Good hotel with good staff. We had a room on the 18th floor for 6 nights with a view of the racecourse on one side and Wan chai on the other which was great but the windows of the housing flats next door are right there so we had to keep the curtains closed at times. Great location and very nice rooms, the bed was really firm and the water leaked out of the shower across the floor but these were the only minor issues of a great stay.

Situated within 3 minutes walk from Times Square Causeway Bay, the hotel is at a perfect location for business or leisure at a very reasonable rate. The room I had was clean and overlooks the Happy Valley Race Course. Wi-fi is complimentary and other services include a laundry service, tour arrangements, and 24-hour front desk. I would definitely recommend it to anyone and will not hesitate to stay here again.

This hotel is simple but centrally located in Causeway Bay. Our room was a good size with a great modern bathroom. The handy phone the hotel provided us was incredibly useful when getting around the city! Small gestures like fresh toothbrushes and toothpaste every morning made our stay incredibly comfortable. The views from our window were breathtaking. I'd recommend this hotel for people visiting HK for the first time, and I'd stay here again on my next trip.

This was my 2nd time staying here. Nothing had change since my last stay in June last year. Their check-in process was very fast & smooth which I should give a thumbs up (even when I checked in past midnite). Staffs were not that friendly compared to the last time my stay there. This time I need to highlight that they should think of improvement on the toilet door as it's not appropriate if you are staying not as a couple. There's a gap whenever you closed the toilet there and you can be se... Read more

PLUS: Very special hotel, good location, amaizing breakfast and good service Many local restoreants around and close to the shopping area. Very easy and fast to get from Column area over the bridge to the hotel, for me it took 10-15 minutes on the taxi. The only one thing made me sad is rain:) Slight minus: The hotel bar took а first place between others on the coffee price. Refigerator has no space for your own goods.

We wished we had more nights booked at the Butterfly. Our city view room gave us a bit more square footage than the typical room. It gave us a decent view of the Happy Valley Racecourse. We were able to check in and out efficiently and provided a clean and comfortable one night stay. My only is that we didn't stay here for longer as we had a nightmare of a stay a few blocks away two weeks prior.. for about the same price for one night!

Very clean and modern room with everything you need. Also nice bathroom, interesting view through huge window glasses, and the location is excellent, close to Causeway Bay MTR station. The killer was the free 3G / Wi-Fi Smartphone included in the room rate, so I was reachable anywhere in town, and I could use the internet for my stay everywhere in HK.

We had a deluxe view room which was great value for money. It was clean and stylish. The road the hotel is on is near to the station but definitely in one of the more busy parts - pulling luggage through crowds is not my favourite pastime. On the downside for the room, internet was slow on my wife's phone and didn't connect at any point on mine which was a shame. If we return to Hong Kong in the future we would definitely consider staying at Butterfly again.

Booked this place on Hotels.com based on largely positive TripAdvisor reviews. We arrived here and were greeted by less than enthusiastic staff who were hesitant to even help take our luggage to the room. The atmosphere was non-existent and far from welcoming. We felt like the staff all had a chip on their shoulder and rather than being welcomed as guests, we were clearly only seen as an inconvenience. We arrived in HK and went straight to the hotel. Check in was fairly quick. When we got to our room, it kinda smelled damp. The bed was not long enough for me (I'm over 6 ft tall). I love that I was given the option to check-in earlier given that I arrived earlier than the standard check-in time - i had only wanted to deposit my luggage and head out for breakfast before check-in time, but the guest service officer Tony very kindly informed me that my room was ready and I could check-in earlier. That made my day. My room was spacious and clean, and location of the hotel was centralised. Staff were friendly, and requests were seen too quickly, appreciate Tony's and Christoph... Read more

Excellent stay, wish staff was more knowledgeable about directions to tourist areas. They said we could get a bus going to ocean park on the causeway bay station which was not the case, we spent several minutes finding our way. Otherwise, great service!

I have written a review about this hotel. I stayed here in March. There is a problem with the plumbing in the building. Also the showers flood out to the rooms - its a basic design problem. There are signs in the showers instructing you to close the doors and turn on the air conditioner before the taking a shower. I think the showers have flooded the carpets on several occasions. The first room I was taken to stank of mould. I refused that room and was taken to a second room which had the sam... Read more

My boyfriend and I were crazy tired by the time we got to the hotel for check in. Much to our surprise, check-in only took around 5 minutes. It was the most seamless check-in in a hotel that Ive ever had. The staff were friendly and conversed well in English so communicating with them wasn't a problem. The room was spacious and clean. I am very picky when it comes to bathrooms and Butterfly did not disappoint. The location was especially great. It was near the train station plus there were a lot... Read more

As regular visitors to Hong Kong, we have stayed in a number of hotels, and the Butterflies are faultless. This time there was a problem with our room - the air con I think, had leaked onto the carpet, causing a smell and a pretty wet carpet. Although it was late, we called down and the manager on duty (Timothy) was straight up to the room, checked it out and moved us up to a (much nicer) clean room. Great customer service, as always. We will be back.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. My room was small, my friend's room was even smaller. Not much room to move around, but functional. Room was relatively clean but not spotless. It needed some touch ups, on the walls, on some furniture etc. Friendly and helpfull staff. I stayed during a major trade show event, so price was high. But right after the show ended, price was less than 50% of what I paid. It is in a central location, and easy access to subway and buses.

Rooms are small but its in a great location. One of the best nights of sleep I had in Hong Kong. Right next to the Happy Valley Horse track, close to bus stops. Handy is cool, used it to call back to the US for FREE. We had bought SIM cards for our phones since it was so cheap to do.

Rooms were small but had a large and comfortable bed and adequate bathroom. I've stayed in their sister hotels on Wellington and Hollywood Roads and this hotel offers a consistent level of comfort at affordable prices - I've been to Hong Kong over 10 times and I think the Butterfly chain provides the best mid-range value for money in Hong Kong. This hotel is located near Causeway Bay MTR. Only stayed for a weekend and had pre-arranged plans elsewhere in the city so didn't explore much of the ... Read more

Good location, only issue when getting to the hotel via taxi no place to unload stuff front the taxi. Better to walk abt 1min to sharp street West to unload items from vehicle. Check out the bbq shop that opens after 9pm by the street where the 7-11 is located. Next to the market.

Whether you're here for a short business trip or a weekend getaway, Butterfly @ Morrison could be an ideal location if you want to be close to the Causeway Bay area, where the location is at the back of Time Square (8 minutes walk away), and the room is reasonably spacious for HK hotel in the business district. I personally enjoy walking around the hotel where there are some nice local restaurants around (there is a nice dim sum place call Dim Dim Sum about 50 meter away), and there is also a w... Read more

This hotel was brilliant! Clean rooms with top views (go for an upgraded room with city view! Great staff and couldn't be more helpful, room was spacious and modern. Only issue was on arrival when we were refused airport transfers to the hotel. Taxi was around HKD$400 so we chose to use the MTR to get back at the end of our trip. Fab hotel in great location would use again

It boils down to a perfectly good hotel like this, without a view of the harbor, or one that does have a harbor-view for about $100 US more per night. I was completely happy with this hotel. If I return I will seriously consider staying here again.

Whilst on a working trip, I was booked into the Butterfly on Morrison for a few days. The location is just perfect: 3 minutes walking from the never-sleeping Times Square. Lots of restaurants, shops, and pubs in the area. The closest tube I guess it's in Time Square and that allowed me to go around and wonder. Upon my arrival, I was also given a "handy phone": this is a mobile phone that you can use for the lenght of your journey and allows you to use the 3g without necessarily looking for a w... Read more

Had to spend a night here on a visa run and it was really nice. Very close to Causeway Bay Station and the shopping around that area. A little difficult to get to if you're coming from anywhere near Wanchai. I had a terrible time getting a taxi to take me here and trying to walk here, but going to Causeway Bay Station and then to the hotel is much easier. Once I made it to the hotel, I was very happy with the service.

Located in reasonable walking distance from the Causeway Bay MTR station, Butterfly on Morrison is a comfortable and nice hotel. I had a convenient and fashion-style room on the 20th floor with a wonderful view towards Victory Peak. The facilities and furniture in the room was practical, in good shape and clean. WiFi was available at a sufficient speed. They even offer a phone with free phone calls and internet access (of course with shopping ads). There is no breakfast facility in the hotel but... Read more

This is a good place if you want to stay near Happy Valley racecourse or in the Causeway Bay area - Times Square shopping is nearby and you can easily catch the tram to get elsewhere or wander the narrow streets. The room I had was quite small and would have been a squeeze with two people in it, but comfortable enough and the bathroom/shower were great and always appreciate having a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities. There was quite a bit of road noise as I was facing Morrison Hill Road.... Read more

There were plenty of local food around the area and 7-11 if you're looking to grab a meal, or a quick snack. For those who are looking for alternative fitness options near the hotel, a 5mins walk takes you to the Happy Valley race course, a beautiful option to the treadmill, as well as the Morrison Hill Swimming pool. I was not satisfied with the relation of price and performance. Bathroom: washbasin and showerhead munted in a height for dwarf size people. Washbasin unacceptably small and only with cold water. Aircon Control and lightswitches also mounted in knee height. The only good thing: the bed and the mattress have been very comfortable. But same like in the bathroom: no place, no bedside table to put anything. Over all: I have seen youth hostels with better 2 bedrooms. This hotel is not worth the p... Read more

We stayed here one night. With less than 24 hours in Hong Kong a good bed and a good location were priorities and on both these scores the Butterfly delivered. The hotel is easily accessible from the airport (approx 1 hour). On the way in we took the MTR and taxi from "Hong Kong" station and on return we did the whole trip by taxi. The taxi was marginally quicker and a few dollars cheaper. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helped print out boarding info. All in all a good, functional hot... Read more
