Lobby was nice enough, staff was nice and helpful. Room felt like a cheap hostel, old curtains, old bedding and furniture, tv had one channel. Bathroom was ok. Room was clean but the hotel felt deserted like something out of the movie "The Shining". Spend a little extra and stay in the city center by the shops and restaurants. Would not recommend. To top it off, I am traveling with my travel agent friend, who booked at a travel agent rate - shouldn't the hotel want her to recommend the hotel and... Read more

Spent 3 nights in Radisson Blu Saga Hotel. The hotel is 15 minutes outside the centre of town, in a very pleasant area with a super view from the high floors, but we may have liked a more convent location. The hotel rooms are comfortable, but need refreshed. Bathroom very clean, with ample toiletries and towels. Breakfast offers a good selection. Did not eat in the Hotel for an evening meal. Staff very helpful and friendly.

How Radisson can allow this run down decrepit old hotel to use its name is beyond me. 315 USD per night for a dirty old hotel with out dated and worn furnishings. Badly located, rude staff, blow flys in the room, curtains that won't close properly, unfashionable, over priced and just plain nasty in all respects. Radisson you should be ashamed. I rely on your name to ensure I get quality and value for money. I won't make that mistake again and feel completely misled. I'll be going out of my wa... Read more

This is a no go for us, actually one of the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The hotel is really old and lack basic maintenance: no light in the corridor (yes!!!), very tired bedroom with stains everywhere, old furnitures, TV not working ect... They should close this hotel for renovation. On the + side: breakfast and location were good.

Rent a car if you wish to stay at Radisson Blu Saga. Plenty of parking. Otherwise, be prepared to walk to the city center. However, it's near to the Iceland National Museum where you can get to know much of the history of Iceland up to its present time. Choose the Radisson Blu 1919 for city center location when not renting a car.

There was major construction works going on in the hotel so the spa, fitness centre and pool was closed. Our room was supposed to be in the newly renovated part of the hotel and all I can say is that I would not have liked to have seen it before. Dirty mattresses that could be seen through the thin sheets that were even ripped. !!!!!

We stayed at the Radisson blu saga, which is part of the Carlson club chain, while in Reykjavik on business. The location is not the most convenient to town, although you can walk there in about 10 to 15 minutes. The hotel itself is currently being renovated, so there was a lot of construction noise throughout the day. The beds were very comfortable and the blackout curtain certainly helped with the midnight sun. The room looked worn. The bathtub is high to climb into and was very slippery. The ... Read more

We had asked for our hotels to be in the city center and were surprised this was on the outskirts next to some construction. The walk back into town is about 10-15 minutes so not bad and was good exercise. The two times we checked in we were greeted by friendly staff and made to feel welcome. They answered our questions and suggested things to do. The bar area offers comfortable seating and the bar staff is friendly. This was my second stay at Radisson Blu Saga - and hotel is decent. This time it was under construction so spa and fitness was closed. The hotel looks like something taken out of an eastern European suburb, and so does the rooms. Everything works, but just seem a bit worn down.Restaurant on the top floor is good, so is the breakfast buffet, and all in all I actually like the hotel - and staying here. Staff is friendly, and there is a nice atmosphere. Having that said, I'm looking forward to seei... Read more

My premier visit to Iceland, I was comforted by the thought of staying at a Radisson Blu hotel since I am a member of their Carlsson Club program. The location is not too bad. But then the whole country is an awesome location! I would have easily given this hotel a 4 or 4.5 rating except it is undergoing renovation and my room wasn't the most modern one in the property. Their front desk, restaurant and breakfast buffet staff are outstanding. Service was spotless and their courtesy commendable... Read more

A nice hotel perfectly located close to University of Iceland with an amazing view and absolutely wonderful breakfast. Clean and quiet rooms even if they are a bit worn and in a need of renovation. The wi-fi sucks and thats a pity. It hardly worked during my stay. Really nice staff.

Positives first. The location and environment of the hotel could not be faulted. Clean, well maintained and nice breakfast. Unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations because wifi was not available in my room although It was supposed to be a room with wifi. I contacted hotel customer service who said they would sort it. It did not get sorted. Additionally, the hotel were upgrading rooms and warned of potential noise pollution between 9am and 5pm. Drapes were heavy but does not completely shut so there was leftover tape from the previous guests... The windows were extremely dirty so even though the view was good, all you noticed was the dirt. Our family stayed here for 5 nights June 2016. Although the hotel is not what you call a 5 star hotel in the US, the service you get is AMAZING! We arrived early (9 am) in the hotel and they already had a room reserved for us. As a Gold member of Club Carlson, I requested for an upgrade. She gladly upgraded me to a junior suite but we had to wait. We ate a fantastic breakfast buffet at the hotel. The room was ready after breakfast. A short but pleasant stroll (10-15 minutes) from Reykjavik this hotel was a great choice. The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast provided everything needed to set me up for a full days activity. The hotel helped us book the tours we wanted and we were picked up and returned to the hotel easily. This large well-located hotel is part of the formidable and reliable Radisson Blu chain. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from downtown and a stone's throw from the very good Icelandic National Museum. It is close to the bus depot so connections to the international airport are fine. Location was not in a great part of town and there was a lot of construction going on when we visited. Hotel is under renovation so the outside and inside of the hotel were not that great. Radisson Blu is usually a reliable chain but this one rather lets down the brand. The rooms are large but in need of some TLC. No coat hangers on arrival. Nowhere to put soap or toiletries once in the shower. Food is very good - if you can get it - buffet dinner not properly restocked (little left after 19:30! and nothing after about 20:30 even though it closes at 22:00). Noisy building site next door. Breakfast is again good - but not properly restocked. Luggage service virtually non-existent -... Read more

Apparently the hotel is know locally as 'The Farmer's Hotel' - it's owned by a consortium. And it's a fine enough hotel; currently undergoing renovation (and it needs it) - it would be great if the staff attitudes could be renovated too. Most seemed to be somewhat jaded (high turnover of tourists?) - although I did find one chap (in the restaurant) to be efficient and helpful. It's easy to walk to the town or to the beach. The "GRILLI√?" restaurant on the top floor was the highlight of our stay here. Three walled panorama of the relatively quiet town of Reykjavik. The TV reception was poor, freezing every few minutes. The internet was poor and somewhat intermittent. An old fashioned slightly shabby hotel that needs updating. Staying in June meant long hours of daylight and the curtains were not up to the job, they didn't keep the light out and did not make for a good night‚??s rest. Also walls thin so woken by to in next room very early in the morning, presumably also unable to sleep because of the light. On the plus side the staff were charming and the breakfasts good.

A large tour desk in the lobby with provide information about bookings. The property seems very intent on full renovations and customer satisfaction.
