Our family of 4 with 2 young adult children stayed one night at New Hotel. It is a lovely, modern space with a great location just a couple of blocks from Syntagma Square. We had connecting rooms which were very well appointed and very comfortable. I arranged transportation to/from the hotel with the staff and it was punctual and reasonably priced. We were able to store our luggage until our departure which was very convenience and helpful. The breakfast buffet is very delicious and very varied-... Read more

Almost luxury standard and ideally suited for exploring the Athens city center. Highly attentive staff, always helpful, nice room, fast and easy WLAN, interesting bathroom. Downside: church with loud and fancy bells, if you are on one of the lower floors you participate in Athen's traffic - at least it sounds like ;) Excellent: the breakfast!

My wife and I spent four nights at this hotel. The service and location are excellent. Our room was small but very functional and very modern. The view of the Acropolis was very limited from our room and this would not be a selling point. I would give it a four star rating

One night at Athens with my husband. This boutique hotel is absolutely stunning with its tasteful decor at every corner. The corner suite we stayed at was beautiful with a sizable balcony. Everything was perfect with decent breakfast, most helpful staff, good wifi and situated at a convenient location that allowed us to come back and make stops whenever we needed to during the day time. Couldn't ask for more!

We recently stay at the New Hotel for a few days post-cruise. We arrived at the hotel at about 9:30 AM after our cruise expecting that we were only going to be able to store our luggage, but were pleasantly surprised that our room was ready and we were able to check in right away. The bed was very comfortable and everything in the room was clean. My one problem with the room was that the bathroom walls were made of frosted glass, so if one person needed to use the bathroom while the other was tr... Read more

I booked the suit and I thought it would be amazing like the pictures when I arrived I was shocked it looks like an old over used apartment. The hotel is very small and in my opinion does not deserve the 9.1 review it has some nice decoration with furniture but mostly in the lobby there is one elevator and that is bad if the hotel is fully booked.

I stayed here for two nights in May. The location is perfect for exploring Plaka and the sights. The area is buzzy with hundreds of restaurants, cafes and shops. Hotel reception provided a warm welcome and I was shown to my lovely room at the back of the hotel (nice and quiet considering the location of the hotel) which had a little lounge area and a really comfy bed. The rooms are decorated in a unique and interesting style. Definitely not your average hotel room. The rooftop bar and restau... Read more

We booked this when we saw on the SPG site it's part of the new Design Hotels group and was a very reasonable rate for our one night in Athens. We were not disappointed in the choice. From checking to check out we were impressed with the decor, the staff and the location. There were a few small things to note - but first the good. Stefania at reception was amazing and even gave us her personal email to get recommendations for our next stop, Paros, where she was born - we got some great ideas fr... Read more

We only stayed at this hotel two nights during our visit but it was a lovely experience. It includes breakfast each day which is the normal European breakfast of pastries, lunch meat and cheese. This was a wonderful place to stay--service was great, and the room was truly unique, with a personalized touch that featured installations from local artists, as well as a balcony and thoughtfully arranged furnishings. As its name suggests, the hotel has a new, modern vibe; my sister and brother-in-law stayed in the Grande Bretagne 5 minutes down the road, and the furnishings there felt kind of tired and stuffy compared to those at the New Hotel. Stayed in this modern contemporary hotel for 6 days. Rooms were comfortable and clean. They were turned down every evening , clean towels twice daily . Loved the toilet facility, by far the best in Greece. Staff were very friendly . Best location , steps away from Plaka, Monastiraki, Syntagma square and Ermou for shopping . We thought the brunch was over rated, very expensive ala carte menu .

The New Hotel is definitively trendy. As soon as you enter the lobby, the modern design (starting by the walls!) just punches you in the face. Usually, hotels who try to have a modern look just propose some IKEAish uninspired and boring style. Here, this is a total achievement: surprising, beautiful, tasteful, smart. The room are similingly definitively trendy and modern - a really nice experience, with top-quality furnitures. Complementary WiFi is all right, not extremely rapid but I never neve... Read more

I got the 30‚?¨ pass for all of the archeological sites nearby including the Parthenon (which was 20‚?¨ on its own) and could walk to all of them with good planning. New Hotel in Athens is a designer tricked up motel which should have 3 stars instead of being sold as a luxury design hotel with rooms at the same price as the city‚??s entry level rooms at the best hotels. Entry level rooms at the Athen‚??s best hotels are the same size as the largest rooms at New Hotel. The hotel is located on one of the busiest streets in Athens which, despite what is supposed to be triple glazed sound proof windows, does not offer an acceptable level of quiet. I ... Read more

We stayed here on both ends of our trip to the islands. We didn't spend much time at the hotel, but it was a nice place to stay in the middle of Athens. Not far from the parliament building, temple of Zeus or the Acropolis. The bed was one of the more comfortable on our trip. Breakfast is well done: great buffet but also some a la carte options to supplement. The rooftop restaurant has very nice views and good food. All in all, not a bad hotel, very attractive decor in the lobby and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the maid staff did an outstanding job! We were on the sixth floor and the balcony was great; however, the road can get a little noisy and the church bells are quite loud when they go off. I found the room furnishings/decor to be about average, but certainly less than 5 Stars. I found the Intercontinental and King George to be superior.
