This really is a good place to stay if you're not into party and high life. It is a good middle-class hotel with very friendly staff. The hotel is a three-star hotel if you visit their internet site but many travel companies have it down as a three-plus hotel. Problems that guests have described are mostly solved. You get toilet paper and the wi-fi is free of charge (but will only work well in parts of the hotel). We also booked transfer directly with the hotel and so had quicker and easier t... Read more

We stayed here 4 couples The hotel is quiet typical Greek style but adequate and clean. We all had sea views and balconies. lefty who runs the bar is really great and plays good music and the restaurant staff are lovely. The beach the sea and taverna are great. The whole island is fantastic and the water taxi to town is fun and the busses take you all around the southern part of the island The town is fantastic and it is a reasonable price to hop on a yacht to see other islands. A great t... Read more

This place was lovely and had quick easy access to the beach. I would request next time that we had a room in the front block, mainly to avoid the ground floor room we were originally given - this was a little damp, dark and opened up straight onto the side of the mountain! Luckily we were moved the next day to a 1st floor room in the same block which had more light, was warmer and a little more space looking out over the balcony. The front building would be flooded with sunlight which would ... Read more

This hotel has its pro‚??s and con‚??s. Luckily for the Kanapister Beach Hotel my Fianc√©e and I are beach people who like to eat out and so are not too fussy about the actual hotel, the location and the area in which it is situated is more important to us. This Hotel is typical of Greece, unless you plan on spending above average on accommodation, its tired and in need some TLC. There are two main buildings to this hotel, a front building (request your room is here) and a back building. Our (fi... Read more

After we Had unpacked we went to the bar to get drinks for the kids (age 3 and 1.5) and ourselves ,the bar man nicknamed lefty was tremendous, funny, great wit kids and a great knowledge of music.when lefty wasn't there Anna was,she was also friendly and good with our grandchildren. All the staff were the same and would always go that extra mile nothing was to much trouble, most evenings ... Read more

We have just returned from the Plaza with our two boys aged 8 and 9 , my husbands brother and his parents. The hotel is fairly basic (if you are looking for an all singing all dancing or a luxury hotel then this is not for you) but clean and the staff are very friendly. We received a warm welcome on arrival, the receptionist was helpful and informative and the porter took care of our bags. The room itself was clean but basic. We had a sea view which was lovely and we could hear the faint so... Read more

The place is nicely situated in the middle of the main south coast route between the most popular places, and thats probably its best feature! The place is extremely old and probably never maintenanced or renovated since built. The furniture and bathroom are best fit to an abandoned place rather than an active hotel. Curtains, bedding and towels were worn and of questionable cleanliness, with stains and spider webs all over the place. The sleeping quality was poor, with loud cleaning service out... Read more

We stayed here in June. The hotel is about a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport. If you are using a cab, make sure that you try to find someone to team up with as they tend to put two couples together in each cab and charge the going fare to each pair, rather than taking half from each! If you present as a foursome, you will pay less, should be about 10 euros per couple but they will try it on! Return transfer on the hotel's minibus cost 15 euros for the two of us. The hotel is in a secluded s... Read more

Kanapitsa area is beautiful, so was a great choice to stay at The Plaza hotel . 2 mins from the beach , although just a little too early in season for the water taxi to and from Skiathos Town.....An excellent way to commute otherwise. We were actually staying I. Town but decided to have couple of nights here . A great hotel , location . Special mention to the polite and very obliging reception staff ... Allocated us a fantastic sea view , high floor room! Breakfast is taken on third floor with ... Read more

Returned yesterday would definately recommend, lovely friendly family run hotel. Just a short walk to the beach, plenty of sunbeds or catch the water taxi into town. Buses about 15 minute walk to main road although we didn't catch one. People complain about breakfast although we found it fine, just sitting eating breakfast on the roof terrace was perfect. All the staff were great and couldn't do enough for you, great cocktails made by Leftie in the bar. No kettle in room or safe but air con f... Read more

On the positive side, the hotel is in a good location ‚?? a two minute walk to the beach, where the sun beds are 8 Euros per day for 2 beds and a sunshade, although try to get there before 10.20am when the water taxi arrives to deposit other sun-worshipers there. It‚??s a 10-15 minute walk to the main road and the bus stop. The water taxi from the beach takes you to Skiathos Town and runs roughly hourly. There is also a lovely walk if you turn right out of the hotel and you can walk for miles... Read more

We came to stay as our first holiday together as a couple. We were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the view was from our room. We had room 101 and if you get that room, take full advantage of the balcony. The first thing we did was go to the pool. A small fence stops small children from falling in, but other than that it's a very basic pool and gets the job done. We explored the area, and there's a supermarket where you can buy water nearby. The dinner in the restaurant by the pool is l... Read more

What a pleasant place to stay, great location, good food and friendly hard working staff, special thanks to Angela who did the breakfast run, lunch and evening meals and always had an inviting smile on her face, couldn't do enough for you. Our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels and toiletries. Only complaint we had was no kettle in the room but we took our own travel kettle after reading previous reviews. We sampled a couple of meals in the restaurant and were very impressed. One eve w... Read more

Booked our holiday with Thomas Cook but then found out that if you booked with TC then you were given rooms in the Annex building out the back which doesn't have a sea view. So we rang the hotel direct and spoke to Dimitra on reception and up-graded to a front sea-view room which cost 105 euro. I think TC should be more open about the views you get from your room. Our first contact (apart from our minibus transfer) was Irena on reception, very pleasant and friendly and helped us more than onc... Read more

We decided to return to Skiathos as we loved the island, and we looked to book a nearby hotel to the Plaza, but no we went back to the Plaza... Big mistake!! booked with Thomson and when we arrived was given a room at the back looking out on a tree!! went straight down to see if we could move.. no .. I don't need to say a lot as most things have been covered on other reviews. The building could do with a makeover but as I say you get what you pay for, if the building needs a couple of hundred thousand spending on it then the guests will obviously have to foot the bill. The Hotels big plus is it is only 100 Metres to the sea. They could do with some more Sunbeds as the Towel Barmy Army are always up early reserving them though its not as bad for that as some places I have been. The staff are ... Read more
