Clean room, flatscreen TV, hairdryer for those who needs that. The room we booked should be more than enough for the casual traveller. Excpecially for that price, very cheap. The hotel is located very local to everything you should need from the city; restaurants, bars, shopping and so on. Best thing about the hotell is the staff, very very helpfull guides to finding the best spots to visit while in Iceland. Special thanks to Robert and of course the nice breakfast lady. You guys made our trip... Read more

The TV was tiny and only worker sometimes, the wi fi in the room didn't work and the room was cold! I had a single room for 3 nights, the bed was comfy enough and clean, good view of the snow capped mountains in the distance. Shared communal bathroom, take your own flip-flops to avoid tinea. Towel was scrathy and thin. Breakfast was included in the price and was ok. It's a cheap two star place for the budget traveller. Oh, and the staff were great.

Great budget hotel in an excellent location on the main tourist drag. Close to restaurants, bars etc and the sea front. Rooms nice, clean and modern with smart TVs. Room was very warm and cosy. Free parking available on site and also at safe location 100m away. Very good inclusive Buffett breakfast with all the usual stuff - as Iceland is so expensive it is good to have a big breakfast to avoid having to buy lunch! The hotel was overpriced by European standards but in Iceland this place is grea... Read more

The hotel is closed to city center. The staff was helpful. Breakfasts were good (diversity of ingredients for salads, fruits, yogurts, cheeses, different kind of meat, etc.). The bathroom was very, very small. Sewerage system was very noisy :(. The hairdryer was broken. The closet's door was also broken (room nr.407). The price for accommodation is crazy high (125euro per night.) In other European countries, you can stay in a 4 star hotel, in Iceland - in 4th Floor hotel with private bathroom (... Read more

Situated right next to Hlemmur and Laugavegur shopping street it's perfectly located. The breakfast buffet is good, but missing real bread. The rooms are clean and well furnished, just keep your eyes open during booking as there are rooms without a window as well.

Pros: - good breakfast buffet with lots to choose from - comfortable bed - LOCATION - staff were friendly (except for the half-asleep lady waiting for us to check in...more on that later). Cons (quite a few of them) - we were given dirty sheets and one of our towels was stained. - we had a room with no window and had to use the shared bathrooms. The other visitors did not clean up after themselves, so even when staff cleaned the bathroom it would get dirty VERY quickly. - Because there was no... Read more

I arrived in the middle of the night and the lady at the reception welcomed me nicely and was very helpful. However she was not sure if my room had been payed, so she asked me for the credit card. The room had been payed. My room was very very very small, but clean. There are three toilets/bathrooms for 20 rooms, so "shared facilities" means that in the morning you may have to compete to use one of the three bathrooms/toilets. Two of the bathrooms are very old and not in good state. The better o... Read more

This is a fairly budget hotel so the review should be read in this light. If you want to stay somewhere really plush book elsewhere. The reception staff were really helpful and processed our booking efficiently. I stayed in a 1 person room which had a sink but no en-suite toilet. There is a shared set of 3 bathrooms which were OK but not wonderful. The toilets were used by all guests so this meant that the floor wasn't always clean. This isn't helped by some guests covering the floor with water ... Read more

A lot of reviews mention price - you have to understand that this is a budget hotel, but given that it is in Iceland it is more expensive than you would usually class as budget. Don't expect anything else. Having said that, I thought this was a good hotel. The staff were very helpful and happily arranged for me to have a takeaway breakfast as I left at 3:15am, as well as accommodating early check in without any problem. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice view out on to the ocean and... Read more

Small rooms but the sumptuous breakfast made up for it. The staff was friendly and helpful too! Anywhere in Reykjavik is quite expensive so this was a good deal. Parking space was limited so we had to find parking in the streets which was free from 6pm- 9am.

If you want to be in the heart of a city, this would be a good location. The reception area is fine, the rooms are actually pretty stylish, but as a group of 9 we only needed a good place to sleep after a long day of exploring and a late dinner out. Not sure where you can park if you have a rental and the lobby area is a bit confusing to find at first. Our sleep was really good and they were kind enough to make us breakfasts to go since we had to leave early to the airport. The shuttle bus stopp... Read more

This was the perfect place for my four days in Reykjavik. The receptionists were helpful and kind, breakfast was nice, and the rooms and bathrooms were clean. Great location at the end of the main street, but far enough away from bars and restaurants that it's relatively quiet. Every tour I took picked me up here, so they're fairly well-known. I would definitely stay here again.

This is the first time I have suggested guests completely avoid a hotel. The worst aspect of my stay would have to be the two lady's on reception, unhelpful, blatantly rude, aggressive and completely useless. Despite asking the lady (with curls, working mornings and afternoons), to order my return trip to the airport and double checking she had done this twice as well as double checking with her colleague (Natalia), I was left standing in the rain for 45 mins and to ring the bus company from a s... Arrived in Reykjavik very early in the morning. We were able to check in at 11.00 a.m. The hotel is in a very good location at one end of the main street of Laugavegur. Lots of restaurants, coffee shops nearby. The room was adequate - fridge, good television, kettle with meager supply of coffee/tea. Bathroom with shower was very small and smelt of sulfur. Breakfast was in the cafe downstairs and was very good with lots of selection. Food/drink is very expensive in Iceland so it was good to ... Read more

we stay here for 3 nights. Had the inside room with no windows which worked perfect since it never really gets dark this time of year. staff was very friendly. Fantastic location that is within walking distance to everything you need. parking lot is only about 400 feet away. Breakfast each morning was one of the best we had our whole trip. Would defiantly stay here again.

We booked a budget room with no window and shared bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was basic and just what we needed for our trip. The water does smell like sulphur in the taps. The only thing about no window is the room can get a little stuffy. The breakfast was very good, it was a buffet with everything included. It was impressive. We also got a breakfast to go packed for us on the morning we were leaving. The location was very good, a short walk to the main centre. I wo... Read more

We were staying here as a short stopover between the Keflavik airport and an excursion out to Thorsmork early the next morning. It was very good for that purpose. We arrived around 1:30 am and there was a wonderful staff person waiting there for us, as we had indicated that our flight would be getting in at 11:50 pm when we booked our room. She upgraded our room to a large corner unit with wraparound windows and heavy blackout curtains. Room was very comfortable and clean. We slept for a couple ... Read more

This hotel is comfortable, quiet and in a good location for a short stay in Reykjavik. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Rooms are small and have the bare necessities but they are clean. It is a little walk from the center of the city but that distance assures it is a quieter than it might be. Prices are reasonable.

We stayed at the 4th Floor Hotel for our 1st 3 nights in Reykjavik before moving on to Snaefellnes. This was a great location for both exploring Reykjavik and home base for day trips. We had a basic room with no windows, so it was nice and dark, although very warm. A fan would be welcome in these inside rooms. The shared bathrooms were clean. Good breakfast buffet. Helpful and friendly staff. Decent wifi connection.

PROS: The breakfast was amazing -- buffet style with fruits, salads, breads, pastries, eggs, meats, cheeses, etc. Definitely worth the price of adding it to the reservation. Bfast time I believe was 7am-10:30am, but this may have changed. They gave us a packed breakfast to take on our 5:30am flight (had to request day before by 8pmish) -- yogurt, sandwich, juice! The location was great for pickup on tours (came right to hotel door), and the staff were wonderfully nice. Room had a mini fridge, te... Read more

I really loved my stay there. My room was clean and well appointed. Staff was very kind and friendly. It's location is perfect...right on the main drag...shopping and restaurants. I would stay there again, for sure. Breakfast at the cafe was u interesting, but plentiful and good. Would have liked more smoked salmon and pickled herring. That said the cafe was friendly and welcoming. Overall, I give this place an A.
