Hotel seems to be old, -AC was not working properly on 10th floor, left it on the whole day and it barely did the job during the night -The same thing applies for the rooms, the Pedregal Room was literally an oven, around 20 people in the event and the place was a heater. - Exchange rate is BAD , I was offered a 60 quetzals ride, or $10 dollar. Really?... The exchange rate is 7.25 and they wanted to charge me $10 quetzals per Dollar?...Wow!!! - some people at the dining room were nice and the... Read more

The Holiday inn was a great hotel that was close to everything. I will say this they are doing some remodeling to their swimming pool, so dont expect to go swimming. The rooms need remodeling, they are getting old and smelly, I think if they updated their rooms then this would change my rating to excellent. The beds were comfortable and clean as were the bathrooms. My A/C worked just fine no issues there. Customer service was good. I did like the fact the the hotel was close to everything,... Read more

The room was nice and modern and comfortable. i thought the breakfast (not included for us) was overpriced. The pool was being repaired while we were there, so that was not available...As is typical for Guatemala, there is no place to do your own laundry (thought there is laundry service with a fee per item) and we each had a week's worth of laundry. However about two blocks away was a dry cleaners (around the corner from the Panaderia San Martin) with a single washing machine and single dryer i... Read more

This hotel is in the "zona viva" district. You have plenty of restaurants, discotheques and bars. Hard Rock Cafe is in front of of this location. It has underground parking lot, so your vehicle is safe. Rooms are what you expect of a Holiday Inn, clean bathroom and clean sheets. Beds are comfortable and you have an excellent view of the city.

This hotel is centrally located and reasonably priced. However, no hotel I've ever stayed in has been more rude and illogical when it comes to visitors. No visitors are allowed in the rooms, even when accompanied by the hotel guest, without first registering at the front desk and paying an additional $100!!! This should be advertised up front so customers know what they're signing up for. Based on this policy and the way they treated friends of mine I would never stay here again.

This is one of those times when you pay for be near everything, although the place does not fit all your expectatives. Holiday Inn is the typical chained-brand hotel. A little bit expensive for its category, to say the truth. But it is placed in one of the best parts of Guatemala city, near a few malls, restaurants and night fun. The problem is that if you only want a nice, clean, quiet hotel, the other options are maybe more expensive. Try this one. You won't be dissapointed.

I had to spend the night there before leaving to the airport. I was shocked to say the least that they on y have shuttles to the airport until 10:30 /11:00 pm, only when available. Luckily the girl at the front desk was extremely helpful and arrange a shuttle for me and my coll ague. The lady at the bar is amazing, she is friendly and her drinks are really good. She was very accommodating and fun to talk to. We ordered an appetizer and it was DELICIOUS!!! it really was very very good.... The ho... Read more

The Holiday Inn is located in Zona 10, which is convenient for the business districts and the airport. You also aren??t far from the zoo, artists market and museums either. There are a number of bars and restaurants in the local area. There is a Hard Rock Café which is directly across the road. Some nights of the week (Saturday especially) this gets loud and if you have a room on the front you will get some noise from it. Rooms on the back of the hotel also may overlook the main road and w... Read more

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and really enjoyed this property. Room was clean and staff was very helpful. A bigger name brand hotel is across the street and double the cost which is really not needed at all. I would definitely return and stay at this hotel again on another visit to Guatemala City. Room service was fast and a simple menu but I was pleased.

They are redoing the bathrooms. Ours was lovely but the loud, constant pounding from 7:30 am - 7:30 pm daily, even on weekends, as they work on other bathrooms was hugely bothersome. The noise traveled even though they weren't working on our floor. When we checked in, the receptionist assured us that we would hear no noise because they weren't working on our floor. Wrong. This was an extremely unrestful stay. The rooms themselves are lovely but this is a high rise business and tour group h... Read more

My wife and I, as well as my in-laws, had various experiences that did not make any of us feel like we would want to return or even recommend this hotel to anyone. We stayed there 3 different times during our month in Guate and every time, there was a tall and slender young man who did not handle our situations well. On the first occasion, my in-laws requested (and were guaranteed) to be on the same floor with adjoining rooms with my wife and I. The night we flew in, we were unable to have those... Read more

We visited the Holiday Inn in Guatemala City on our way to Zacapa. I have travel extensively in Latin America for business and pleasure and rate this hotel one of the best I have stayed at. The construction mentioned in other reviews seems to be completed and the hotel looks modern and comfortable. We had a room on the 9th floor and found it extremely spacious and well appointed. The queen bed that my husband and I stayed in was very comfortable. The newly tiled shower and bathroom had stat... Read more

My family and I travel to Guatemala City and since we had stay before at the Holiday Inn we decided to do it again. This hotel is in the middle of great restaurants and many other hotels but I like this one because is clean all the personnel are friendly, professional and efficient and I like the service to the airport in their private shuttle! Definitely I will stay again in my next trip to Guatemala.

The prices is very good compared with the same hotels in the commercial Downtown Guatemala. Fifteen minutes from the airport and walking distance from many shopping malls, restaurants and bars, the location is very good. The rooms are clean, spacious, nothing fancy, enough to have a good stay. They also have free parking. And free Wi-Fi.

This hotel is centrally located. Great value. The rooms are cozy, some of the decor and carpet seems a bit outdated or worn out, it didn't match the feel of the impressive lobby. I was lucky to have a room with a nicer view. My room was spotless, which to me is the most important... it had two beds and all the amenities. I also loved the spacious balcony. I had great service at the front desk at check in/out and also getting me a copy of my passport page! thank you! Also from housekeeping (I ... Read more

The hotel is in a great location and far superior to US hotels from the chain, much like Raddison and other properties. That said I found the prices a bit high. Q150 for a lunch portion of chicken stew or Q75 for an omelet and fruit was a bit high for what you got. However, I find this is there case for many hotels in city centers like this and it's part of the game in exchange for the relatively safe and nice nature of the area. My biggest issue is the bed. It's very uncomfortable and left m... Read more

We stay here for vacations. Our rooms was old and needs some maintenance. A/C not working well also. Wifi was ok. Gym facilities are very nice also the pool. The best is the location, in the " zona viva" of Guatemala, lots of restaurants around , shops. Price was average. Personal at front desk can improve.

This is my 2nd time stay holiday inn Guatemala. I stayed this hotel 1st time Maybe 2015 in April and that time was not enjoyed my staying. But this time really I am enjoying my staying. But I think reservation stuff are little bit ruddy. Because this time I booked by phone and reservation stuff is not so professional or friendly. Room is e... Read more

A 1970's cell-block-type hotel ?? musty, smelly, tiny rooms. They did however, since it was already late upon arrive, take us around to check several other rooms and finally found one that was not so bad. Beware if you are doing business at this property. We were conducting interviews of several local people in the room, but had lots of problems with Guatemalan's being denied access to the property -- a bad situation made much worse by poor language skills at reception. In the end, we stayed tw... Read more

Just stayed here this week and must share what happened. The room was ok but there was only one TV station in English. CBS from Miami. Thats it so if you don't speak Spanish be prepared to learn on your down time. I ordered a stack sandwich in the restaurant and what I got was a piece of meat that I'm sure was one of those meats that are glued together from various parts of the cow. I know this to be true because my best friend is a butcher and showed me how they do it and what it looks like. Th... Read more

So I am currently staying for three nights. I read the review the food was horrible but I was exhausted and ordered a tuna sandwich for dinner, it was awful if you can´t get a tuna sandwich right something is wrong with the kitchen. The shower head does not work properly and when I got of the shower there was a huge pond of water , I guess it needs some caulking. Went to the restaurant area around 6:00 am no staff member seemed ready to serve nor help. There was one person still setting up the ... Read more
