40+ of us descended on the Regency Suites. The 40+ being a raucous veterans rugby team. From the very beginning the staff were more than helpful. They provided us with beer, never complained about anything and tolerated our daily concerts of tuneless singing. We were here for 4 nights and it suited us down to the ground. The location is perfect for most of the sights with the Danube, Chain Bridge, Buda Castle Funicular, market and the nightlife all within walking distance. The breakfast was in t... Read more

Booked this hotel several months ago based on good score on Tripadsor and a favorable price offer through Trivago/Amoma. However when we arrived close to midnight, we were informed that due to 'waterdamage' we could not get our room but fortunately they also owned another 4* hotel (Arcadia) just around the corner. Due to the time no formal complains were made. However, next morning I checked ... our 'new' hotel scored significant lower and was approx 25% cheaper and furthermore the original hote... Read more

I stayed here as part of a large group on a sports trip and this is a good hotel very centrally located with loads of bars and restaurants very close by. The rooms are modern and everything that you would need except for coffee facilities but not a big deal really. Breakfast is ok and lots of it but the seating area is quite small. Only 1 key per room proved to be a difficulty when sharing like we were. The hotel bar next door is really good and the service excellent. All in all a great place to... Read more

The hotel is nothing even close to a 4 star hotel and is way overpriced for what it is. The service at the front desk was BAD without any intent to listen / care / resolve any issues. The hotel is run down and the general look is disappointing. The gym is a joke.

We arrived late at night and was greeted by the friendly receptionist. The room was ok, plenty of space, nice bathroom. The only thing missing was a tea/coffee making facility in the room. Considering it's rated as a 4* hotel, I'd expect to find this. When I asked about this at reception I was told it's because there isn't a kitchenette in the rooms. Maybe this is a Hungarian thing as every hotel I've stayed in around Europe, there's always been one. Our first night stay in the hotel was h... Read more

Excellent location just minutes away from Metro line 2, and not far from the main station and city centre . 5 minutes walk to the ' Fashion Street'. Rooms are large and comfortable though the carpets are getting a bit worn and the elevator feels ancient . The breakfast buffet is a good spread . There is free wifi . Staff are pleasant and helpful . Recommended.

The Regency is located near Deak Ter, where three metro lines converge. Hence, it's easy to get from the hotel to most places in Budapest. Plus, there are lots of entertainment, site-seeing, and dining options near the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's not often you find staff who always have smiles on their faces, even when it's 11pm and we are just checking into our room after a long day. Hotels in Pest are more on the expensive side, so I compared many hotels before choosing this one, which of course looks great in the professional photos. The price for a room hinted at a 3 star type of hotel (on the expensive end of the spectrum), so after viewing it online I decided to book it. It had been a while since I stayed at a hotel where I kept wandering around avoiding having to go back there and to my room. It's more like a hostel style kind of thing, with a "reception/lobby" that se... Read more

First off the location of Regency Suites is just about perfect, centrally located within walking distance of all the touristy spots and shopping areas and a couple of minutes from Deak Ferenc Ter metro station. Breakfast was good, a decent choice of hot and cold foods and drinks (although not fresh orange juice). The Regency Suites Hotel appears to be a top notch hotel. And it might have been. Once... But it seems as though they haven't really kept up to pace with modern hotel-standards. We stayed in a suite for 4 nights. Decoration and furniture is of the old kind, and when you are in the stairway, it looks like an old communist country. But I guess, it works. Hotel is a little off from what the fotos try to tell you. It's actually pretty run down in certain areas and (to me) left the impression to check in before the iron curtain fell. Nevertheless, rooms are clean and definitely suitable for a couple of days. Staff is friendly, and, as my title states, in probably one of the best locations in Budapest, close to the jewish quarter and nearby a vast amount of cafes, bars, and restaurans.
