You will not be disappointed if you stay here. The location is the best. Right across the street from the parliament building where many of the walking tours start. We were able to walk to Harpa and to the modern church and to the old harbor. Excellent restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Once you park, there is no need for a car to do the main sights. Parking is at a premium and there is no designated hotel parking. Staff can direct you to a car park under the town hall. We flew into Keflavi... Read more

This hotel checked all of the boxes. Reasonable, great location, quiet, clean, and spacious. We were on the 2nd floor with two double beds. When you entered the room, the two beds were to the right. What's really nice is that there is a full height wall between the two beds. Although it did not provide absolutely privacy, it certainly helped. The bathroom was at the end and to the left was a small kitchenette and sitting area in the front by the windows. The windows are operable to allow fresh a... Read more

After checking guidebooks, Trip Advisor and Googling we are so glad we chose Kvosin. Perfect location in the center of town, set back from the bustle in a small square, near Lake Tjornin and within easy walking to restaurants ( many wonderful ones), the harbor, shopping (wide variety including grocery stores) and Harpa concert center. The staff ( thank you Sergej, Nicolas, Hildur, Snorri and Vardi for their guidance and help in arranging excursions and restaurant reservations )- outstanding! Our... Read more

We stayed at 3 different hotels in Reykjavik during the course of our visit to Iceland. While they were all nice hotels, The Kvosin really stood out. The location was wonderful---close to the center of things but in a quiet pocket. Our room was nicely appointed, with a kitchen and small living space, comfortable bed, and nice linens. It was fairly large by Reykjavik standards. We were able to check in early. Snorri, the general manager, was very pleasant and helpful. When we first arrived,... Read more

We stayed at the Kvosin before and after our son's wedding in Iceland recently. It was the perfect hotel for many of the guests to stay and enjoy catching up with each other. The apartments are spacious and well equipped, the service was very friendly and efficient, with a relaxed atmosphere. We managed to see quite a bit of the city and enjoyed the delicious brunch breakfasts in the cafe downstairs before heading out on various coach excursions.

I am a seasoned SPG platinum member with most of my stays at Westins so my expectations are reasonable.... WE booked this hotel rather than the Borg and other similarly priced hotels based on the rave reviews on Trip Advisor. THe photos do look great and the charming witty words to describe the rooms seduced us. THats where the thrill ended. FIrst the pros : well maintained clean property in ideal location next to the Borg hotel. NEw property so things aren't run down ( although the toilet s... Read more

This is a lovely lovely place to stay. Really quirky rooms with nice amenities. Parking is limited but we always found a space. Parking not really an issue if you are travelling out for the day and not coming back until later. The hotel has a really nice atmosphere and the rooms are large with nice modern bathroom. The location is great and is ideal for walking around at nighttime. The only downside was the breakfast, it was nice, but you have to go to the cafe next door. When you go you get a m... Read more

We stayed in a family room and space for a family of four. The staff was very accommodating. The bar was nice and pretty empty for the summer. The room was a little small, but it was very well organized and had a kitchen which would be nice for a longer stay. We did not have a lot of time here, but most restaurants we checked out were walking distance away.

When my husband and I first arrived at Kvosin, I was struck with the gorgeous traditional architecture of the exterior juxtaposed with a modern lobby and room. They manage to blend the two in perfect harmony. The lobby area has a cozy bar where it's always happy hour for hotel guests. The modern check in desk with carrera marble top is to die for! Our room was also beautifully designed with kitchen island, heated towel rack and lovely sleeping quarters with room darkening shades; a must for thi... Read more

The Kvosin Downtown Hotel is right downtown and about 15 minutes walk from the bus depot where the airport shuttle drops you off if you haven't paid extra for the smaller shuttle to the hotel. Walking can save you both time and money. Check-in service was very pleasant and in excellent English. There appeared to be someone at the front desk 24 hours a day. We were a party of four and had booked a two bed, four person suite and were upgraded to a three bed suite with a partial and equipped ki... Read more

My wife and I just traveled to Iceland for a vacation and to celebrate our 25th anniversary. I booked a "bigger" room at the Kvosin. This a a wonderful hotel. The staff could not have been nicer and were always ready to give assistance. The hotel has a nice lobby and a nice little bar as well. The room was amazing. I had asked for one of the loft rooms and was able to reserve it. A large open room with a separate sleeping area, a kitchen bar, a seating area with a sofa and two chairs. Very c... Read more

Look you in the eye sincerity. Crisp cleanness to a fault. Simple elegance. Perfect location without noise. Stayed on fourth floor - the mountain - was a heroic experience. Sergei - a desk manager- was extremely worldly and pampering. Snorri - the hotel manager was very gracious.

We loved everything about this hotel - comfy beds, access to a shared balcony, lots of space, the convenience of a little kitchenette in the room, and fab bathroom with lovely toiletries. Perfect location, very central and only a few minutes from the harbour - we're usually happy to walk miles and miles, but in the icy winter, being a short walk away from everything was sometimes very welcome! The staff were excellent too - very helpful with recommendations, liaising with a tour company on ou... Read more

Overall our stay couldn't be better. The staff were very friendly and always attentive. The rooms were truly stylish, with all amenities that one would aspire to have; a kitchen island with a nespresso machine, utensils and a small fridge, decent size comfortable beds, lots of plugs available, a designer radio. Location is very central, yet also was not noisy as it is on a side street. It was also easy to get to, and had (paid) parking in front. Highly recommended for families.

This hotel is in the perfect location in the center of downtown Reykjavik. Restaurants, bars, shops and a few grocery stores are all within walking distance. The rooms are spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel to families that need the extra room.

4 of stayed in the biggest room. It is like having your own little perfectly decorated home in the middle of Reykjavik. The location is just off the main square so possibly a little quieter than some other places. We walked everywhere. The breakfast at the cafe next door was lovely (our reservation included a breakfast voucher). We didn't have time to enjoy the bar in the hotel, but the G&T list was intriguing, The desk staff were terrific. One of the guys marked up my map to show me where all t... Read more

Perfect location. In the city. But just far enough from the downtown action to not keep you up a night! Biggest Room was clean and well equipped and spacious. Kitchen / seating area was nice, but we weren't doing any cooking. The shower was big and very nice. A good size accommodation. Though 1 really tiny bathroom made it feel smaller!! It was actually smaller than the walk in shower. Really tiny sink area. We ended up doing our teeth in the kitchen sink each day. And to be clear - there is... Read more

I recently traveled to Reykjavik Iceland with my husband and stayed at a small, boutique hotel-the Kvosin Downtown Hotel. Its location allows you to walk to most sights, shops, and restaurants. The rooms are modern and have a kitchenette area, if you wanted to prepare some meals. The staff is very friendly and helpful in planning activities. One of the perks of this hotel is that you have your breakfast at a great restaurant attached to the stone building- Bergsson Mathus, a farm to table restau... Read more

This hotel is absolutely worth every penny. The location is excellent, near every hotspot in Reykjavik and near the busstop and office of the grand tour operators. Staff is very helpful. The design of the apartments, at the top floors, is pure Scandinavian, modern and clean. They paid a lot of attention to detail, tiling for instance, in the rooms, that are equipped with kitchen, bathroom, separate bedroom and toilet. You even can sit on the roof on beautiful days, if you like.

The location of the Kovsin is great, the rooms are not bad, the had marginal black out curtains considering it was VERY light out from 1 am to 4 am, but the thing that ga e this hotel a not so good review in my opinion, was the noise level. We had someone, or something a one our room that sounded like someone rolling a boulder across the room , and then have 5 kids chasing after it constantly ALL NIGHT LONG for 3 nights. It was so awful, we did not get any sleep. The breakfast was really great... Read more

My best friend and I stayed there for a 40th birthday celebration. The hotel was great and the communication with the hotel in the months prior was super valuable as tried to figure out what to do with the trip -- tons of tips and great advice. The hotel was super comfortable, quaint and perfectly located. We really enjoyed the trip and would recommend it without hesitation!

Stayed here for a week in July 2016 with our family of four (two children ages 6 and 8). The hotel is in a great central location within walking distance to all sites, restaurants and shopping downtown. I cannot say enough about the service... The team's recommendations were so much better than anything out of the various guidebooks - they not only pointed us to the local places but gave us tips on how to experience the local culture. W... I'll start by saying that the only reason I did not give a 5 star review was the noise factor. The room was fabulous, but faced the street and there seemed to be a bar/party going on directly across the street. Not sure how much the fact that we stayed on a Saturday night played into this equation. I would definitely go right back to this hotel, but would ask for a room in the back of the building. The room itself was clean, spacious and was really more of a mini suite. A small refrigerator,... Read more

We stayed 2 adults and 2 kids (10, 15) in one of their appartments for 6 nights. Nice and clean . Comfy beds for both the kids and the adults . Excellent toilet with great shower. Breakfast very tasty , although not so much to choose from - no buffet , you choose from basically a breakfast plate and a bruch plate. The location of the hotel is right in the centre of Reykjavik. No included parking, or hotel parking at all . Just a public , very expensive parking outside the hotel. We used a parkin... Read more
