Very authentic old school hotel, which is fully upgraded to provide all the amenities you need. It's right in the heart of Fort Kochin, which will soon become a hippie backpacker mecca if the government allows it. The hotel was exactly what you would expect from a high-end hotel in the area. The attached restaurant is stunning, the spa mediocre, and not many other amenities, but it is quite distant. It is a trek to get to from the airport but the small village feel is totall... Read more

Celebrated a family anniversary at the restaurant at Brunton Boatyard, and my advise is this - these guys know how to cook a tenderloin medium rare (slightly bloody). The quality of produce these guys use is awesome and huge credit to them. We were a bunch of 12 adults with 3 babies and we sure created a racket, but the hotel staff were extremely courteous. Definitely one of those places on my to visit again list.

We were here for only two nights but could have stayed for ever.Hotel well situated to see all the wonderful, vibrant sights. Sea food restaurant worth a visit. We had a suite, with a separate sitting room and lovely balcony to watch the passing boats and fisherman.Even saw some dolphins one morning. Staff helpful, yet discreet. Sunsets from here amazing too . It's really easy to explore Fort Kochin from here on foot,so make the most of it.

This is a wonderful hotel in a great location, close to the site and with a lovely view of the bay. It is fairly recently built and has all modern amenities, but the the reception area has sepia photographs of old Kochi and punkah to cool you as you look at them. There is also the most fantastic Keralan food made with incredibly fresh ingredients. Lovely!

Big room with a small balcony and a nice sea view. Big bathroom with an XL bathtub. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast: the egg Benedict was absolutely perfect as well as the dosa. The restaurant is a little bit dark and sad but the service there is very good. This hotel is at walking distance from all the main touristic spots in Fort Cochin.

Very nice hotel and right in the middle of Fort Kochi area where the attraction is. It is minutes distance to quiet a few attractions in the area and also accessible to the ferry service from where you can reach to Ernakulam city easily. Although the food was fine but the service was a little slow.

This hotel is steeped in history. It was originally a boatyard owned by Mr. George Brunton and his sons. It has been restored and it gives us a glimpse of India during the British Raj. The old ‚??punkah‚??s‚?? and the Victorian furniture lend a wonderful charm as you enter the reception area. The room is spacious and so is the bathroom. The balcony has a wonderful view of the bay. The Brunton Boatyard was the last leg of our journey with Spice.. Driving through the street of Kochi we arrived at this colonial old boatyard, converted into a hotel and how fantastically. The old world British charm with high wooden beamed ceilings and hand driven fabric fans in the lobby and restaurant, the Deluxe Room (Suite) was a treat. We recently stayed here. We were lucky as we stayed during rainy season. Had gorgeous weather and our daughter, aged 12, loved the pool and surrounds. Brunton Boatyard is styled like a colonial English port hotel. The open-air lobby features high ceilings, huge ‚??punkah‚?? fans, a billiard table, a bar, framed portraits of historical figures, and an old sedan chair. Whitewashed exterior walls contrast with massive, darkly-colored wooden ceiling beams. In an area that was under construction, our group saw a collection of antique rifles mounted on the wall. We (my wife & I) were recommended this hotel and had not done any booking. The staff was extremely helpful and service throughout was always top notch. Why the 3-star then? It's a question of personal taste. The colonial atmosphere weighed fully all across the hotel and even in the restaurant. We prefer more informal places where you can chat with other residents and share your experiences. The Boatyard is one of the more expensive hotels in Fort Kochi but easily justifies this on the strength of its location, superb architecture, furnishings and excellent service. The rooms are beautifully decorated with uncommon restraint for India. Dark woods, white walls and pale blues for soft furnishings. Light fittings, handles, bathrooms and furniture all continue the attention to detail, maintaining the building's history in relatively subtle style. The pool and waterfront are very pleas... Completely perfect. The building was reminiscent of a colonial setting. Very spacious and open, rooms had everything you could need and were comfortable and large. We enjoyed the free boat trip around the harbour at 5pm every evening in their private motor launch. Pool area excellent and commanding views over the harbour from the water front location. The food was excellent and the wine was strangely the cheapest & best I have found in Cochin. The staff were outstanding as you would expect.

The hotel is, as the name suggests, built on the site of an old boatyard and is well located on the seafront. It's a fine building and has all the facilities you would want. We ate in the History restaurant where the food was very good. However, the caveat to all this is that the service was very lacklustre and not what one would expect from an Indian upmarket hotel. It was near the beginning of the season but that's not really an excuse and there wasn't any real spark to the place.
