My husband and I stayed at Garden view for two nights. When I made my decision, there are three hotel in my choices. I chose Garden View because cheaper, location, near garden and clean. However, I should accept that the room is small, no wifi in the room just only in lobby. These are what happened to us :- We arrived at night and realise that the hotel is in the same building as YWCA. This made us feel good. The hotel staff at the check in counter was very nice and polite. The time tha... Read more

This hotel is fine although the pool was under maintenance - this was not announced on the site where I booked from. My only gripe is that 5 weeks since they billed my credit card including an unannounced returnable deposit they have STILL not returned that deposit. My advice is to refuse to pay it on your credit card - give them cash which can be immediately returned. They have not made any contact with me to explain the delay. Very unprofessional. I think I can kiss that deposit ($65 USD) good... Read more

Clean, quiet and value for money for HK. Comfortable size room with good bath and shower with plenty of hot water. Usual toiletries, safe and hair drier. Our 7th trip to KH and this was the firmest bed yet. Pool out of action during our April stay but free wifi - at least with our booking. Staff polite but reserved as always seems the case. Stamps and posting provided and large notes changed. Cystern leak dealt with very quickly. Very close to beautiful HK park but perhaps too high up for short ... Read more

I spent 9 nights at the Garden View for my first trip to Hong Kong. I was attracted by the value of the hotel, its position and the positive comments here at TripAdvisor. I was not dissapointed. Staff were always friendly and courteous. Room was plenty large enough with a Tea & Coffee making facility and a Mini Bar. Bathroom toiletries were also good quality and plentiful. The room had a firm but comfortable bed and the in room free wifi was reliable. **Travel tips** There is a reataurant on... Read more

This was our second stay here and we will be visiting again next week. The rooms are clean and enormous by Hong Kong standards. The lobby lifts etc all nice an well maintained. The swimming pool was open this time, it had been closed on our last visit and was nice and refreshing in the heat of the day. The only disadvantage as I mentioned previously is that is a bit of a walk into Central but the walk is nice through the Botanical gardens and Hong Kong park. Besides the exercise is probably need... We have experienced the worst customer service ever at this hotel. There is no porter to help with the luggage, asked for a taxi and they refused to help us and even told us to go outside and "shake our hands to take a taxi", we asked for a bed sheet and they said that they don't have. I will never recommend it to anyone!

Not sure where the positive reviews are coming from. I am a regular Hong Kong and China traveller and booked this hotel based on reviews I read. I was very disappointed. Staff rather unfriendly and check in clerk approached me with a terrible smoke breath. The entire hotel in in dire need of renovation. The workout room is rather limited, the pool a total joke (very small, poorly kept, and horrible view). There may be room with a 'garden view', mine looked on a neighbouring building, an ugly one... The hotel is safe and clean. By HK standards it is also relatively inexpensive. The rooms are perfectly fine. By HK standards they are larger than average at that price. They could do with a bit of modernising but it doesn't ruin your stay unless you like to stay in the newest decor. Same with the pool. Nothing fancy but it is clean and a welcome relief from the heat of the day. The location is worth thinking about. On a map it is close to central. This is very convenient. However, this is a... I stay in a lot of business hotels and this hotel is close to 5 star with a 2 star price tag. Lovely rooms, great views, free wifi, nice staff. Has a pool, gym and breakfast included. Plenty of restaurants in Coda Plaza next door.

I was doing my thesis project when I booked this hotel. It is near the central and near the churches that I documented. If you love walking to/ from the hill, then this hotel is for you. If you are a nature-lover, you'll enjoy this place. No need to worry about the food because there is a supermarket behind the hotel. I booked the cheapest room with no outside views but when I got there; they gave me a deluxe queen room with 2 beds and with a garden view, since my "supposedly" cheap room was giv... Read more

Stayed here for five nights and paid a good price. Didn't use its restaurant but it does have a small supermarket which I suggest to avoid mini bar fees. The hotel is clean, modern and has fantastic views. I would stay again. My only gripe is that it is not a 'central' hotel as advertised but it is on the mid levels. This is fine but the walk back is steep and arduous so a taxi is required but from central station the cost is between 20 and 40 dollars. This didn't bother me but if you a... Read more

I booked this hotel few weeks prior to our arrival and communicated with them via email. Yvonne Mak (reservations) was very accomodating and prompt to reply in any of the queries we had. We were even given future credits on the day that we were not able to stay inspite of the no show and no cancellation policy. They went above and beyond to help us. The transaction was very smooth and I give thumbs up for the wonderful experience we had on them handling everything. They are extremely great profe... Read more

I extended my stay on this hotel for both over my stays there whilst in transit in Hong Kong. It's on the island and has the HK zoo directly opposite. You can watch the Harbour light show from the room and it's CLEAN, with carpeted floors!! Smoking is not allowed in the hotel so it's smells great and I felt as though I was in the Marco Polo which I recently stayed in... for a third of the price!! The breakfast is great, hash browns, baked beans, croissants, cereals, yoghurts, fruit, chinese brea... Read more

Great apartment with separate bedroom and kitchen/living room. The bathroom was not accessed from the bedroom but from the hallway instead. This is good because, with jet lag, one person might be sleeping and the other awake. The apartment was great and the staff were really helpful. Located in a very up-market residential neighbourhood but a bit far from the nearest station (Admiral) (about 15 minutes walk). It was very easy to get a taxi right outside and taxis are cheap in Hongkong.

Stayed for 9 nights and it was just perfect. there is a fairly big supermarket in the same building ("fusions") open till 10pm where you'll find pretty much everything you need foodwise. My room was 708 which provided a very spectacular view of Hong Kong's skyline. The only thing I didn't like much was their breakfast buffet (wasn't included but we went once) it wasn't worth the HK$ 130. Other than that super quiet hotel, friendly staff, I would highly recommend Garden View and stay there again ... Read more
