The location is not bad, its only a 10 minute walk from the seaside and the city center. Also, on the way to the center you can choose to walk through the Ladiki quarter, offering nice restaurants and bars. However, the noise from the cars on the street was quite loud, so if sleep matters to you ask for a room facing the back street. (Though I am not sure if they have). The breakfast was good. For the price range they should offer much more. The staff was helpful, especially the guys at the park... Read more

I booked for 4 nights as I always make the assumption that you will receive roughly the same package across the globe..... This hotel is noisy, very noisy... The roadworks outside will be gone in 6 months but the "guests" that the hotel is forced to take will not! Every morning I was woken by loud music, shouting and slamming doors at 0500hrs I even had to leave the restaurant 1 night due to the chaos The manager was trying his best but next time I will stay somewhere that recognises business tr... Situated on a busy street in the center of Thessaloniki this is a typical city hotel. I found the hotel after a couple of attempts because it was hidden behind some construction work. Apparently that construction work has been going on for years. If you come by car I recommend to use the hotel garage accessible from the back of the hotel against a fee. As a member my check in was very smooth and fast. I was upgraded to a junior suite which meant that I had a seating area and a view to a buildin... Read more

Hotel is not very clean, cleaning ladies do not wear a hear net. What I realy disliked is there no balcony in the most of the rooms, no swimmingpool and the food is above average. Location is OK, but the constructions are all over the street. Not a 5* hotel for sure, more like 3* hotel.

Our experience at the Holiday Inn in Thessaloniki was nice overall. The staff is courteous and helpful, the breakfasts were fine- lots of fresh vegetables and great yogurt, and the location is about a 20 minute walk from the center of the city. Our room was on the quiet side of the hotel. The toiletries were excellent, especially the olive oil soaps. There was a strong hair dryer in the well-lit bathroom and a good magnifying mirror. There was a choice of soft or firm pillows. The bed, howev... Read more

This is a dingy place frequented by bus tourists - it's old, run down, stained carpets, and is not worth 80 euros per night, a complete and utter rip off. Not even a free bottle of water for that price. It's surrounded by fences protecting an archaeological site found when they were working on the metro so it's dirty outside and scary at night as it's all fenced off. The dig site will be there for years. The staff are nice and can not fault their service. If I had paid 40 euro per night I woul... Read more

Stayed here on business and the hotel was a good base in Thessaloniki. The reception, restaurant and bar areas were all lovely, with friendly, pleasant and helpful staff. The room was comfortable with good air conditioning and room facilities. However, there was nowhere to sit outside - no roof terrace or balcony, and no pool. If staying for leisure I would prefer a hotel with pool/ balcony/ terrace, however our stay was comfortable and service was very good.

This hotel is located on the North side of the city, so closer to the old town and harbour area than to university and White Tower area. Depending on where you need to be this can be a big 'plus'. The rooms are comfortable and clean, great care is taken to make you feel comfortable - fruit on the table! Although big groups tend to stay here, we did not experience any noise in the room. All TV channels you'd wish for are available. The breakfast is good, serving a wide variety of 'standard' and G... Read more

We spent two nights here whilst attending the G1 Greece Open taekwondo championships. After a taxi transfer from the airport costing about 25 Euro, we arrived at the hotel which has a lot of street roadworks going on around it, although we didn't experience any noise problems from this and our room was facing the main street. Checkin was efficient and helpful, although a smile might have been nice! :) And our room was ready early which is great. The room was a good size, good clean bathroom ... Read more

Disappointed, location great as this is close to the main bus station and a couple of shopping malls. But I was disappointed as the carpets are too dirty to ignore. There was also a bad smell. Not the standard I expected for Holiday Inn. If you can ignore cleanliness you will be okay, but I struggled.

The reason we chose this hotel is the name Holiday inn. But at the end we were a little disappointed. The hotel rooms are not in great condition also doesn't smell so good. We had some problems but the hotel management was kind enough to give us discount on our parking. It has a very small gym which is practically a room. And I'm not sure I would like to stay there on my next visit to Thessaloniki.

We booked a standard room but because I am a member of the Intercontinental group we were upgraded to a fantastic suite. The hotel is in a convenient location (especially for local food due to its proximity to the "Ladadica area, and all the staff were very attentive and polite.

Hotel is located on Egnetia Street and offers short distance walk to good restaurants. The staff is very helpful and there is no problem with wi-fi, even the rooms. Just the carpets in the room may be cleaner. Breakfast is worth paying with rich variety.

Very bad location at a downgraded area in Thessaloniki. The hotel is downgraded too! Rooms with old look, practically no insulation from outside or in house noises. Depressing hotel, indifferent personnel, mediocre breakfast. With the same money you can stay at a real 4 star hotel anywhere in the city! Never here again!

I had to spend a night in Thessaloniki since I was there on a business trip. My stay did not worth what I was asked to pay, not at all. The room was ok, in terms of comfort and equipment but I could not sleep at all due to a noise coming from the electrical panel. The bathroom was dirty and there were hairs in the shower. I was quite disappointed. The only reason I give 3/5 is for the polite staff and the satisfactory breakfast.

stayed here last week on a business trip for a couple of nights. First of all the not so good- had been travelling all day to get here and unfortunately a small party of 6 were checking in just before us. There appeared to be only one person on reception duty so we were kept waiting for about 15 minutes before anyone even spoke to my colleague and I. Thereafter the check-in was fairly quick but it is frustrating when coming in to a new hotel that you are completely ignored for such a long time -... Read more

We stayed here for two nights and were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite. The room was a good size with plenty of space to relax - which was good as we had solid rain all the time. Wifi was excellent and there were plenty of plug points. It was nice to be able to relax in a bath too. Downsides - no tea or coffee making facilities in the room! That was a suprise. We just spent 4 days in Thessaloniki staying at this hotel. The hotel is located on one of the busiest streets of the city (Monastiriou Avenue, a part of Egnatia Avenue) which (i.e., for the last 5+ years) has been consumed by the upheaval brought on by the citywide constructions, digs and holes for the underground metro. For that problem, which makes access to the hotel and navigation of the surrounding streets harder, nothing can be done except patience. But the services of this property leave... Read more

In a nutshell, the hotel is below standard of what I've come to expect from a Holiday Inn. IHG have put a lot of effort (and marketing money) behind revitalizing the HI brand, certainly in the majority of places I've been lucky enough to visit before - but sadly those funds have obviously not reached Thessaloniki yet. To be fair, it would probably need quite a significant investment and I'm guessing with the continuing economic crisis in Greece - evident everywhere really - there probably isn'... Read more

I don't know if i'm snobbish, if i grew away from this type of hotels, but for sure staying at the Holiday Inn Thessaloniki was a bad experience. Room 213 is old, squeezed. I had to climb the a/c unit to get to bed, but worst of all it was dirty. The carpet was filthy. So were the curtains. In the mini bar, bottles were anchored in ice, and those that were loose, were swimming in 5 cm of water. Breakfast in bed came cold and coffee was undrinkable.
