I stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip in April. I previously stayed at the Hilton in the castle district which admittedly has fantastic views but in the end I prefer this location. The staff here were very friendly, helpful and tolerant to our rather noisy socializing well into the morning. Check in and out was easy and they arranged a taxi in the morning to take me to the airport. I was upgraded to the executive floor which included the breakfast buffet which is fantastic. My room ... I stayed for three nights, on 29 April - 02 May, 2016; for business. This was my third stay in the outstanding hotel. The hotel is brilliantly located attached to the West End shopping mall, as such, there is a directly connection to a major transport hub: Nyugati pályaudvar, with access to thesubway system connecting you to all of Budapest. Additionally, the shopping mall contains a variety of shopping options (keep in ming businesses are shut on Sundays), and the mall also has a food hall in... Read more

Great hotel, service outstanding. Close to mall if you like to shop, 15 minute walk to tourist part of city, but easy to catch a taxi etc. Room clean everyday, good internet connection, good security, great cheeseburger from room service! Fast and efficient in everything the staff did. One of the most quiet hotels I ever stayed in, so sleep was easy and unitterupted.

We asked for a room change after our first night as the traffic on the main road was quite noisy. The new room was quiet with a comfortable bed, feather doona and pillows. The extra pillows we requested were delivered with a smile. The executive club room provided an adequate breakfast selection as we generally only have cereal and toast for breakfast. We particularly enjoyed the evening drinks and light dinner because of a good selection of food and it was a treat to watch the sun go down from... Read more

During reservations or looking up for a good property, two things I most care for are: 1.Good room (spacious, clean, comfortable, etc..) 2. Location of the property. This hotel served well for the above and I had a pleasant stay. Good staff and good location. Certain places of interests are just about walking distance (~ 1.5 km).

As expected the Hilton occupies a convenient location on Vaci Ut on the Pest side of the city. Through a side door it is practically attached to a big shopping mall (The Westend City Center). The building is modern and blends in well with the mall. A main train station is a block away, and a large indoor food market is 2 blocks away heading North on Vaci Ut. The main drag, Andrassy Ut (the Champs Elisees of Budapest) is a bit further out (5 blocks West) but still within reach by foot. The room ... Read more

This hotel was selected by the tour company I traveled with to Budapest for its location to the city center. It was clean and the rooms were nice. The breakfast buffet has everything you could possibly want. There is a mall right behind the hotel which is convenient for ATM or last minute sundries. It is a 20+ minute walk to the river or almost anywhere else you want to go. The subway is close by as well.

We stayed here for 4 days in early June. The hotel is lovely and the staff are outstanding. Large, clean, air conditioned rooms. The executive lounge is a wonderful spot to have a cocktail and relax while overlooking the city. The food in the lounge and restaurant was delicious. The front desk staff were very helpful in recommending places to eat, shop and explore. I would highly recommend the Hilton Budapest City.

We were guests at this hotel when our cruise with Avalon Waterways was curtailed because the Danube water level was too high and the ship could not get under a low bridge. The hotel is old but everything was clean and nice. Wifi is a serious issue here. Since 'Hilton!' is a very well known hotel with a good reputation I did not expect '24 hour wifi for 10Euros'. We tried to check out with 24 hrs notice for the two days after the conference, but were charged for those days, even though they were extra after the meeting. Manager refused to compromise.

We booked a junior suite with executive lounge access, as we do usual at 5 stars hotels, in order to enjoy the visit in Budapest. At the last moment my huband couldn't arrive and my daughter joined me to this trip. We expected to enjoy the stay but the incidents during our stay at this hotel, ruined everything. Starting with the luggage, overpriced cabes ordered by the bellboy, and many other incidents. The staff is not motivated and careless about the guest needs and requests. I would like to m... Great staff. Room clean, not high end but better than most. Location was quite good, not central, a good walk to the river and other tourist hot spots but all in a good base to see the sights. Always felt safe in the surrounding suburban area when going for dinner or drinks.

Modern rooms. Clean. Superb staff. If you are a HHonors member you will not be disappointed. This is one of the nicest Hilton's I've stayed in throughout Europe. The executive lounge is nice. My only complaint is the one lady staffer up there was a little too much like a robot!

This was our 4th hotel experience on an Eastern European coach tour that was going to include 6 hotels. We were in very close proximity to city transport and the hotel is attached to a large shopping centre which was very convenient. Both the foyer and the Reception made us feel very welcome. The dining room provided great breakfasts and I would have liked to have tried a dinner there. Our bedroom was great as was the en-suite that had a separate shower. The only minor complaint was that the d... Read more

Stayed there in May. Posting the review slightly late. Hotel has got a good location and is very clean and modern. Staff was great. They went out of their way to help us book ballet tickets. Special mention to Marietta who has been so lovely to us. Will definitely recommend.

A great overall experience with minimal cosmetic and cleanliness issues in the bathroom. Great staff, knowledgable and ready to help in a pinch. Great location to pick up a train, bus or river tour. Such a wonderful city to do business in.

We had a excellent stay. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was quite large and quiet. Great access to all sights with public transportation and taxi. It was actually a plus having it in a mall. I forgot my boots.

My wife and I stayed at thecHilton four nights while in Budapest. We loved being able to walk to most Pest sights and the tram was close by. The included breakfast buffet was quite varied and tasty. The restaurant staff was efficient and friendly. Room was a very comfortable size and clean. Bathroom was equally as nice. Only issue was the internet which would require us to log in each time we left the room.

Typical City Centre hotel convenient for all the major attractions. The room we had was large and adequately furnished but you couldn't say it was modern and stylish. Again the bathroom was large with a bath and separate shower although the drain for the shower was possibly partly blocked as the water filled the shower tray and didn't drain quickly enough. Surprisingly for a multi-national hotel chain they did not accept the euro in settlement of a bill. Amazing really when restaurants and sho... Read more

Central location, rooms are up-to-date and a very nice Executive Lounge. Direct access to a large upscale mall. Front Desk Staff, Executive Lounge Staff & Bell Staff especially helpful ( Bellman Mark was great ). The Front Desk Manager was kind and did not charge me for my first night, due to Austrian Air cancellation of my flight from Chicago to Vienna - I was a no-show at the hotel on October 13 !! Truly a Management Team that thinks with it's heart & head !!

This may be the nicest hotel in Budapest for someone looking for a first class hotel at a reasonable cost. The hotel had a distinctive North American feel and atmosphere but within a comfortable walk to central downtown. It was also structurally integrated into what we understood to be the largest shipping mall in the city. Very worthwhile to gain access to the executive lounge where the food and service were superior.

The hotel is well-located in terms of backing onto the shopping with its food-court and one of the main stations, however, it is 20 minute walk from most of the tourist attractions and restaurants / bars. The welcome was friendly and efficient and the breakfast was good. The rooms were spacious and of the standard that one might expect at a Hilton with the normal facilities, a comfortable bed and a modern and clean bathroom.

Stayed in this hotel with mother just as a weekend away. Being a gold member I was fortunately upgraded so could use the lounge. The actual rooms themselves are very comfy and are a good size. The bathroom is great (always appreciate a separate shower and bath) and the toiletries are nice. The actual executive lounge is a little tired. The breakfast and dinner that they served in here were very good. Plenty of food and variety so no complaints there, only niggling point is the lounge itself ... Read more

Nice set-up. Sadly the expected quality from a Hilton in Europe is not met. Any American would be happy based on my experience with US Hiltons but as ie a Diamond member you don't want to be treated like a once in a lifetime hotel guest. If you are going to Budapest and need to stay at a Hilton, stay away from the City hotel and choose the other one by the Castle

When questioned, bar staff said we had to order eight drinks to benefit from the deal. We took two more drinks and paid 6600! Two more drinks and a 33% reduction. That needs addressing......

We chose this hotel due to it being on the Pest side of the river and were not disappointed. From arrival to departure our stay was excellent. The staff were extremely polite and attentive and the room (junior suite) very comfortable indeed with the biggest bed I have ever seen. We had access to the lounge on the 4th floor which was very nicely furnished with (limited) views towards the river and the Buda side. I would definitely stay there if visiting Budapest again.
