The first day I arrived at the hotel and I went in my room (single, quiet room) there was an extra bed which disappeared the next day. The food at the hotel was ok but also too expensive for no wasn't something special! I though that those prices was unreasonable. The staff was ok. The view of my room was awful! The airconition made too much noise. The room wasn't worth the price. I think this hotel is too expensive for no reason! i would definitely do not recommend this hotel!! Waste o... Read more

It states that the hotel overlooks the Acropolis, however, there is nothing like this. When we asked for a room overlooking the Acropolis, the receptionist said the hotel is just for sleeping, nothing else. The area is nothing special, not really close to sight seeings as I read reviews etc. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. I would not give 4 stars to this hotel by any means! For those stars expected class, and it was equivalent to 2 stars in reality.

If you want something right in the middle of the Plaka this hotel is not for you. However, if you prefer a quieter location, with stores and restaurants frequented by locals, you will like the Ilissos. It's a 10 minute walk to metro, tram, and bus, a 20 minute walk to the Plaka, and a 5 minute walk to an amazing bakery (ask the staff!). The staff was friendly and attentive, especially Natascha. We found it quiet even though several school groups were staying there. The rooms are adequately s... Read more

I loved this hotel! The rooms were huge with plenty of space for the luggage and other belongings. The cleaning staff did their job very well. No comments on cleaning at all. The breakfast was good with a plenty to choose from. The staff were very nice, kind and helpful. They helped us with everything we needed and were even proactive. The location was good 10 minutes walk from the metro station and 2 minutes from the busstop. The area was calm and peaceful. Free wifi!

Great customer service, clean rooms, was a little noisy with a school group visiting at the same time. Fantastic views of the Acropolis from the rooftop garden. Not close to the Plaka area, but a quieter area of town, more of a business area. Probably a quarter mile walk to the nearest metro which will get to to the Plaka or to Syntagma Square very easily. I would definitely stay here again.

We were in Athens for night on our way to the islands. Ilissos Hotel was a great spot for our night. It was very close walking distance to the Acropolis (20 min). The room was extremely spacious but nothing flashy. The rooftop views are incredible, make sure to pop up there at sunset.

This is a very clean hotel within 15min walk from the Acropolis. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us all the information that we needed. The breakfast buffet was very nice and the bedrooms were large clean and modern with very nice showers.

We really enjoyed this hotel. The price was right and it's pretty close to the Acropolis. We got lucky with rental car parking and found a spot right in front of the hotel. The neighborhood seemed nice enough, but it's probably not a good idea to walk around alone after dark. Well worth the price.

The hotel is quite old but very clean, the staff was very polite especially Natasha. The breakfast service is really nice and honest with very fresh ingridients and nicw coffe. The best thing is that is very close to the center but also very quiet.

Big room, big screen tv. Excellent WIFI signal input even in rooms, Staff speak English and willing to help, Breakfast varied and satisfying. No parking space during the day (it's athens) you can park Anywhere you like then just bring the car afternoon to the front of the Hotel. Far from the city center (8 minutes walk + 2 Metros)

Had a comfortable 2-days stay at the Ilissos hotel. The room was cosy and very clean. The only eyesore being the carpet, which is very old and spotted, but clean nevertheless. The lady at the reception is very helpful and suggested a great food hub in a lane right behind the hotel, where the food was cheap and far better-tasting than the overrated eateries elsewhere in the city. They even arranged for breakfast bags for us on checkout, since we had an early departure for Santorini that day. All... Read more

We only stayed one night at this hotel. It's 15 mins walk from metro station. If you take a taxi from Syntagma square, it's about 5-6 Euros. Hotel room was spacious and clean. We checkin quite late but the staff was polite and nice. Very helpful with our luggage too.

The hotel is right on the border on one of the major street of Athens, and one could think that it is noisy. But this venue is quite surprising. The room was very nice, of decent size and clean, and apart from the noisy (teenagers) neighbors I could not hear a noise from the road. It is almost ideally located (10' walk from the Acropolis and plaka). Not too expensive, thus perfect for a couple of night for either sightseeing in Athens or work purposes There is wifi, but at least in my room the... Read more

This hotel is roughly 30 minute taxi ride from Athens airport, however I believe the closest metro station (about 10 minute walk from hotel on major road) goes right to the airport. I was thrown off a bit by the location of the hotel and surroundings, but after exploring the area it was not as bad as it looks.. The hotel itself was incredibly clean and good service from front desk to restaurant/bar... Breakfast was good with a great variety of options... Room service was quick even at the end o... Read more

Stayed here July 8th 2016 in room 210. We arrived late , around midnight , after getting off a late flight from Crete . Check in went smoothly. Upon entering the room though we saw stains on the carpet and a hair in the shower head. In most situations we would complain but this was a cheap room , it was already midnight , and we figured we'd just tough it out. Showerhead placement is also strange here - it's in the middle of the bathtub not at the end , which gives you very little space to move ... Read more

After a month of travel across Europe, we came to Athens for one night before leaving on a cruise from the Athens port. We figured a decent, low price hotel for one night would be just fine. The reviews on this place were surprisingly good (for the price) and a "4 star" hotel. Unfortunately everything about this hotel is less than acceptable if you're wanting a simple night of good sleep and a clean place to take a shower. We got in around midnight and wanted to get a good night rest to recove... Read more

Not very expensive, but still quite good. The staff was friendly and the location is nice. Room could have be more clean but it wasn't a problem for me. Everything worked. The roof terrace has some nice view! There was no street noise, but the sound insulation between rooms could have been better.

Overall a pleasant experience. The staff was great. Most important: We lost a cellphone in the taxi going to the airport. the front desk located the taxi. It was turned around and returned the phone at the airport, all in time for check-in. We are very grateful for the assistance.

We stayed here twice, at the beginning and end of our two week trip to Greece. The hotel is clean and rooms are good size. We had a very nice breakfast, including eggs, cereal, fruit and vegetables, breads selection, etc. Perhaps the best part of the hotel is the location - its convenient to the spots to see in Athens - just a short taxi ride to the Plaka. I was 7 months pregnant during our trip and it was extremely hot, or else we probably would have made the walk. Perhaps only about 10 blocks ... Read more

This is decent place to stay in downtown Athens. Good rooms and relatively inexpensive. The included breakfast is good, but avoid the 16 Euro buffet dinner. It's pretty dreadful. Don't rely on Wifi unless you stay up really late, when there are few other users.

Hotel is about 800m from the nearest metro station, so it can be quite a walk, especially as I visited during summer. Room is rather conducive, and provided the basic amenities required. Did not try the breakfast in hotel but there are some restaurants and eateries around that serve pretty good food. Ideal for those looking to stay near central, yet want to avoid the crowd.

The staff was very kind and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Ours had a nice balcony. Breakfast was a little pricey at 9 euros for the quality offered. The position and view is not exactly charming, but the Acropolis is just a short walk away. Overall a good option for Athens.

The vicinity is in a very remote area - very far away from everything. The rooms need many upgrades - they stink of cigarette smoke. The staff is not very friendly especially when it came to printing our boarding passes - did not happen. I would just not stay here again and not recommend it to anyone.

We stayed here for two nights; first night in Greece and two weeks later on our last night. As many other reviewers have commented it's a little run down. We can't comment on the breakfast as we preferred to head into town or around the corner to a cafe. The water in the shower kept going scolding hot every 15 or so seconds, it didn't last long but it sure did give you a fright! For me, and compared to 4 star hotels in other countries, this is not a 4 star hotel. However, all the staff is attentive and friendly. The breakfast is diverse, with local and fresh products. It is relatively close to Athens city center and Acropole which allows you to go on foot. Some rooms have view to acropole and in the last floor there are a bar with a view to Athens and acropole.

This hotel is good in cleanliness, friendly staff, and breakfast buffet. The location is very good because it is close to most historical landmarks; it is also close to Plaka District. The inside of the hotel is below good. It's very outdated with dirty carpet. The only big downside of this is the wifi connection - HORRIBLE! I would have to wait until 11:30PM to actually have decent connection.

The staff is friendly. The room is okay but the floor is a little bit dirty, they should do something about that in room 107. They made a lunchbox because I needed to go to the airport at 4am. The breakfast is good, but their coffee sucks big time ( i am coffee addicted) please use the right Douwe Egberts machine for the best quality coffee. Their rooftop view is very nice.

The hotel was fine. The staff is friendly, the wifi is not good, and one of our rooms which was advertised as non-smoking obviously had recently had a smoker staying in there who lit up frequently. The Ilissos is more of a motel than a hotel, an inexpensive place that serves as a pitstop if you're planning to stay in Athens for just a day or two. My friend and I used this hotel as an overnight stop after visiting the Greek islands. List of why I'd never rate this place well: - The WIFI is terrible, often not even being able to load for minutes at a time. - The water in the shower oscillates between normal and scorching hot. - There was an ironing board. It was dirty, so I could only use a small portion of it. - There was no iron to accompany the ironing board. I asked for one, and luckily I tested it directly on the ironing board, where rust fell out of the iron and would have ruined my clothes. - One of the two ... Read more
