Spend 3 nights at this relatively new hotel located well within walking distance from Tin Hau MTR station. I am familiar with this area and has previously stayed at Somerset Victoria which is another block down the same street. Personally , I would rate this hotel a notch better than Somerset for its location , room and the service. As always , HK hotels are typically small , yet very functional in terms of the layout and I thoroughly enjoy my short stay here. Of late , I realized that the newe... Read more

Pros: one of the very few hotels I stayed in in HK with the option of firm pillows. Individual aircon unit with control. Comfortable shower. Respected DND sign by not ringing and asking if I wanted cleaning. Cons: really small room, tiny bathroom, no luggage rack.

OK, the room was small and there wasn't much room to hang clothes, but this is a bright, clean, very modern, comfortable hotel in a very convenient position. Victoria Park is 2 minutes walk, the MTR is also 2 minutes away and the area has all the shops and restaurants you could want, including a brilliant bakery for breakfast croissants. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. The free phone is a great idea.

Colleague had warned me the room was "Toyoko Inn" small, i should correct her. Toyoko Inn had larger rooms. Whilst there were larger rooms available, if i had to pay that price, i would have chosen somewhere else. Toilet was tiny, bed was too soft, and the room was very dark.

Stayed here in April 2016 and was looking for something clean, modern and well priced in a good location on the island side of Hong Kong. This ticks every box. Yes, the room is tiny but it's clean and modern and in Hong Kong you're only going to be using it for sleeping in anyway. The hotel is located a stone's throw from the Tin Hau MTR station making it incredibly easy to get around, plus trams run past the front entrance. It's a smallish low-key hotel. Rooms are no smaller than usual for HK. Good layout with storage fitted in. Spotless, comfortable beds. Excellent shower with great water pressure. Staff helpful, provide a power bank for your phone, a handy phone to use in HK. I found the location great - it's 2 min from Tin Hau MTR station and probably 1 min from the tram. The area around the hotel has plenty of local bakeries and cafes, great noodles, custard buns etc. There are a McDonalds and a Pacific Coffe... Read more

We travelled to HK for the first time this May and chose to stay at this hotel bcoz of very good rating on Tripadvisor. Stayed for 6 nights and very happy we didnt go wrong with our decision. The rooms are small compared to hotel rooms in few other Asian countries but very very clean. Housekeeping is very good too. However bathroom doors dont have latches..so families with kids may need to keep that in mind while booking. We were initially on the lower floor but got a free upgrade (thanks to M... Read more

Love the smartphone that comes in package. It is very helpful especially in finding places. Also near to mtr, just 5mins walk from the hotel. The staff are also nice, she helped us puck a taxi in going back to airport, we left the hotel at around 5am. The room is a bit small as compared to several room hotels ive been into. But the rest of our stay is ok.

Butterfly is located approximately at the end of Causeway, next Tin Hua Metro Station. The Hotel's rooms are clean but too bad that the rooms are so small. At the ceiling had a leak caused by a defect air conditioning that did not really worked properly all the time. The hotel is basic in term of lobby decor and room, but it make up for the central location and close to public transport link. The hotel staffs are helpful, efficient and friendly. The cheapest room is rather small but it clean and it has all the usual hotel amenities, kettle, tea and coffee etc. If... Read more

Perfect location, 2 mins walking from tube station and only 3/4 stops from Hong Kong city centre. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean but do not expect a big room, this is Hong Kong and they are running out of space. Outside the hotel there is a small pub/bar called drunkenland, do not drink there, it's a rip off.

My friend and I stayed here for our first visit to Hong Kong. We were on a tight budget and this hotel was a little more than a usual backpackers so we didn't know what to expect. We were really surprised and happy with the room. The room was modern and fitted with all needed for a convenient stay as well as the handy mobile was really appreciated. The hotel is located right on the subway and tram line. Great stay would recommend!

This is a small hotel even by Hong Kong standards, but very clean, comfortable king size bed, friendly helpful staff. It's in a great location away from the main tourist strips which is refreshing if you are looking for the local feel. The hotel is well positioned with many restaurants - all styles, close to MTR and tram is at door it's actually perfect for our style of travelling.

Great location, very accommodating and nice staff, nice lobby area. I don't have an issue with small rooms in Hong Kong as long as they are intelligently designed and very functional within the space. I have to say I found my room disappointing on this front - awkward bathroom layout / closet/ etc. This might have been a temporary issue but there was a huge scaffolding (?) in front of my window and the room was completely dark no matter what time of day. I think for the price range there are bet... Read more

Taxi drivers may not know the hotel, make sure you have the address or state the closest MTR station, they can easily check with that information. Short walk from the MTR station (Tin Hau station), it is also close to a tramway (Ding Ding) stop, a mode of transport that one should try in HK. Lots of eating places within short walking distance. Hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. Room isn't too big, but cosy and comfortable for two. Room is very clean as well.

As we walked in very late at night after almost a day of traveling, we were pleasantly surprised by Butterfly on Victoria as we entered the lobby. It's smelt very refreshing, almost spa like, and felt very welcoming. We were checked in very easily and headed up to our room. The room itself was a little disappointing. For one night we paid a little over $300 USD and it was literally a room big enough for just the bed and room to walk around the bed with a bathroom on the side. They mentioned duri... Read more

There is kettle in room and also two free bottle of water provided every day .Staff were very friendly . Location is excellent for tube , Victoria park with indoor public swimming pool and shopping at causeway bay . All within short walking distance .

I always stay at the Butterfly on Victoria when I visit HK! It's very well located and a 2 min walk to the trains. The rooms are always tidy and clean! The bonus this trip was the free 4g pocket wifi which is free of charge and means you don't need to get a sim if you don't need to make calls. The staff are always accomodating and speak very good English, they even hold the door open for you on occasions. If your looking for good value and a good all round hotel stay here!

This mid-range hotel was all we wanted and more - clean and confortable, and conveniently located near an MTR stop (Tin Hau). But the best surprise is the mobile phone that comes with the room. You can take it with you as you tour to have access to internet, Google Maps, and local phone calls. This was a tremendous resource for our trip which allowed us to get where we wanted to go more quickly, look up interesting facts about what we were seeing, and enjoy our visit much better. This hotel has small, but clean and comfortable rooms. The location is perfect! Mtr 2 minute, tram 2 minute, a lot of buses also. There are shops, exchange offices, coffe and bakery few steps. There is a locally usable smartphone in the room, you can use it, take away it during your stay. So, you can navigate, browse limitless. Noise protection OK, cleaning OK. There is a Pacific Cafe under the hotel: show your roomcard, and get a free cafe. Great!

We visited couple places in Asia during our trip, we stayed in three different hotels, this was by far the worst one. There was mold in the bathroom - under the sink and inside the shower. The toilet wasn't clean when we checked in. The room was small as expected but so thirty. There was a hair on the pillow. We booked the window room with extra fee, but they were having a construction during our stay - we couldn't even see anything except the scaffolding out the window. This is not the ... Read more

Nice hotel, but we were surprised, how small the rooms are according to the average european hotel rooms. But it's HK, so you have to be prepaired that mostly the hotel rooms are smaller. But the room was nice, the staff was very very helpful and kind! There is no breakfast service at the hotel, but near you find some places to eat. (McDonalds, Starbucks, 7 eleven, some cafes, etc) There was a free wifi and a free cell phone, but we used only the wifi. There are some construction works, so from ... Read more

This hotel is a two minute walk from Tin Hau MTR, which is on the Eastern side of Victoria Park. As well as the MTR, the tram and buses are also nearby and all public transport is very affordable. The location suited our tourist visit to Hong Kong. There are several chain restaurants between the hotel and the MTR and nearby Electric Road has even more variety. This means that the absence of it's own restaurant is no disadvantage. We stayed in a corner room on the 19th floor although like many ... Read more

If you are looking for room in Hong Kong without the use of the likes of an onsite restaurant and/or pool I highly recommend this hotel. Modern, trendy, extremely clean and excellent service... I cannot fault it. Location is excellent with it being only a two minute walk from the Tin Hau metro station, you can get anywhere incredibly easily. The bright lights and shopping at causeway bay is only a 10 minute walk if you do not want to use the metro. The area itself has lots of great restaurants... Read more

We stayed recently for 8 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff were helpful when needed, the room was nice and clean, the location had great access to public transport, nice eating places within walking distance as well as Victoria park to chill out. This was our 4 th visit to Hong Kong and our second time at a Butterfly Hotel. We will definitely stay at a Butterfly Hotel again. The only downside was the shade cloth covering the building for external renovations blocked our vie... Read more

I Have A Confession, I'm A Butterfly Lover, I can't get enough of these hotels, I spent two night (nov 8-10) Butterfly on Victoria is just as amazing as their other properties. The Staff should be given awards, very welcoming, efficient, professional and really helpful, outstanding staff. As for the property , I was hesitant Of location, but after visiting I've realized it's good spot, it's so close to MTR, plopped in a very eclectic and vibrant community of local shops, eateries offering great... We were staying in downtown Hong Kong on a recent trip and got caught in a Tycoon. With all the flights cancelled for a 3 day period, we requested a reservation at the highly rated Butterfly on Victoria. As it turned out, some friends in Hong Kong took us in during the storm. Due to the unusual circumstances surrounding this major storm, the hotel refunded our "non-refundable" deposit!! The location is pretty good, about 5 mins walk from Tin Hau station (MTR Island Line). The room size is decent given the price, and all basic amenities (slippers, toothpaste etc) are provided. Hot water in shower comes quickly and good water pressure too! Deco in the lobby is trendy; and in the room more "conventional". Staff was very helpful as we had quite a lot of enquiries. The portable wifi device works very well. We (me and 7 year-old son) had a pleasant stay.

We were booked here last Nov. 25~28, 2016. Check-in was quick. I thought our room (pure air executive room) would be small based on the photos but was surprised on how comfortable it was. The size was just right for my son, my husband & I. The room & the property is very clean & well maintained. The hotel is surrounded by local restaurants & a McDonald's. You will not get hungry here.
