This hotel, for me, was ideal. As I went at the beginning of their season there was not too many people there. The room was basic but very clean - with clean towels and sheets every other day. The food was simple but there was choices and I found it all was very tasty. Was disappointed that the range of deserts was very basic and didnt change. The bar staff - at the pool bar and the lounge bar (Gabreill) were polite and helpful. All the staff were friendly and helpful. For me I went for a... Read more

I went to this hotel last August with my partner for 2 weeks. The hotel is just ok, you get what you paid for, basic but not as bad as the reviews seem. Our room was in front of a abandoned hotel, so the views weren't that nice. However the room were clean every day and towels change dayly. The shower was not hot, but well it was absolutely hot so you don't really want a hot shower. We did not care to buy the extra air con as we spent the minimum time in the room. Who goes on hols to spent the ... Read more

I stayed in the poolside apartments. The apartment was very large, lots of room & loads of facilities. The cleaner, Anita, was amazing. She worked very hard, kept the apartments spotless, always had a smile for her visitors & spoke excellent English. The women at reception were very helpful, the dining room & bar staff were very friendly. Food was good & varied. I would recommend this hotel to others. I have stayed here before & would definitely stay here again.

Not the best hotel in rhodes. So good in fact that Thomas Cook downgraded it. Basically they think its rubbish and so do we. Good points first: clean rooms and bathrooms. Comfy beds. Linen changed 6 times a week. Bad points: food on all inclusive terrible at best. Breakfast uninspiring and luke warm. Lunch was repetitive and boring and dinner well we only ate it twice and both times it was cold and tasteless. Hence we ate out most days. The website and pool bar both say snacks out of all inclu... Our visit to the solemar was pleasant enough, rooms were regularly cleaned and equipped with all our needs. There were plenty of sun beds around the pool at all times of the day with a decent sized clean pool. I feel the food was quite similar for lunch and dinner but tasted nice and was expected for a 3 star hotel. However I feel that the dessert area was very poor and limited and I was not impressed in the morning when I went to have fresh orange juice and was only served diluted juice. Drin... Read more

Have just returned from a 2 week all inclusive holiday at this hotel and enjoyed it. It was a typical 3 star hotel, the staff were very friendly, the rooms were spotlessly clean, the food was edible but could have done with more choice. I am a very picky eater but always found something to eat. The entertainment was really non existent, I thought the might have had a Greek night but not to be. There was only really one entertainment staff and she did her very best to make sure people enjoyed the... Read more

Reviews for hotel solemar were fairly promising before we went, a three star on the budget, it is worth noting however that Thomas Cook recently dropped it from 3/5 to 2/5, not great. First off the room, pretty spacious but the beds were like brick slabs, I struggled to sleep on them and only one pillow per person? The bathroom was very small and flooded after each shower. The shower head spewed water in all directions and fell off a few times and hit me on the head once. The balcony was also ve... Read more

Where to start? The apartment we had was basic, but clean, it was cleaned every day bar Sunday's by the maid. We went HB, The food in hotel was awful, we ate out every day except 2 days. We spoke to people who was AI, and they told us you could only get local beer, wine, spirits at the bar, and they had no mixers. Also the food available for AI was Pizza, Chips and ice cream, you had to pay for toasties and burgers and other foods. The satelitte TV Channels, only 2 in English, and both were News... Read more

Stayed there for a week AI .... the hotel was clean and tidy and the food was ok BUT the pool area was totally unsafe for both adults and children, there is uneven slabs , cracked slabs, loose and moving slabs and grass growing in between the slabs. The pool was not cleaned once throughout our stay and the depth once down the steps is 1 metre with a steep slopes straight to 3 metres. The pool area was a eye sore with broken parasols some with shades hanging off, ripped, or no parasol cover at al... Read more

Today we go home (29th June ) and we've never looked so forward before to going home! Thomas Cook- just days before we came out you downgraded this hotel from a 3* to a 2*plus...... no need to explain why!!! Considering the amount my husband and I spent to come here, I'm rather miffed that you have this establishment on your books! Firstly All Inclusive is not that.....be very careful because it ends (11pm)and then you have to pay for drinks and food (be careful at the poolside bar with the foo... Read more

We were a bit weary when we first saw the reviews but I have to say don't be put off by them as the hotel is no where near as bad as people make it out to be. The rooms are cleaned 6 days a week and the hotel in general is always very clean and tidy. It was excellent service, ... the vegetarian foods were excellent every night (Superb). The hotel receptionist Vaso and the hotel staff had been really good, kind, friendly and supportive. The girls (Chelly and Iia) were very entertainment and supportive with me as I am profoundly deaf, I had enjoyed every minute of the two weeks holiday. Everything was 5 stars .... The pool was lovely clean and very tidy (every morning). Well done everyone who works at Solemar Complex.

Right here, goes I'm going to give the upmost of a very factual review Firstly the reviews on here seem to all point to the hotel being a bad hotel. Overall I don't think this is really the case. The hotel is in a nice location and fairly near the beach also near a street of shops and bars, which is good. Unfortunately a lot of the rooms do face the mountain on one side which is the room we had so didn't have the best of views song would recommend getting no a sea view room. I would also say tha... The staff at this hotel were friendly and helpful. The lift did not operate on many occasions leaving guests trapped. The shower in the bathroom was too small and the floor uneven which resulted in flooding. The food was disgraceful and we had to eat out. The pool areas were dangerous and some guests were injured. The rating was exaggerated.

Ok we are currently going into our 2nd week here at the Solemar and will be honest about our 1st week!! Very pleasant place to stay. Solemar is a great option if you choose a mid-range hotel in Rhodes. It offers nice rooms, super friendly staff- at the reception, animators, bars and in the restaurant (speacial distinction to Dora). Me and my girlfriend spent a wonderful summer week and trully recommend this hotel. Localization is relatively good considering a close location of the bus stop, that goes directly to Rhodes old town and very close proximity to the beach.

Before you book you should know this hotel is being downgraded to 2* by Thomas Cook. I have left many reviews from holidays over the last 20 years and never left a bad one, but this time I feel I need to let you know that this hotel is tired and dirty.
