Very authentic old school hotel, which is fully upgraded to provide all the amenities you need. It's right in the heart of Fort Kochin, which will soon become a hippie backpacker mecca if the government allows it. The hotel was solid...room exactly what you would expect from a high-end hotel in the area. The attached restaurant is stunning, the spa mediocre, and not many other amenities, but it is quite distant. It is a trek to get to from the airport but the small village feel is totall... Read more

Celebrated a family anniversary at the restaurant at Brunton Boatyard, and my advise is this - these guys know how to cook a tenderloin medium rare (slightly bloody). The quality of produce these guys use is awesome and huge credit to them. We were a bunch of 12 adults with 3 babies and we sure created a racket, but the hotel staff were extremely courteous. Definitely one of those places on my to visit again list.

We were here for only two nights but could have stayed for ever.Hotel well situated to see all the wonderful, vibrant sights. Sea food restaurant worth a visit. We had a suite, with a separate sitting room and lovely balcony to watch the passing boats and fisherman.Even saw some dolphins one morning. Staff helpful, yet discreet. Sunsets from here amazing too . It's really easy to explore Fort Kochin from here on foot,so make the most of it.

This is a wonderful hotel in a great location, close to the site and with a lovely view of the bay. It is fairly recently built and has all modern amenities, but the the reception area has sepia photographs of old Kochi and punkah to cool you as you look at them. There is also the most fantastic Keralan food made with incredibly fresh ingredients. Lovely!

Big room with a small balcony and a nice sea view. Big bathroom with an XL bathtub. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast: the egg Benedict was absolutely perfect as well as the dosa. The restaurant is a little bit dark and sad but the service there is very good. This hotel is at walking distance from all the main touristic spots in Fort Cochin.

Location is excellent with good view over the port and boatyard. However property is small compared to what we see over photos. They should arrange dinner/lunch space with a sea view which they have failed.Rooms are clean and spacious. Garden is excellent.Staff are courteous. They did accomodate early check in which we appreciate.Food is excellent here and people should and must try here instead of going out. However pls dont try desserts. It is difficult to weight between brunton and taj willingd... Read more

Very nice hotel and right in the middle of Fort Kochi area where the attraction is. It is minutes distance to quiet a few attractions in the area and also accessible to the ferry service from where you can reach to Ernakulam city easily. Although the food was fine but the service was a little slow.

This hotel is steeped in history. It was originally a boatyard owned by Mr. George Brunton and his sons. It has been restored and it gives us a glimpse of India during the British Raj. The old ‚??punkah‚??s‚?? and the Victorian furniture lend a wonderful charm as you enter the reception area. The room is spacious and so is the bathroom. The balcony has a wonderful view of the bay. You can watch the tiny boats, ships, large container ships and ferries go by. We stayed during the off season so ... Read more

Lovely old world hotel. Our suite was so spacious and well appointed with antiques. Nice touches of fresh flowers on the bed. Do not miss the free river boat tour in the afternoons. Hotel is located on the river and it is very interesting to just sit and watch the boats pass by. Highly recommended.

Brunton Boatyard is a small and lovely hotel in Fort Kochi. From the moment I entered this property, all i can say is that it was amazing...my stay there was more than comfortable...i had booked a lovely suite overlooking the harbour... the staff at this hotel is simply amazing...courteous, helpful, always smiling and delightful. Akash, Saumya, Adira, Vinay, Basil, Saranya were truly tremendous. What makes this hotel also all the more amazing is that it has an amazing chef : Manoj Nair. He is ... Read more

The Brunton Boatyard was the last leg of our journey with Spice.. Driving through the street of Kochi we arrived at this colonial old boatyard, converted into a hotel and how fantastically. The old world British charm with high wooden beamed ceilings and hand driven fabric fans in the lobby and restaurant, the Deluxe Room (Suite) was a treat. The dinner was the weakest link of the stay but the great breakfast made up for it. the only negative point is the ferry jetty just next door which st... Read more

We recently stayed here. We were lucky as we stayed during rainy season. Had gorgeous weather and our daughter, aged 12, loved the pool and surrounds. You can watch the world go by as you sit by the pool. The history restaurant has delectable food and the service is first class. The staff are more than welcoming and highly recommend this hotel.

Brunton Boatyard is styled like a colonial English port hotel. The open-air lobby features high ceilings, huge ‚??punkah‚?? fans, a billiard table, a bar, framed portraits of historical figures, and an old sedan chair. Whitewashed exterior walls contrast with massive, darkly-colored wooden ceiling beams. In an area that was under construction, our group saw a collection of antique rifles mounted on the wall. When you first arrive, an attendant greets you and places a garland around your neck... Read more

We (my wife & I) were recommended this hotel and had not done any booking. The staff was extremely helpful and service throughout was always top notch. Why the 3-star then? It's a question of personal taste. The colonial atmosphere weighed fully all across the hotel and even in the restaurant. We prefer more informal places where you can chat with other residents and share your experiences. Here the only people that were accessible were the staff and so we managed to have a nice conversati... Read more

The Brunton Boatyard in Kochi Fort provided service that exceeded our expectations and provided us with an unforgettable stay that compelled us to stay longer. Both the Indian and Western meals kept luring myself as well as my family to eat more. The historical significance and decoration of the hotel provided us with a in depth historical background of the place, which was also further encouraged by the information and demonstrations from the friendly hotel staff that deserve a large amount of ... At Fort kochi facing the back waters is Brunton Boatyard , a nice property maintained in a colonial way. During seasons rooms will not be available here. There are only a few rooms in that hotel. Service is excellent and food is good/ Ideal hotel for rest and recuperation

We recently stayed at the Brunton Boatyard for 2 weeks as part of our holiday to India. The hotel is in a beautiful position on the water and we both could have happily spent the entire trip watching the world go past our window! The hotel is presented in a lovely way, recognising its history and that of the local area. The staff are a great asset to the hotel and are (without exception) welcoming, kind, helpful and friendly, always ready with a smile and anticipating your every need. Star... Read more

The Boatyard is one of the more expensive hotels in Fort Kochi but easily justifies this on the strength of its location, superb architecture, furnishings and excellent service. The rooms are beautifully decorated with uncommon restraint for India. Dark woods, white walls and pale blues for soft furnishings. Light fittings, handles, bathrooms and furniture all continue the attention to detail, maintaining the building's history in relatively subtle style. The pool and waterfront are very pleas... Completely perfect. The building was reminiscent of a colonial setting. Very spacious and open, rooms had everything you could need and were comfortable and large. We enjoyed the free boat trip around the harbour at 5pm every evening in their private motor launch. Pool area excellent and commanding views over the harbour from the water front location. The food was excellent and the wine was strangely the cheapest & best I have found in Cochin. The staff were outstanding as you would expect.

Brunton Boatyard is everything the pictures promise, and more. A beautiful, extremely well maintained property, red oxide floors, old fashioned hand swung fans, period furniture, decades old style electric switches, all add loads of charm to the place. The room is again very well appointed, very clean and the high 4 poster bed (needs a stool to climb up) continues the charm into the room. The bathroom is excellent and the balcony has great views of the channel. Staff is very courteous, polite... Read more

Lovely hotel, all part of the CGH group of hotels (see my reviews on their other locations, spice village and coconut lagoon)....there was some delay in getting our rooms and the management team offered us a full day of complimentary meals which was a wonderful touch. The staff here (just like other CGH hotels we have visited) is their biggest asset. They take great care of you...which is a reflection of the good care management must be taking of them. The group has a policy for guests to not... Read more

Don‚??t book any trip there as we asked for a day tour to backwaters with a boat that has a motor. We were told that it will have and we agreed with the price. When we asked in the evening again we were told that it will be with poles only. It was too late to book anywhere else. And instead of 850 Rupees that everybody else paid on the boat we were charged with 2.250 Rupees. A surcharge of 150%! The service in general can improve as the driver to another tour that we have booked in the city arr... Read more
