We had an issue on the first night with so much noise in the hallway and door knocking all night. We spoke to the front desk and they were very helpful and managed to change our room and floor without any issues. Unfortunately the neighbour next door woke us up every morning singing while getting dressed. I don't blame the staff for this but the walls are so thin that we could hear the person next door talking on the phone and could hear the person he was talking to! Location for the hotel is ... I spent a few days on a business trip and liked this hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I asked for a nice room and got an excellent room in the 5th floor with plenty of space. The hotel is just 10 minutes walking distance to metro Corvin-negyed.

We stayed 3 nights having read some bad reviews I wasn't expecting much in our budget accommodation , but we were pleasantly surprised, we arrived on a late flight and were efficiently checked in to a suite on the 5th floor . It was clean , spacious and extremely quiet . The hotel is about 15-20 min walk to the town centre but it's a beautiful walk along the Danube and a pleasure to do . Our room was serviced every morning including fresh towels we didn't avail of the hotel food but it did sm... Read more

Hotel is not 4* more of a Travelodge style. Cheap and cheerful. The bathroom was very dated and the room small and the bed rock hard! Not the best but for a cheap weekend break it's ideal. Walking distance to the tube but you can walk mostly everywhere in Budapest. Also recommend always using cabs if your with a group of girls in the evening.

Great location, the staff are really kind, and the room was fantastic. Highly recommended. It is a quiet residential area with shops and restaurants on your doorstep, but with a metro 7-8 minutes walk and 2 main tram routes (4&6) at the end of the street, you can always hang out in and around the hotel after going out and about. Great base, and if you book early, you can get amazing value. Oh, and if your are very lucky, you might run into DD :-)

Me and my missus stopped here for 3 night in May bank holiday. When we arrived be checked in very quick, the woman on reception wasn't very happy but she wasn't rude. When we got to out room we were very pleased, it wasn't massive but there was enough space for the two of us. The bed sheets and towels were changed every day which was amazing, The bed was very comfy and the air con was great. The hotel is as other has described a bit dated. But the location is great for budget travelers. On the Tompa Uta there are several restaurants and bars that has simple meals such as hamburgers/fajitas, etc for 1000-1500 FT and pint of beer for 300 FT. Walking distance (650m) to the Corvin Negyed metro station where you can buy public transport in a ticket machine with several international languages in a with credit card. The facilities were clean and the wifi was free and had a good connection. The lobby was quite large and spacious as well were the rooms. I'd recommend getting a superior room rather than the basic as the basic has a much smaller space / older shower. The ac didnt cool the room, instead it acted like a fan instead.

First of all, the location of the hotel is not in the centre. It's about a 35 minute walk to the main street downtown. Upon check in, we were given a room right at the start of the hall, so it was really loud considering you can hear EVERYTHING in the suite next to you because the walls are paper thin. You can even hear when someone coughs or sneezes in suite next to you. So, after a few minutes we asked if we could switch to a room that is at the end of the hall. Reception said no problem, sinc... â??Hummus is sexyâ?? proclaims the poster on the side of the Leonardo hotel. I have news for the management. It isnâ??t. This is a perfectly acceptable midrange hotel out of the city centre, but near enough to walk or get there inside 15 minutes with a tram or metro. The main clientele appear to be package tourists staying for a night or two before making their way to the next city. Thatâ??s a clue: this is a hotel for a night or two, not more. Itâ??s near to the Holocaust museum and the Museu... Read more

Rooms too small for more than one night. Floors in rooms a bit dusty. We asked for an upgrade for our third and last night. Well work the extra cost, The hotel is dated but I understand they are in the process of updating it. Its a good 30 to 40 minutes walk from the main tourist area. There are a lot of decent places to eat near by.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The rooms are small and there is some noise from adjacent rooms - the only downside of an otherwise nice hotel. The location is good, 10 minutes from the Danube by foot, and near main roads. Lots of local bars/cafes/ice cream parlours - so we enjoyed walking in the vicinity. Breakfast was great! Staff were very friendly, helpful and spoke English well. I would stay again.

The staff at the hotel are not very helpful. I understand some rooms have been updated but not all. The hotel needs updating. Breakfast was ok for one day, but if you are staying longer, they do not change anything on their menu. After 3 days of the same breakfast, you do not want to eat there anymore. Wrote a comment to the hotel manager, never received a reply.

The hotel is okay for couple nights, if your expectations aren't too high. Location is good: close to the tram stops and metro station; there are plenty of restaurants and food stores in the area. The room was small, furniture was very old. The room had two twin-size beds that fit only one (which you may consider good or bad depending on your sleeping arrangements). My partner and I stayed for 8 nights at Leonardo hotel. It has everything you need for an enjoyable and pleasant stay in Budapest. All the staff are friendly and helpful. It is perfectly located near shops, cafés, restaurants and the metro. It is situated in a slightly residential area so you get the vibe of Hungarian city life and its culture. We stayed in Leonardo hotel by Christmas time and it was a disaster from the first minute. We required pick up service from the airport and nobody ever appeared. We took a taxi and arrived at the hotel. When we said to the blond lady on the front desk about that, she kept saying "no you did not", till she had a better look and noticed our request. The Hotel is OK (not more), but to reach the Hotel, one must walk a least 15 minutes from the nearest public transportation station. Next time we will choose a different Hotel. Thus, check the room before occupation, as we found many awkward interiors, doe to the unavoidable limitation when the original building was converted to a Hotel. We accepted only the third trial, where we found enough space to approach the bed and still have room for 2 chairs.

I have stayed at the Leonardo during work travel many times in 2016. The regular rooms are sufficient, but, the Junior Suites are nicer. They have a 24 hr front desk, staffed by competent and nice folks. It seems to be used a lot for tour groups. As such, breakfast between 7 and 8am can be busy. WiFi is free, but, the premium WiFi will be needed for streaming video or audio. It's clean, it has restaurant and bar, and great staff.
