I actually decided to rate this hotel where we have been almost 2 months ago because of the greatest breakfast of all times. The more hotels I stay in the more delighted I am about this hotel's breakfast buffet!!! Hungarian corner, pancakes, porridge, great croissants... Among other tasty things. Rooms are also nice, the whole stay was great.

Absolutely everything is wonderful. The room I had was on the smaller side, truth to be told, but it was clean and lovely. The minibar was quite well stocked - though I could have used more chocolates - and their dry champagne was delicious and very affordable. To my surprise, I've got a little chocolate for enrolling in the LeClubAccor as a member and making the reservation online, so you do make sure to do that! The people at the reception, the restaurant and the shops were beyond helpful and... Read more

Everything is average for European standard except staff they were all brilliant , quick and friendly in dealing with you . Also Breakfast is above average . Location : some tourists attraction i.e Buda Castle , fisherman bastion , St Mathias church etc is within walking distance . You will need a travel card to go to down town and ot... Read more

The hotel was very comfortable, rooms quite large with everything you would need. Good lounge area and bar, however, we were a coach party of National Trust members and the food which was presented was very poor. It was shown as buffet style, the meat was very small chicken fillets or pork with pasta no vegetables. The restaurant did have a much wider menu but this was not offered to us. It is such a shame they treat coach parties so poorly when you consider that nowadays the seniors of us a... Read more

Before I start, I just need to remind people that this is not an expensive hotel so don't expect Radisson Blu type amenities. That being said, it wasn't bad. Despite the ad saying that it was recently refurbished it didn't seem like it. The room was clean but dated with obvious signs of wear and tear. The bathroom was small but functional. Previous reviews commented on the air conditioning which did struggle to keep the room cool with it being 31c outside. No problem with noise or comfort of the... Read more

Have been staying in this place on and off for the past three years now and while every stay had some issues, I do believe that service as well as value for money has been, in general, good. Very polite and informative welcome to the property by the evening shift on the 27th (I did use the online check in option so no hassle, no paperwork and probably the fastest check in I have had in any property to date) The room and bathroom were clean (though the bathrobe had some kind of smudges... looke... The room and facilities are fine, the bathroom is a bit dangerous with no rails for getting in and out of the shower. Bed nice and clean, room a bit on the small side but the air conditioning and wifi work well.

Just returned from this hotel after a four night stay! My lasting positive memory was when checking in! The gentleman took a lot of time giving me loads of information on the city which was very useful! He was polite and very helpful which I was very grateful. He was also a trainee which means he deserves even more credit! Well done to him! Whilst checking in we upgraded to a junior suite as the price was quite good, we were promised extra luxuries like bath robes and slippers! When we got to th... Read more

My "Privilege" room had a queen sized bed and a small desk. Aside from the free water I don't really know why this was a privilege room. The room was warm and changing the temp on the thermostat didn't seem to do anything. I've stayed here a number of time and the breakfast didn't really convince this time either. The eggs were pretty industrial as was the bacon. No egg or omlette station. Smallish selection overall. Lots of through traffic and if you have a bag or a PC (I was there on business)... Read more

The hotel is on the opposite side of the Danube to the main city centre in a quiet area opposite a large park. It is a 10 minute easy and pleasant walk to the river or you can catch a tram, bus or metro. We only ate breakfast in the hotel but it was really good. All of the hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful.

A decent 2 nights stay with comfortable room and breakfast meal. One thing we couldn't quite figure out was the setting of the lift - there doesn't seem to be a way for us to 'hold' the lift door open, a handful of us were hit by the lift door pretty hard for a couple of times. Ended up we had to 'timed' ourselves to enter and exit the lift - hope to improve!

The hotel is located opposite a park in a quiet surrounding. Accessible to the city centre by tram, metro and city bus service. Very decent rooms with all basic amenities. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is very good. Will definitely like to stay here when visiting Budapest again. The staff were helpful and courteous.

Stayed here on business. Standard room, a bit on the small side. Has tea and coffee making facilities in room. The breakfast was good and the staff were excellent. The wifi connection worked really well. The hotel is located next to Deli Railway Station on the Buda side of the river at the end of the red underground line, so city centre is accessible by public transport, which is very easy to use, but a bit out of the way if you don't want to use the underground. Overall this is a reliable... Read more

We have decided to use a covered parking to be on the safe side. The surprise came at the end when we had to pay. They did not accept Credit cards nor Euros (cash). We had to go and find an ATM machine to take some forints out. Very frustrating.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. It was a fantastic experience. The metro station is 2 minutes away which would give easy access to the city centre. Staff were very helpful and professional. The hotel restaurant is also very good.

I had read one review which indicates that his large amount of Euros was stolen. So I locked my belongings before I went out to the city for a tour. However, I accidentally left my phone charger on the desk. The charger was gone after our return. While I reported to the receptionist, she was somewhat defensive and indicated she would check "lost and found". How could it be "lost and found'" when it was stolen? A charger does not cost a lot of money. It caused a lot of inconveniences. Worst of al... Read more

Although this is a four star hotel it is looking a little tired in places, especially the carpet in the room and hallway. That said it was very clean, amazing shower, great breakfast, helpful staff. On the whole it was great value and I would recommend it.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a great Rail Discoveries holiday. The location is good in that it is very handy for the Underground, and it is possible to part in front whilst checking in and out. There are also some nice places to eat nearby, including a train wagon which used to be part of the Orient Express. However, our room was a little tired, my husband could feel the springs of the mattress through the fabric, and the pillows were meagre and unsatisfactory. We could get free wifi, ... Read more

The staff is really kind and helpful - that goes for both the cleaners, waiters in the restaurant and receptionists. The rooms are very clean, and the breakfast buffet is amazing. The location is perfect - tram and metro lines very close by, a park across the road for jogging or walking, and just a 10 minutes walk from Castle Hill. We enjoyed our stay at the Mercure and would happily recommend this hotel to others.
