We booked the Hotel Victoria based on reviews we had read and we were not disappointed. We had a river facing rooms with floor to ceiling windows facing the Parliament building and the Chain Bridge. Hotel was very well located; there was a tram stop right in front and the Metro station was a 5-minute stroll away along the Danube. Numerous good restaurants were in the neighborhood within walking distance. Room size was quite generous by European standards though the bathroom was a bit cramped... Read more

I spend two nights here when I went to Budapest for a conference, which I booked too late to get in the conference hotel. The Victorial Hotel was a wonderful surprise. It's in a good location, easy walking distance to the Chain Bridge with a view of the Danube and the Hungarian Parliament building, but very quiet at night. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the breakfast (included in the price) is good, and the staff are simply outstanding. The price was very reasonable. The wi-fi in the hotel... Read more

On a whim we chose the Victoria Hotel. I turned out to be a wonderful hotel with friendly staff and is located on the Buda side of the Danube River, right on the water. Yes there are trolley tracks, the street and a pedestrian walk between your window and the river but the night views of lighted bridges and the Parliament Building are spectacular. This was a private home to a wealthy Hungarian, so they did a good job of preserving the original while adding on to another building. It is small... Read more

Very spacious room with views through the large picture windows to Parliament and the Chain Bridge. Spectacular at night. Hotel staff friendly and helpful and a good cooked breakfast that I didn't realise we had paid for. Next door is the Belgian Brasserie Henri which does excellent meals and has a good selection of beers at very reasonable prices. Trams stop just outside and there is a Metro station a few hundred metres away. Just a note for oldies, we were able to use all the public transport ... Read more

This is described as a boutique hotel. I don't know what that means, unless it refers to the fact that evening meals are not to be had there - which doesn't matter at all as there are many restaurants nearby. To the outward eye the the building is entirely modern. Bedrooms have unusually large picture windows which give an exceptional view of everything - the river, the parliament building on the other side, the trams, the joggers, the roller-bladers and so on. Boutique hotel Victoria is an excellent hotel to stay in for bed and breakfast. Me and my husband visited Budapest recently, we stayed at this hotel for 5days and found the staff extremely friendly, the balcony room one of the best we could have ever stayed and the view of the river Danube was splendid. The breakfast, cereals, bread, fresh fruits and cold meats was just right for healthy eaters with hot, fresh omelettes with ham and bacon if preferred. It's a clean, lively hotel just perfect for... We spent only one night after a cruise on the Danube, but it was a very good choice, My God, what a view we had of the Parliement buildings across the river. Very nice room, clean with large window(lucky we were on the front)The staff at the reception recommanded a resto, 10 min walk and interesting by the atmosphere with the live music and a menu including wines , even desert wine, quite good. The view of the parliament building at night was stunning and with the massive windows it was lovely to fall asleep to! The Hotel Victoria advertises rooms at two rates: the main hotel, which it calls "four star," and the "annex," which it calls three-star. I chose a room at the cheaper rate -- how bad could it be, right? The "annex" is a dilapidated tenement right behind the main hotel. To be fair, the room itself was nice (except for smelling of stale cigarette smoke). The building that this room is in is disgusting. My wife and I have to thank earlier reviewers for pointing us in the direction of Hotel Victoria, a small but beautifully formed hotel. We can fully endorse everything that has been written concerning the quality of service, modern facilities, cleanliness, etc. Also, the hotel's location cannot be bettered, with many of Budapest's treasures within walking distance or, at most, an easy tram ride away. We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. Everything was fine. The location is great, the view to the river. The breakfast may be just a little bit different. I suggest to do service late check-out for additional payment (but it's only suggestion)

Myself and 2 friend stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. From the moment we arrived the hotel was a 'winner', both staff and accommodation were great. Our room with river views on the 6th floor was stunning, everything was clean, comfortable and had been thought of. All the staff were so helpful, advising us on restaurants, travel etc - will be sure to return plus recommend to friend. Very central location convenient for all the sight.

My wife and I stayed there for two nights this month and I wish we would have allocated more time in Budapest. The hotel breakfast was plentiful and diverse and there were many restaurants within easy walking distance from the hotel. My wife also needed medical attention and the front desk staff secured competent, English-speaking resources for us.

Loved, loved, loved this hotel. My son and I recently stayed in a double room with ceiling to floor windows overlooking the Danube and lit up Budapest. The hotel is on the Buda side. Cannot say enough positive things about this small boutique property. We stayed 4 nights but would have booked our entire stay of 8 nights had there been availability. The rooms are comfortable, the reception staff helpful and the buffet breakfast amazing. The value at this property is excellent. There is a ... Read more

My wife and I enjoyed a great 5 night stay in this very special hotel. The location is perfect, close to all the city has to offer - the Chain Bridge is a short walk away so Buda and Pest are easily accessible. And every room looks on to the river, so the views are stunning. We asked for a quiet room on a higher floor and I would recommend room 83. Marvellous view, beautiful decor and spotlessly clean. Breakfast (which was part of our room raye) includes eggs cooked to individuals' prefe... Read more

We had a wonderful stay. The location was central to and walkable from most sites we wanted to see but also right next to the rail if needed. The view of parliament was unbelievable. My favorite aspect was eating breakfast and sipping espresso in the hotel restaurant while enjoying the view. The breakfast spread was beautiful and delicious.

The exceptional service began before we even arrived, with the hotel arranging our pickup from the railway station (taxi driver exceptionally helpful). When we walked into our room and saw Parliament House from our window all lit up, we were amazed. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean. The hotel is within walking distance of many of the Buda side tourist attractions and is also on the tram route, so you can easily get to those attractions you can't walk to. Places to eat nearby and incl... Read more
