Stayed here for one night and had comfortable stay. Was upgraded to larger heritage room which had antique looks in terms of furniture etc. The property is bit old and did not have enough power points. In fact, i had to charge laptop by unplugging kettle. The food in restaurant and the breakfast spread was good.

situated close to most Landmark's of Chennai.Inspite of pre Independence construction the HOTEL TEAM are maintaining the rooms well .The restaurant serves food to taste .The coffee shop is an ideal place to do meetings over short eats .They have preserved the coach of Maharaja of Travancore for public view.Beware of Autos outside the hotel gate they will fleece you heavily .Staff are sweet, good & service oriented.

I had booked a room in this hotel and was apt for my location of work and meeting of friends. The hotel even though old is very well maintained and the staff are very courteous. The room service is good. In today's age when we all need wifi, it was not all that great and had to log in many times. This area they will have to improve. Over all 4 out of 5 for this hotel.

This is an old building and will somewhat qualify in the heritage hotels category. The gallery, the decor, the shops - all are a reminder of the old Indian hotels. The location is good and quite with a 24 hr coffee shop right across the road. Except that it suffers from water logging on the front side.. Rooms are comfortable and functional.. Swimming pool, gym sports are perks.. WiFi works well.. Food is average to good.. Suggestion to hotel: special discounts for house guests on food buffet is ... Read more

I was in Chennai for an examination and was hence already quite stressed out, things could have gotten much worse if the hotel experience had been bad. In this light, I am very glad and relieved that I chose to stay at the Ambassador Pallava. In fact I will probably go so far as to say, all in all, this has been the single best hotel experience I have ever had, and it has only one real reason ‚?? the large-heartedness of the staff and the team. You may find bigger and more lavish infrastructure ... Read more

I chose this Hotel due to its proximity to Chennai Egmore railway station. The hotel building is on the older side, but well maintained. The Hotel staff was very cordial and helpful. Room service was very quick and efficient. Plenty of choices for morning breakfast and it did taste good. Great place to stay with family members or for business visits.

The hotel though located in mid city, but rooms and buildings are very old. AC makes noise like a machine working in a factory. Large room with old setup, old small TV, very old styled bathrooms, irritating internet, irresponsible staff. The bed linen was also not good. I hope atleast they will provide good breakfast, as I've paid for more than a 5* hotel cost for this 1* hotel

Had been to Ambassador Pallava years back- that was the time the city was called Madras. The hotel has lost its sheen- but keeping in mind the location & price its quite a good deal. The rooms are average- cant be compared to the new age swanky business hotels or boutique hotels. The breakfast had a good spread- the staff were very courteous and overall a good experience

I was here for a one night stay.. You'll simply fall in love with this! They've maintained the old world charm while having modern amenities alongside. Service is prompt and warm. Food is expensive but good.. The swimming pool is also good! My suggestion is they should start a rental service for swimming costumes and other paraphernalia.. Loved it!

This Hotel took me back to time, right from the furniture to the hospitality. My experience was good. Mr. Trosseau (I may have got the spelling wrong) (his real name is even more difficult to pronounce or remember - he is French) was exceptionally courteous and a jovial person. The food can be better. This is a mid-budget hotel in a quiet locality. It has old world charm definitely which can be a welcome change from the slick modern hotels.

The hotel is good - very good ambience, big rooms. Food is extremely good. Don't go to the buffet if you are trying to lose weight! Staff especially the ones in the restaurant are very friendly and cook food to your specification. Has a good gym attached to it. Location is great - walking distance from the Egmore museum and the main shopping area (Anna Salai) is only 10 minutes by a taxi. No negative points.
