I went to Greece with one of my best friends. We stayed in a room on the fourth floor for 4 nights. It was great! Great service and great views. The breakfast was delicious and we had dinner there one night when we were too tired to venture out. It was yummy too. My only "complaint" is the wifi I was really slow but that was no big deal. Some on here have had concerns about the neighborhood. As two women traveling we never had a concern at anytime of day. What a great hotel!!

This hotel is lovely. The rooms are nicely decorated, the shower is huge and the breakfast buffet was very nice. The two best attributes, however, are the staff, which provide an unparalleled level of service, and the location, very near everything you want to see and do in Athens. Don't be put off by the slightly seedy look of the neighborhood in daytime. It comes to life in the evenings, with small streets lined with cafes, restaurants and bars. Ask to borrow one of their many travel book... Read more

We spent three nights in a standard room on the 1st floor. Our room was on the small side but very comfortable. There are robes, plush towels and great Greek toiletries. We had a mini bar and room safe as well as a chair and desk. The bathroom was very modern and the shower was the standout. Great shower heads and very clean. They could think about a redesign of the sink and storage for wash bags and makeup bags, there wasn't much space to put things. The food at this hotel is fantastic! The Gre... Read more

Very nice boutique hotel. Modern and updated. Perfect location, walk to all but not a busy street. Our room was large and very clean. Breakfast was also perfect. The service at O&B is the stand out! The front desk provided excellent restaurant choices avoiding typical tourist traps! Great info on walking to sites, arranged early am taxi service to airport and provided box breakfast on departure, very thoughtful. Would stay here again without hesitation.

This hotel was lovely, clean, quite cool, comfortable rooms and in a quiet backstreet. Staff were friendly and they bring you a glass of water on check in (why don't all hotels do this!), then delivered a little plate of appertivo to my room as a welcome. The only downside for me was that the hotel is in the area around the flea market. The streets were a bit dirty with lots of graffiti, closed up shops and homeless people. As a girl travelling by myself, I didn't feel entirely safe walking aro... Read more

This is a luxury boutique hotel in a gritty neighborhood, with a sex shop on the corner to mark your turn coming back from most of the city's attractions. It is not a dangerous neighborhood. Quite the opposite; it is an authentic residential neighborhood that you are lucky enough to enjoy for a few days. The Acropolis and Plaka are both easy walks. We also hit the nearby food markets on our way to the Archeological Museum, which is a bit of a walk but hardly a struggle. Best of all, you walk out... Read more

Arete and Pavlos went above and beyond during our stay at the hotel! I was distressed when my daughter's nebulizer broke at the beginning of our Greece vacation and she uses it daily for breathing treatments. Arete secured a rental nebulizer for us and even arranged for it to be delivered to the hotel for us! I was beyond grateful! Our hotel was in a very convenient location for sight seeing, comfortable rooms and I loved the breakfast in the mornings!

We stayed at O&B for five nights in April and were given a free upgrade to the Grand Acropolis suite - it was amazing! Lounge and balcony overlooking the Acropolis, comfy and quiet bedroom and really good air-conditioning. We loved spending time in the evening sitting on the balcony with a drink just taking in the view. The staff were very friendly and happy to help with a few questions we had and the food was also of a very high standard. Having read the reviews we were a bit worried about... Read more

I have to say, the other reviewers have it right. This is a great little hotel with great rooms, a great breakfast buffet and a great staff in a run down "looking" neighborhood. The hotel is very convenient to train stations and the pedestrian path around the back side of the acropolis. While the neighborhood looks sketchy, I never felt "unsafe". This is Athens and there are signs of blight and graffiti EVERYWHERE. The staff in my view make up for any shortcomings of the street. These are ... Read more

We had a great stay. Staff is great and the complimentary breakfast was yummy. Room are small but that is Europe. It had everything we needed. They are great about getting you taxis and giving you tips. If coming from the US they will have cell phone adaptors for you so no need to buy one. The neighborhood is exactly as other reviews have said-- graffiti everywhere which makes it look sketchy. We felt very safe and loved the working class feel of the neighborhood. O&B is in the Psiri area just off Ermou and about 15 minutes walk to Acropolis and a dozen other key destinations. Nice boutique hotel with good service - and breakfast is included! Highly recommended for travelers that want amenities without spending too much and like being in more of a neighborhood setting instead of the main tourist area.

Loved this boutique hotel in a great location in Athens. Great snacks on arrival. Very helpful staff. Room was lovely. But...while I like firm beds, these were so hard, the caused a bruise above my hip bones. Ask for extra pillows, you'll need them upon which to lie.

A terrific little hotel, a stone's throw from the Monistraki market and a comfortable walk from almost every place of tourist interest. Very tasteful and comfortable rooms, staff who are friendly helpful and go above and beyond the call of duty - one of them directed me to a heavy metal concert happening round the corner. We stayed 2 nights at the O and B in Athens at the end of a month long European vacation. The hotel is located right in the city, so the taxi ride in from the airport wasn't cheap, about 35 Euros. The staff were very welcoming as soon as we arrived, and although our rooms were not ready, they brought us cold water, which was very welcome as it was a very hot day, and stored our bags for us. We were then able to go for a walk, and get our bearings with the carefully marked map they gave us. At f... Read more

The breakfast buffet was very good with a large variety. The subway was just down the street and you could easily walk to Monistiraki Square. Room 20 has a great view of the Acropolis from the balcony. All in all it was a nice clean room, except for the damn door stop in the bathroom. It's right by the toilet and you either step on it or kick it. The other downside is that the room really never got cool, but Athens was having a heat wave. Staff was very attentive and even prepared a sack breakfast when we left early. The restaurant does have a good breakfast buffet. Taxi service can be arranged to take you to the port or airport. D... I honestly can't imagine having stayed in any other spot, we were less than a 10 minute walk to all the major sites and spots of interest. Hotel is clean, safe, well appointed, and the staff are very professional and knowledgeable. Rooms are tight as most European rooms are, but it's not small. The hidden gem of O&B? The restaurant. Our second stay here - this time for a friend's Ordination at the Anglican Church in Athens. Just wouldn't stay anywhere else - Psirri is funky and the buzz and restaurants are great. This place is minutes by foot to scores of outdoor cafes, the flea market, a pedestrian walkway to the Acropolis, the tourist haven of Plaka and anything else you could need. Yes, it could be a little off putting to some travelers with graffiti and a (discreet) sex shop on the corner, but Athens is covered in graffiti and I remember NY's Times Square in the old days, so this was tame. There are so many people walking around at all hours that I never felt unsafe. It really is a great location an... Read more

Beautiful rooms but air conditioning was being fixed that day so some of the time it was hot. Breakfast was unbelievably good. Was advised by staff to use the subway and I was robbed. Don't use Athens subways! Use cabs. The hotel is on a small street and about half the cabbies we used did not know where it was. It is right in the middle of the Athens flea market area, so some will love and some will not.

While the hotel staff were friendly and helpful, how this hotel got a rating of 4.75 out of 5 is a mystery to me. The beginning of our trip we stayed at the Electra Palace Hotel for two nights. The Electra Palace Hotel was head and shoulders above the O & B Hotel. The O & B Hotel is in a gritty neighborhood and it felt a little unsafe. Great location. It looks like a grubby neighborhood but if you walk a block or two you come upon blocks on blocks of great cafes and restaurants where you can hang out and watch the world go by.
