We appreciated the warm welcome of the staff at Novotel Century and were pleasantly surprised to learn that we got upgraded because of our Accor Membership. The rooms were small but comfortable enough and my son loved the bath tub!

This hotel is the former Century Hotel with a Novotel facelift and branding. In fact, police and porterage personnel all referred to the Century when asked for directions. Hotel services are good as per the Novotel brand. However, the room decor is not to their usual standard. Nevertheless, the great feature about this hotel is the proximity to the HK Convention Centre, via a covered walkway accessible from Level 1 (did not find out until after checking out!). Only the Hyatt and Renaissance... Read more

I've stayed here a few times because this hotel is centrally located in Wan Chai which has many nice bars and is close to many things and nice restaurants. Checking in is a breeze and efficient. The breakfast is adequate for what I paid. You are close to the MTR subway system which is indispensable. The staff is courteous and efficient and tended to every concern. Rooms are a bit tight but this is Hong Kong and my room was good for the price of a 4 star hotel. The pool was a bit chilly but... Read more

We arrived at the wrong door to the hotel and this is easily done as the foyer has three entrances. If you arrive at the correct door the doorman will open the taxi door and the porter will take your luggage so you can book-in. Arrive at the wrong door and you do this all by yourself. I am partially disabled and I struggled with my luggage through the foyer with no assistance. Arriving at the desk, there was no understanding, the gentleman behind the counter went to his office and left the lady ... Read more

the first thing i noticed was that the restaurant was packed on a tuesday! Reviewing the buffet, it is one of the few buffets to offer raw oysters at lunchtime. There was a really good selection of food from sushi/sashimi to international main courses through to movenpick ice cream and excellent strong fresh coffee.

I cannot say that the service is bad, but definitely I don't feel that the hotel appreciates your business. They completely forgot my morning call and I missed an important meeting. I have stayed at this hotel for a few times and a gold member of the AccorPlus.

I stayed here as I had a 24 hours stop over in Hong Kong on y way to China. Rather than paying a stupidly overcharged airport hotel I decided to come to this place as I had plenty of hours between planes. Fantastic location so close to causeway bay and all the buzzing and activity of Hong Kong CBD. Rooms a little on the small size but clean enough and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and caring. Tip catch the fast train to Hong Kong station and from there get a taxi to the hotel, the tax... Read more

We stayed 3 nights at the Novotel and everything went very smoothly from check in to concierge assistance and the friendly approach from Queenie in the premier lounge. After sightseeing around humid Hong Kong it was a pleasure to return to our room and relax or have a swim in the outdoor pool. The location of the Novotel Central was very good. Easy access to the Star Ferry to Kowloon and the double decker tram. I recommend the tram ride as a good cheap way to view Hong Kong Island from east to ... Read more

On the plus side the hotel is in a great location, not far from the MTR, the tram and the Star Ferry terminal. The pool area is nice. The room was clean. The staff were polite. But perhaps because we'd come from another hotel in a different location, and I know it's unfair to compare, I felt that this hotel was really lacking. The room was small and the air con didn't work very well so it felt constantly damp (my swimming costume was still damp over 24 hours after wearing it) and there was a per... Read more

The only location is good about this hotel. It is close to everything in the City but it is very tired property and it needs at least some basic room renovation. The room curtains and floor were very dirty. Terrible for Novotel level. The same "level" last time I have seen in Novotel in poor developing country Fij. Did not expect to see that in HongKong.

The Hotel is a 5 min walk from Wan Chai station. It has 3 entrees, they are all good but only one gives you access by car. The Lobby looked amazing, bright, clean and had a nice fresh smell. All staff in the Lobby greeted us and gave us a smile and not only on arrival. We arrived around lunch time but already could check in. The Novotel Wanchai was a great location with easy access to the metro and Central if needed. I was planning a weekend in HK on the way to Europe and knew that I would have to work for much of the weekend. A premier room on the executive floor was ideal. The executive lounge was fantastic and the staff very helpful. I would upgrade to the executive floor every time.

[NB this review is from April 2015 - forgot to upload sooner!] We stayed for 3 nights and it did the job we wanted it for, even if it lacked a little in personality. It was well located (nearest metro is Wanchai). It's about a 10 minute walk from the metro which some people may find a bit much but was fine for us. I found the address misleading - it claims to be on Jaffe Road which is true but a little hard to find. There is also an entrance on Lockhart Road, one block closer to the metro and a... Read more

We arrived at the hotel about 8am after a 12 hour intercontinental flight with no sleep. I had advised the hotel approximately 4 months earlier of our intended check in time and being a Gold Accor member was assured that pending room availability it shouldn't be a problem. This is a good hotel well placed in popular Wanchai District. It is clean and well appointed with good, friendly and welcoming service. We have stayed many times in the past. Dining is good. The rooms are spacious and clean. We did notice with this stay that the hallways to the rooms were devoid of furniture, plants and decoration which gave the hotel a sort of bland/sterile feel. We should have commented at the time as the hotel may have been going through a form of refurbishment.

We enjoyed our time in Hong Kong. This is a very standard Novotel, (Europe standard) not like some others in Asia which are way above. The hotel is centrally located but is quite tired and the rooms are tiny (I suppose expected in Hong Kong). A top place to stay on Hong Kong Island. Handy location generally, and the convenience of the MTR Airport Railway shuttle bus stop being at the Jaffe Road entrance to the hotel is so, so good. Helpful, friendly service staff made our time in HK more enjoyable. We will be back in March 2017.

Mine was a short business trip to Hong Kong. Novotel served my purpose perfectly. Nice clean hotel, with an ok room and very helpful staff. Located in the Wanchai area and just a short taxi ride to the harbour front and central. Would definitely recommend for business trips though the hotel was also popular with holiday makers as well.

Located a short distance from the train station that services the airport. From the station there is a complimentary shuttle bus. We paid a little extra for a Premier room on the Executive floor & the extra cost was well worth it. The room was spacious and had a nice view of the city. The bed was extremely comfortable & the bathroom was clean & well maintained. Premier rooms have complimentary use of the executive lounge for late afternoon snacks & drinks as well as breakfast. I spent a week here recently on a work trip which I extended for personal reasons. The hotel is conveniently located for Wanchai MTR, but its in Wanchai so you have to bear in mind you will be running the gauntlet of the nearby girlie bars and love hotels to get to and from most places. My wife and I experienced a couple of problems with the room. The first set of pillows we had were dirty and smelly, however they were promptly replaced when we raised our concerns. Of greater concern was that on... Read more

The Pros - It does have a nice well equipped gym Close to the MTR station (about 5/10 minute walk) Close to the Star Ferry port (about 5/10 minute walk) The Issues - Building work opposite the hotel which started VERY early (expect on Sunday), the hotel did change my room once I mentioned this. Not the best service, I checked out in the morning and returned later (Night Flight) when I asked if there was somewhere I could get changed, the concierge told me 'There is a room on the second floor... Had a terrific stay, centrally located in Wan Chai, the Novotel had excellent service and was close to all the major areas of HK including Causeway Bay, Central and train stations. The staff were very helpful with all requests. Highly recommend getting a room with lounge access, the food and drinks were great, as you take in the amazing views.

Standard Novotel hotel. Rooms typical small Hong Kong sized. Executive rooms booked giving access to small, simple but adequate club lounge with helpful staff and great place to escape hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. I stayed in this hotel with my family. We rented out 2 rooms on the 13th floor. My sister's room was bigger and they had an extra bed out because of my niece.Their bathroom had a rain shower and lots of toiletries. My room (I am sharing with my mom) is smaller but I had the bath tub. This is the 3rd time I have stayed at this hotel. I haven't returned due to it being exceptional, but because its near friends. In future, I will try a few other Accor properties, as this one just doesn't do it for me. Rooms are extremely dated and tired. Typically small which should admittedly be expected in this area. Front desk and concierge are really helpful, however this is then let down by the service at breakfast in the buffet restaurant. There is nothing specifically wrong with this h... Read more

Stayed in this hotel with my wife and 4 year old kid. We got a mouth watering deal with breakfast for 3 and grabbed it as soon as I saw the offer. LOCATION: Perfect, just 5 minutes walk from the MTR and a 10 minute walk from the central shopping district of Causeway Bay and not very far from major attractions on HK Island (e.g. Peak, Ocean Park). ROOM: Room was on the smaller sized (I think this is typical of hotels in South Asia) and the bed was on the narrower side too, but very comfortable.... Read more

I've stayed at this hotel several times and the staff are always excellent. Location is great. Its in Wan Chai and there are many restaurants nearby especially if you like Chinese food. Also, its very close to the Star Ferry which is a great way to get across to the Kowloon side. Further, it is a very quiet hotel. You really can't even hear people talking outside in the hall! The location is convenient as it's near to the subway, malls and eateries. The room is small and the bathroom doesn't come with a tub. Overall it's an acceptable place to spend the night during non peak season. However during peak season, e.g. when there are conventions in the area, the price can go up as much as 3x that of the non peak season, and there are other hotels in the area that offer better value.

I think this place would be better for business rather than holidays. The rooms are okay. Comfortable beds and they offer amenities found anywhere else. The breakfast buffet is pretty good. There are a lot of different kinds of food and the taste was better than most hotel buffets I've had. The fitness center is very nice. It's much better than I've seen in hotels in the same price range. The pool area is really small. It's good enough for doing laps but if you want to hang out, there's real... Read more

I took an executive room at this hotel. Good value for money and the room was great. The hotel is quite busy and the staff are attentive and friendly. Executive lounge is small but well run and functional. It is quite busy in the mornings. There seem to be a lot of business travelers at this hotel. I assume due to the very reasonable rates and great location. Can't go wrong !!

Sadly this hotel lacks a few of the basics that you would want at this price point, starting with attention to detail. Upon checking in we discovered crumbs on the countertop and oil stains on the pillows. Not little ones or hidden on the flip side, great big oil stains. Best not to dwell on those - at least the covers were replaced swiftly. The rooms are small, towels had holes in them and the toiletries lack those extras that set hotels apart (conditioner, cotton-tips etc). The bed, though... Read more

This was one of the most disappointing hotel stay. First my room was full of finger nails on the floor upon checking in. Next , called the operator and they sent in the housekeeper & one admin staff who helped me to change room. You can walk undercover on an elevated walkway to the convention centre. As we had been to Hong Kong before we did not need to see the tourist sites. We booked this hotel as it was centrally located in Wan Chai. The hotel was up to our expectations in every respect and the Club facility on the Premium (23rd floor) was worth the extra we paid. We particularly enjoyed being able to walk everywhere, including to the Star Ferry Terminal, Times Square and even to the Bus stop to go to Stanley. We weren't particularly impressed with the buffet, but it didn't get in the way as there were other dining options, both within the hotel and externally.

Room is of good size (take note that hotel rooms in HK are usually small) - clean and good amenities. There are plenty of good restaurants, cafes around the hotel. MTR station is abt 5-10 mins walk.

And also as a platinum on Accor membership, I got fully supported from management team. Especially Ms. Hilary Wong shared her advises how to travel what to eat etc. She even provided me with a list of recommendable restaurant nearby, memorable spot I should drop by.
