You enter the lobby through what seems to be an alley, but is really just a side street. And it is in a really convenient location in the city. Lots of buses nearby, and a train at Victoria Square a few minutes walk away. Get an all day pass for about $5 (coins only at Victoria Pass, notes accepted at other bigger stations), it will be very useful. And lots of cafes nearby as well, with almost everyone speaking English and very friendly to tourists. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and w... Read more

I had stayed at this hotel on a previous occasion and I was very satisfied with my stay then. My most recent stay was even better as I had a quiet double room at the back of the hotel- with a large double bed, plenty of space for luggage and storage, a mini bar, a flat TV and a great big bathroom with a shower. The breakfast was a buffet breakfast served at the Cafe of the hotel on the ground floor with both hot and cold items. There was only filter coffee available at the buffet; another type o... Even though this hotel was further away from the main attractions than we had expected, it turned out to be great! The hotel was only a 3-5 euro taxi to the Acropolis area. Frank in reception gave very helpful tips and suggestions for restaurants and was really welcoming. The hotel was clean, included breakfast, and the wifi connected in our room. Overall good hotel!

We just stayed for one night. Great room and clean bathroom. Breakfast with good selections. Staff very helpful. I had trouble with my laptop and printer and the night porter helped out absolutely brilliantly. The little café at the corner served the best Greek salad. All in all very good experience.

This hotel is well located close to everything. We can find all the necessary store around as Supermarket, bar, restaurant and tube station. Our room was clean and spacious. We have a fridge where we could put our drink. Unfortunately, the breakfast was basic and not too tasty. The receptionist were nice and helpful and gave us nice tips. This hotel is over price for what they are offering.

I happened to stay in Areos for a couple of days during mid May... Based on the reviews in Tripadvisor, I decided to choose this place for the second leg of my journey in Athens. We had stayed in Centrotel for a couple of days earlier. Unfortunately because of my early flight, I had requested an early check in at 10:00 am. But even without a second thought, my request was turned down. This was a bit of a put off. Once we checked into our room at about 3:00 pm, we were disappointed to see the siz... Read more

Attractive rooms - mine was the cheapest single, but it was still pretty and reasonably sized with a balcony - and a generally good feel. The staff are very pleasant. Delightful breakfast, marred only by being snapped at that it started at 7:00 (it was 6:56). But maybe it was an off day for her...

This is a good value hotel but in an off putting location. Fortunately, the metro is a 5 minute walk and brings you to the centre in two stops. The staff were nice, the rooms were spacious and clean and the breakfast was plentiful. I'd stay here again based on the price we paid and the metro being close!

The staff were great, and the lobby, bar were uber cool. And the bathroom was amazing. I loved the Terrace/balcony. And then there was this kitchenette that was great, if still stuck in the 70s. It made it fun. The rooms could use more light...hard for old eyes to read in a poorly lit room...but I loved the place.

After a 11 night cruise, we planned our last day in Athens. Having poured through the hotels available, I chose Areos based on the positive TripAdvisor reviews. We arrived at approximately 9:30 am and the front desk clerk was very helpful with directions to the Acropolis (via metro) and storing our baggage until we could check in. The street it's located on seems a bit sketchy and I wouldn't likely venture out alone after dark, but there's a lot of those streets in Athens tbh however the burned... Read more

We stayed at this hotel in late June, it was less than half the price of hotels in Plaka despite being an easy five Euro taxi ride from that part of town. Good Internet, good air-conditioning, good breakfast and very clean rooms and bathrooms. There is an excellent family run Greek restaurant nearby called Atithos - ideal for lunch or dinner if you've just got to the hotel from the airport and don't want to head into town straight away. Also, strongly recommend the Thea Terrace in Plaka for su... Read more

The hotel was lovely with large, modern and clean rooms. We had a very large balcony on the top floor. Reception staff were amazing giving us advise and assisting wherever possible. The umbrella and sunloungers on our balcony were torn and old, certainly in need of replacement. The hotel is not in a very nice area. Overall would stay here again.

The hotel is clean and very comfortable. The staff was helpful and kind. The breakfasts were great, and the bar/restaurant staff was kind and professional. While it's very close to the Victoria metro stop, the neighborhood is not great. I wouldn't feel comfortable walking around by myself, and certainly not after dark.

Well first off, the main draw I had to this hotel was its excellent staff. Seriously, lovely people, and the cafe housed some of the finest examples of a human being I've ever met. The baristas took me into their arms when I was a poor tourist, frightened of the raging Athens nightlife, and taught me not to let the fear inside me. They made an excellent cup of coffee, and then taught me to speak the Greek language. The hotel room itself was okay, and gave an excellent view of a back alley. The b... Read more

Would happily recommend but take more info on location like a map!

My friends and I recently stayed two nights at Rooms Areos (the Monicker on the building). It wasn't what I expected but it was okay for the money. Small elevator (2 people with luggage only), small rooms, times with showers didn't have a fully closing shower door, and some rooms didn't have a shower at all and only had tubs. The rooms don't have irons (for safety reasons). The complimentary breakfast was ok and appreciated. However the staff were great. Friendly, quick, knowledgeable, and acc... Read more

We stayed at this hotel for one night pre-cruise. For $60/night, you can't beat it. One thing I particularly liked is their bathroom. Unlike a lot of European hotels with a bathtub and a half-glass door, the shower is huge with a full glass door. There are not a lot of restaurants close by but it is only one block from the National Archaeological Museum. The Acropolis is a â?¬6 taxi ride. The free breakfast is also nice

Our taxi driver informed us en route to this Hotel that it wasn't in a great area, and having been there I have to agree with them. It was slightly shady at night and there were only a couple of decent restaurants within reasonable walking distance. Having said that the rooms were really good for the price and the staff were exceptionally helpful. We only stayed one night prior to departing for the islands and for that purpose it was excellent.

This is a well maintained hotel with average rooms. It's very close to the National Archaeological Museum but otherwise somewhat distant to the main tourist area. However it's easy to get to the main tourist area by Metro, and taxis are also quite affordable. Another more upscale hotel (a radisson) is around the corner on the same block - you won't be the only tourists in the neighborhood.
