1. Stayed at the Taj Chandigarh from 3 April to 7 April 2016, on a business cum pleasure trip to the city. A well maintained property located right in the heart of Chandigarh, a short walk away from the famous rose garden as well as the Sector-17 market. 2. Property & Rooms. The hotel has all the trappings one would associate with a Taj property, boasting of a well-equipped gym, free wi-fi, a decent sized swimming pool, spa & three restaurants. The spacious lobby with its marble & glass décor i... Visited the property in May 2016... Being Taj, its a good property add to that the advantage of a great location - in sector 17th, the main shopping area of Chandigarh. The property is quite well maintained and gives a god feel of openness with a large lobby area. The rooms are average size and not very spacious - the living area will be well under 200 sq ft but are done up quite well and give a contemporary feel. Not a very big property but nicely managed. It is located in sector-17, a walking distance from the famous rose garden. We stayed in inter-connected rooms for a night. The rooms were moderately sized, neat & clean, having comfortable beds. The staff members were courteous. Check-in and check-out process were smooth. The buffet breakfast had lovely spread and they even offered items from menu list, but the spread and taste of buffet dinner somehow didn't match our varied expectations.

I stayed in this hotel for two days for an official trip to Chandigarh. I would like to narrate an incident to highlight the staff behaviour of this hotel. I called up the front desk to enquire whether they can arrange for a charger and they said that they dont keep mobile chargers and that it would be difficult for them to arrange for the same. We stayed in Taj for 2 nights . Overall the experience was really good with prompt service on whatever was demanded. The best part is the location as you can walk down to the Sector 17 market which is considered the central place for Shopping and food in Chandigarh. A recommendation would be to try Atta Chicken in their restaurant Dera - something very different and delicious that the non-vegetarian food lovers can savor.

I had stayed for just one day but my experience was excellent. If opportunity comes, I would like to stay again and even recommend the same to my friends. Was there for my son's TT tournaments and decided to stay at the Taj. The property is nice but is 12 years old and the wear and tear is obvious in small noticeable ways. One is the stale smell that pervades, nothing obnoxious but you know that there is a smell. Staff, especially F&B - super class right from the Exec Chef down to the servers. Front Office equally good headed by a very efficient Jishnu Unni. Hospitality par excellence.

It's a centrally located property in Chandigarh. Staff as usual in all Taj hotels was courteous and hospitable. We had breakfast at the coffee shop and it was a wonderful spread. Aloo parathas with a dollop of white butter was amazing. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that the rooms were not as tastefully done up as other Tajikistan properties. Also the TV had limited channels. Being a Gold member of Epicure they allowed us a late check out. Goo0d experience all in all.

Spent only two nights at this lovely property in the heart of Chandigarh. The team was exceptionally efficient and the rooms are luxurious with all the 5 star amenities in place. Great restaurants especially the Chinese Black Lotus and the breakfast bar. Pool and gym area was also well equipped and efficient service by Vivek. We were truly overwhelmed by the warmth and hospitality shown by every team member and will definitely return on our next visit to Chandigarh.

Stayed here for 3 days / 2 nights on work. I am a big fan of Taj Hotels... yet i wont rate this very high.. Positives: As a solo woman traveller, the safety offered by Taj is unmatchable Nice location - went for morning run to rose garden on both days Tastefully done up room Fruits in the room is something i really like As always, forest essential toilerteries are awesome Restaurant staff is really friendly and warm (like this about all Taj hotels) Not so good: Its not as grand as a Taj should... Were not disappointed... Enjoyed our stay, as in our past stays, at this very functional city hotel. Comfortable and clean rooms. Exceptional service all round. The food at the Indian restaurant 'DERA' was exceptional. This place has never disappointed.. the food was great in spite of a new menu and a new chef.

It wasn't to stay, but to spend a couple of hours after a meeting before I got on a train. It was surprising to say the least. And not in a pleasant way. The bathroom was the first shocker. Leaking, stained washbasin. Wet floor. The nicest staff was at the entrance of the property. Smiling and charming. The coffee shop lot were less enthusiastic and the others were officious, almost robotic. Not a nice thing to say. But that's how it was. After an uninspired snack I decided to wait it out in ... Taj Service is legendary. Have been a Taj Inner circle member for a long time now but every time I stay at the Taj, it is a superlative experience (all those superlatives in the review title are for real). Simple examples include how the staff attend to the smallest of your needs. Their coffee shop (Café 17) is a nice place with a decent buffet spread. Anurag at Café 17 made me a wonderful Spanish omlette when he knew I was wished for an omlette. Vrinder at Café 17 made us comfortable at brea... Read more

Went to Chandigarh on business with a number of colleagues and this is 'THE' hotel of the area. The hotel & grounds are spectacular for the region and the welcome at the entrance is warm as the afternoon sun. The hotel looks beautiful when you get passed the gate security common to the area and the entrance lobby. The staff are kind, welcoming and friendly - everyone had a smile for us. Unfortunately when I got to my room, which was well decorated and in keeping with a luxury hotel, the room st... Read more

We really enjoyed the hotel - the pool area was also great (and quiet). It's in a good location and is modern and clean - all to a good standard. The rooms are large and the bathrooms very pleasant. We also tried the Indian restaurant in the hotel, which was very good, if a little on the pricey side. Only down side is that the staff did not know much about how to get on a tour of the government buildings. We managed to sort that ourself, however. Would recommend.

Excellent hotel, in a beautiful city. I enjoyed my stay there and it was very comfortable. Hotel staff are very decent and responsive. They never ignored our requests or made a delay. My best stay ever so far. You deserve the highest rating. I will only ask you to serve fish in the breakfast; just for middle eastern people :)

Chandigarh is a very interesting town, worth a visit for one day or two, and the Taj is located in sector 17, which is quite convenient to visit around, just in front of the Rose Garden, close to some shops and restaurants which can be reached on foot. It is not too far from the Capitol complex and the Rock Garden and Museums by car. Staff is really charming and smiling but, as far as this hotel is rather modern, the image sticking to the TAJ hotels is not there. Rooms, not the basic ones, are i... Read more

Chandigarh is a stop off point for people travelling in India rather than a destination. We stayed one night on the way from Shimla to Amritsar. Huge characterless reception area, nice if rather modestly sized rooms, typical uninviting hotel bar and a choice of restaurants to suit both the expense account traveller and the tourist. We ate in Cafe 17 and did not regret the experience - we had the buffet. Various starters were delivered to our table and having opted for the non vegetarian and ... Read more

What an awful experience. A hotel that simply can't cope when busy. Terrible service and almost inedible food both at breakfast and in the restaurants. Room was fine but the executive room was identical to the standard room which was 20% cheaper. The Marriott is a much better option if staying in Chandigarh.
