We stayed in a Grandluxe room for 2 nights. So on arrival we got to check in upstairs in the business suite in comfort with lovely staff who spoke excellent English. Our room was lovely and big, clean and comfortable. We had available all day snacks and soft drinks in the business lounge, then from 6-8? Alcohol and canapés included in our room package, this was very nice. The pool area is very clean with 2 staff members watching over at all times. The buffet breakfast was plentiful with a chef ... Pretty unwelcoming experience from the start. No bellboy to assist with luggages and no one to open the doors even there were staff standing around trying avoid eye contact. Booked for a room with three single beds but it was so small that the luggages could not even be rolled into the room. Only after insisting to talk to the manager that the manager changed the room for us. The rooms were also so outdated, at least ten years with no renovation.

In one of the world's most crowded cities, decent hotels at a reasonable price are not easy to find. As a business traveller, convenience and price compliance are key requirements. This hotel meets these needs very well. With quite spacious rooms, a great restaurant for dinner, and conveniently located at North Point near the MTR, it is a good choice. Tim Ho Wan is one block down the road too - the cheapest Michelin star restaurant on earth! Lunch for 2 - about $25 USD.

This hotel is about 5 mins from Fortress Hill MTR station but a bit far out from the tourist bits. We stayed here on our second visit & chose to be close to a friend's apartment so worked well for us however would rather have stayed in TST. The hotel was clean & tidy but could do with a bit of upgrading - walls & carpets were a bit tired. All staff we came into contact with were very helpful and courteous. We were in HK for a wedding and our host booked the hotel for a group of us. Before our arrival, we had our doubts about the hotel...we thought it was priced too high for the area and that it would turn out to be one of those tour operator hotels with bad service, worn linens etc. But boy, were we wrong! It turned out to be a really pleasant stay and even though it was in the outskirts, it was in a really convenient area. The subway was within walking distance, there was a market nearby, lots o... Complimentary bottles of water, water heater and instant coffee makes it a nice touch for being away from comfort of home. There are plenty of decent nearby restaurants within 10 minutes of walking distance in either east or west direction. There is a decent gym and swimming pool on second floor. Average rooms. Has all you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was ok with fairly good spread. Was very crowded, so check in, breakfast was a little bit of a war zone. Loads of chinese tourists- can get loud especially when they have floor parties. But they were at least entertaining to watch. Staff were polite but average service at best. Maybe because I looked like a chinese tourist?! Best service came on the last day- ironical when I was about to leave. Concierge guy was pleasant, helpful... Read more

The hotel is conveniently located a short walk from Fortress Hill MTR, making it easily accessible. The rooms are spacious for an HK hotel in this price range and well-appointed. I had a higher (20th) floor room facing north, and there was little to no exterior noise, though the hallway doors aren't exactly sound-proof. This is a review of the buffet on the first floor and no the excellent Tue restaurant which is a Hong Kong Michelin Star winner. This buffet costs over US$50 so one would expect not only good quality food but excellent presentation. I arrived at 8:30 so hardly a time when availability of food lines would have been an issue. The main part of the hotel was lovely and the reception staff really nice and friendly. The public areas of the hotel were really nice and the restaurant was very good The cleaning of the room was not up to the standard I was expecting but saying that it did not spoil my holiday.

With Hong Kong's MTR subway/train system the location of this hotel is pretty good. Lots of businesses, apartments and even some homeless nearby but the hotel setting is nice and except for the really expensive sections of HK, you'll get this anyway. Lobby is really only 3 star class, adequate but not splashy. But the service, friendliness, room, breakfast buffet is very good. The room itself was good size. Had a sitting bench of sorts all alone the window which was comfortable and nice. M... Read more

Located in the Forest Hill area of Hong Kong the Garden City hotel offers a good value and a comfortable room to rest. Like many Chinese hotels Garden City offers a comfortable room, firm bed and great breakfast buffet for travelers. There is plenty to see right around the hotel, including some great restaurants, some of which open late, in typical asian style. There is a subway stop just 2 blocks away, with a major bus stop as well, allowing you to access all of Hong Kong easily. There are ... Read more

I stayed 5 nights and paid extra for the Club facilities. Having stayed in 5 star hotels in Thailand before coming to Hong Kong then the City Garden was disappointing. It took over 30 minutes to check in. The room was an adequate size but the decor was drab and the storage space for non hanging clothes was extremely poor. The Club facilities on the 25th floor were small and the snacks available very ordinary. The good point was that the staff in general were very helpful and the room was kept ... Read more

City garden hotel is a very nice hotel for the money. The rooms are clean and quiet, the staff is friendly and efficient. It boasts a Michelin star Chinese restaurant, a nice size pool, new gym and jacuzzi. Received a call from their club membership to inquire about my stay and recommendations for the future. I was impressed with their follow up while we were there. I would highly recommend this hotel especially for an extended stay in a city that can be quite expensive.

Not Impressed! We moved from Kowloon to stay on the island for a change. The hotel was quite a bit more expensive than our previous hotel (expected) but the reception staff were not close to being helpful. With hindsight, I would have stayed on in Kowloon. Although situated on the island, this hotel is no more conveniently located and far less friendly..

Very Beautiful Hotel. Great location to Fortress MTR, about about 4-5 minute walk. Plenty of cheap eats nearby. The room was clean and we got fresh towels and sheets daily without asking. Wifi and a cellphone was included which was a plus, and they even held our bags after checkout until we had our flight the next day. I'm not sure if I'd say it was overpriced, being that it was my first time in Hong Kong, I'd say it was reasonable. There was a pool, but I didn't see it because the hours were li... Read more

access to transportation-fantastic. Took me 50 mins from airport train to walking into hotel lobby (Off hours traffic, and lucky timing). Staff friendly and helpful. Lots of restaurants around. Hallways quiet even with lots of guests in lobby. I would recommend this hotel based on these factors On the slightly down side....rooms bit dated, but not so important. Air Cond was odd. Brutally cold, no matter what temp i set it at. so it was either ON or Off. Towels never dried due to humidity, ... Read more

Lovely quiet room. Could not hear anything of the world outside my room. Excellent service. Easy transport access in a residential neighbourhood. Very clean. Couldn't have asked for more from my stay in Hong Kong.
