This is a little off the main square about a 25 min walk for most. We used the bus pass from the hotel it is so easy don't use a taxi 25.00 Krona silly that's the same as $25CDN. The breakfast provided downstairs is great only open till 10am. The hotel gym is decent for sure. I think this was a wise choice especially if your a Hilton Honours member. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We also enjoyed the lunch menu it was good value a tasty food.

The staff has been very friendly and accommodating. The executive lounge is a great spot to meet other guests and protrudes from the building so that you get views of both the harbor and downtown. You can check out bus passes from the front desk that allow free travel within the public transportation system. They can book tours on site and if you prefer to walk it is only a few hundred meters to the edge of the city proper.

Iceland, what a wonderful country!!! The hotel staff is helpful, efficient, polite and are genuinely nice people. In fact all the Icelandic people I met seamed to be genuinely nice people. Great location, quite at night and near everything. Hotel is walking distance from a grocery store, the local swimming/hot tubs, in case you want to have a genuine Islandic experience with the local people. Booked via Hilton for around 220$US a night for a room with 2 singles. We checked in around 6h30AM so I have to thank them for allowing such an early arrival. The room itself was decent, if a bit spartiate, with 2 singles, LCD TV with decent amount of English channels, smallish but nice bathroom, view of the back parking lot, fridge, coffee maker. They do have a breakfast buffet for 3700Kr (around 35$) but we opted to eat out. The gym on premise is good with 6 treadmills, 5 ellipticals, bikes... Read more

Stayed for three nights as part of my partners 40th birthday celebrations. E-mailed the hotel three weeks before to see if they could put a balloon or a banner in the room for arrival. Got a very quick reply with a "no" and a list of extras and associated charges that would be applied. Apart from that though it was a night hotel. The standard double room is big enough for two to easily stay in without getting in each others way. Couple of little "quirks", there wasn't a double duvet but two sin... Read more

Great place to stay while in Reykjavik. The staff is very helpful and knowledgable about town, transportation and accommodating needs. A bit of a walk to major attractions but the local bus line runs right across the street. It's easy to use and takes you everywhere you need to go. The restaurant, Vox, is also very good. One of my favorite meals while in Iceland was here. COD and risotto. There's always a crowd so you know it must be good. The breakfast buffet is also good and runs from 6... Read more

Turned out to be an excellent location. Just a quick drive to downtown Reykjavik, which is quite small and easy to navigate. Parking wasn't a problem, but here is also a hop on/off tourist bus that stops at the hotel if you don't plan to have a rental car. The hotel itself was really nice and the views on the water/city side are stunning. We stayed here on a stopover to Alaska. We were given an immediate upgrade on arrival and had a huge room with a lovely view towards the sea and mountains. We had the 4 course fish tasting menu with matching wines- probably the best meal we've had in a long time- Michelin standard. However it was pricey- but then everywhere is in Iceland. We went 100 m up the road for breakfast where you could get a Pret a Manger meal for half the price. Highly recommend.

We stayed here for 2 nights stop over from Alaska to UK. The hotel is out of the way, although the they do offer a free bus pass into downtown, we didn't actually bother as on the full day we were there we had booked a day trip out. Though a bit out of town (20 minute walk), they had available free bus cards for your stay. The bus stop is in front of the hotel, runs often and is about 5 minutes from downtown. Worked beautifully. Different bus lines (including the hop on/hop off bus which is not included in the pass) had routes through all parts of town and suburbs. Great plus.

I think the key to this hotel is what you want to do while you are interested city. If you want to be walking distance from downtown, this is not a great option. If you're doing tours daily and want a nice room with a great executive lounge, for those Hilton members that have access, then this is the place to stay. Best lounge I have seen. We recently went on a Globus tour of Iceland and started and ended our trip at the Hilton Reykjavik Nordica ‚?? one night when we arrived in Iceland and two nights when we returned. Our first room was on the 8th floor and had a stunning view. The room was large, had an in-room safe and a bathroom with a tub. The room was fantastic. Hotel is excellent. It doesn't have Icelandic charm, but it is a good solid hotel. We had a lovely room with great views, very spacious. Bathroom was spacious too. Like many northern latitude rooms, size is small because of the heating factor. Once you get over that and relax you will enjoy your stay more, also most rooms will be warm so sleep naked. The Hilton Nordica does give you a free bus card into the city which was a bonus and easy to access. The hotel has a great gift shop, you can book tours and also your bus ticket back to the airport from there. Overall with enjoyed our stay with Hilton.

This hotel epitomizes the essence of service, comfortability and connectivity. Ease of access and a location that is prime. You can walk (to absorb the energy of Iceland) or the bus stop is directly across the street and an easy 6-7 minutes to the city center. You won't be disappointed!

Great hotel, good food. I recommend the "High Tea" which gives a variety of food samples and is pretty much a meal. However if you want to explore the city on foot you should find a hotel in the City Centre. Next time I will try the Canopy by Hilton.

We had a lovely one night stay in the hotel before an early morning flight. The airport is about a 40 minute drive from the Hilton. Within walking distance you can find several stores and restaurants. The rooms was well equipped with a nice television, iron, and blow dryer. I had a good night's rest on the very comfortable mattress and high quality linens. The rooms were clean and very modern. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about local attractions. Stayed here for my wife's birthday with my 6 year old daughter - enjoyed the Hilton gold upgrade to queen executive as gave enough space for the child's bed.. Good quality rooms - massive radiator you can control for heating - 15/20 minute walk into town even with 6 year old this was fine for us - taxi so expensive!!! Happy hour at the bar was well received given its almost £10 for a beer at the moment! All in a good choice for mid range price.

This hotel was perfect for us, we had a really early flight from manchester England and got to the hotel for 9 am and they checked us in straight away and showed us to our room with no extra charge! This in my book makes a great hotel as we were able to relax for a few hours and get warm before the sun came up and we explored reykjavik! Hotel is on the main road, turn left out of the main entrance and just walk on that road for 10 mins and your in the centre, absolutely no need for taxi or bus.... Read more

Stayed at the hotel for a few days while in Reykjavik. The staff were very helpful and the overall condition of the hotel was very nice. We did have drinks in the bar which was quite full during happy hour and ate in the bar as well as in the restaurant. The overall experience was very nice. Everything clean, modern and well appointed.

We stayed 5 nights and couldn't fault it. Earlier reviews mentioned bus passes but we were told these were no longer offered. Not a problem really as walk was a pleasant 10 minutes into town. We were often first pick up/ drop off for trips as being just outside downtown area. Rooms bright spacious and warm. Housekeeping good and unobtrusive. All in all a good value lovely hotel. Newer property that caters to the business traveler well. Very modern with basic room amenities. If you are visiting Iceland for vacation or leisure there may be better hotels that have a more local experience. Fairly expensive for food and drink if on a budget. Did not see any thermostat in my room and was cold the first night there. If you need space do not get a standard room which can be fairly tight.
