went here with my family last december 2016. it is clean. the bus stop is just in front of the hotel. the city view is great. however, i hope they have bidet in their toilet. the hotel's surrounding area has lots of light shops and if you walk one or two streets away there are many restaurants and cafe.

Have to admit that I have ignored bad reviews and decided to book anyway as it was the cheapest option....well - lesson learned. On the arrival which was after checking time, I was told that room was not ready and staff couldn't answer my question on how long I will have to wait. I had to ask few more times before an hour later we have been given keys. Tiny room which definitely seen better days (dirty windows, window seals with mould on it) was waaay to small for the family of 4. Breakfast ... Read more

I visited here for one night with my 3 children and my daughters boyfriend At check in I found the staff unfriendly and not informative. It was our first trip to HONG KONG so we needed lots of information which wasn't forthcoming The room however was very nice and comfortable. Modern facilities and free use of a smart phone with unlimited 3G, calls and text. This was really fabulous. We spent the remainder of our trip in an other hotel as precious planned. Overall there are better hotels fo... Read more

The hotel entrance/lobby is very small and feels so cramped. My mother checked the 5 of us into a family room and the staff seemed quite rude until a staff member who could speak English came to assist. The room was quite big but had 2 double beds and a single in so did feel quite tight. The shower and toilet are only blocked off by a glass screen which has a see-through part on it. You can hear everything through the walls and if someone in the next room gets a shower early then you will be wok... Read more

We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights with friends and we booked their family room with racecourse view. The room is big enough for a comfortable stay. They also provide complete bathroom toiletries, it has a small closet to put in our clothes. The drinks inside their mini-ref were all free. The hotel is well maintained. It is also located to many local stores and restaurants and just a 5 minute walk to Times Square and Causeway Bay train station. The staff were very accommodating and helpful and co... Read more

The rooms are very expensive. The staff very rude and snob. It took them so long to answer our query on why we werent served breakfast, as opposed to the email exchanges weeks during reservation. In the end, their manager rudely called us by the phone and said that the breakfast is not availble anymore. We didnt even get our money back. They werent sorry too. I would not recommend this hotel. Also takes a long walk to nearest train.

First of all I don,t think this is a four star hotel more like a three star one. The hotel is a twenty minute walk from the train station, ten minutes through the actual station and ten minutes outside. My room was ok the walls looked freshly painted, the beds are very hard which I don,t mind to much but if you have back issues you might want to ask for a softer mattress. The staff where pretty aloof the only contact I had with them was check in and check out. Location is good close to good shop... Read more

The VELA was perfect for my family for a one night stay. The front desk receptionists were very helpful and the room was big enough for 5 of us. It only took less than 10 minutes to walk from the Causeway Bay MTR to the hotel and is very close to all the malls/restaurants in Time Square.

When booking through a booking agent , the photos we looked at were very nice. Lovely bright spacious rooms and very modern looking . When we booked in we were informed that our room had been upgraded. When we entered our room we were totally disappointed. The room was very small, only approximatlya 15 square metres and very dark looking. Instead of a spacious room with nice bright white walls, we had a dingy room with brown walls and a brown floor. The only bright spot in the room was the white... Read more

There are certain things i like and i don't like about The Vela hotel but all in all, its worth the money. I Like: - Staff are nice, though not as nice as the previous hotels i had been at, not always smiling but i guess when you are tired, i'd be the same as well - The room is clean, and not too small. I was with my mate whose tall and though the bed is a bit hard, still is way better that other hotels ive read reviews on. - The location is near a wet market and some restaurants. It also has s...
