We had a really great time. Our first all inclusive holiday and we couldn't believe what good value it was. The room was spotless and kept beautifully clean by the staff. There were four pools. We spent most of the time at the kids pool which was just as lovely for adults. Three different bars. The choice of drinks was fine for us. The food was plentiful and tasty. The staff were really friendly and great with our son. We read lots of reviews before going and glad we weren't put off by the negat... Read more

Positives first. The staff are great and very cheerful and the service they give is good. Our room was ok (no94) and well away from the main hotel. Cleaned daily with fresh linen every other day Breakfast is ok but very repetitious. Now the negatives. The hotel itself is very tired considering it was the beginning of the season. Both pools area's are ok but again in very poor repair with mosaic tiles missing and just looking very dated. The food (apart from breakfast) is very poor. We were on ha... Read more

We are currently staying at sissi bay hotel and Spa and it is very very basic. The rooms are okay very simple although if you want air-conditioning you have to pay 55 euro for the week. The rest of the hotel isn't very clean at all. You never see any cleaners around the hotel unless they are doing the rooms. The only reason this has got 2 stars from me is because of the food; the food is lovely (when you can have it ) this is meant to be an all inclusive hotel. Well I can tell you it is not. You... Well to start off we arrived early hours of Friday morning the man at reception was welcoming and showed us to our room,The rooms are basic and are clean with fresh bedding each day (except sundays) but DON'T HAVE AIR CON AS STANDARD you will have to pay for each day in total we stayed for a week and had to pay ?55 Whitch is a rip off in an all inclusive hotel,as for the staff only a small minority are very nice and friendly others never have a smile on the face and are either chatting to the ... Just returned from a weeks stay at Sissi Bay. We don't normally stay at seaside resorts, but booked this hotel through British Airways and was more than pleasantly surprised. We had a lovely quiet garden room (101), which we considered changing for a seaside view, but after being shown an alternative, we decided to stay put and were very glad we did. Room was sunfilled from sunrise to sunset, extreamly large and although fairly basic, kept very clean, by a lovely, friendly member of staff. Our... Read more

I had been to the South of France at the end of August for my main holiday but I wanted to get away for my 50th Birthday in September. I was on a budget but i didn't want to go to a rough place. Sometimes you gamble but this paid off, we were only in Sissi for 5 nights but it felt like a lot longer and we did not want to leave. The hotel was clean with nice views and this was the first time our children were in a separate room. I was concerned at first but as the staff were so accommodating and ... Read more

A lovely hotel in a perfect location! We had a room with a terrace and garden view and although the room was basic it had everything we needed and was nice and quiet. I had a massage in the spa which I highly recommend, it was very relaxing! The staff were great all around the hotel and we loved the Cretan evening as we had lovely food with great entertainment! It was not far at all to walk into the village and there was transport available to visit other places. If you are looking for a cheap, ... Read more

We contacted the hotel prior to arriving to request ground floor room. We were a party of 7 with 3 rooms. I was so delighted with the rooms we were given as all three rooms were in a row and no steps ! It made our stay so much easier and was lovely all being next door to each other. We loved the view of the sunset at the paradise bar and enjoyed loads of cocktails (not free). We enjoyed the short walk to the harbour and had couple of meals down there. ..beautiful views and so peaceful . The e... Read more

Our 2nd visit to Sissi Bay Hotel. We booked direct and had a room with balcony right on the seafront. We went B&B and this was a great base for north and east Crete. Room had a nice bath and shower, fridge and excellent air conditioning, which we certainly needed as it was scorching. Reception Staff were lovely and the barman, in the lower bar next to the sea was really helpful. He was a mine of information. He told us how long it would take to get to the south coast and recommended plenty of... Read more

I stayed here with my mother, we arrived on a late flight and where given a cold plate, we were half board. The hotel charges for aircon- this made me query if it was a four star, when told the charge i thought it was a joke, i spoke to a lady on a cruise staying at another hotel and she said its something they do in Greece. We started our stay in room 63? and moved to 203, 203 was very cool a nice room, 63 i really didnt like it was loud, and hot, the hotel was oversubscribed we where told ... Read more

If your looking for a relaxing holiday this is certainly a hotel and location to consider. The grounds of the hotel are fairly large, and with 4 pool areas you can always find a sun bed, or quiet spot. The room we stayed in was fairly large, and clean, although lacking in drawer space for clothes. The one big down side was that we had to pay extra for air conditioning, which in a 4 star hotel, in this climate, should certainly be a standard feature. We were on an all inclusive package, and fr... Read more

First of all, if it were possible I'd rate 3,5stars! Even though we didn't go AI, the food is a big part of any hotel. Thats the only thing where the stars did go. The food was not very good. Don't get me wrong, they offer a big variety but i feel like the quality of the ingredients is very very low. Many things are fatty, meat in general was not tasty at all, it felt like a lack of spices/salt in general. The deserts were very good though, but cake for dinner is not everyones deal and not the ... Read more

To start, the hotel and staff are amazing and the location is beautiful! We arrived at around 1am having travelled from England with 11 family members (including my 1 year old daughter) and first impressions were good. We dragged our luggage to the reception desk, along with 2 wheelchairs and a pushchair and proceeded to check in. We were informed, much to our dismay, that despite having booked the holiday 6 months in advance, and that there were 12 of us in the party, including a baby, they did... Read more

We spent a relaxing week at this lovely hotel in June. Great value and we upgraded to a beautiful set of rooms with private pool at little extra cost. Food was good and varied in the restaurant with a beautiful setting overlooking the sea. We were well looked after by Demetrius. Favourite place was Tropical Bar with Nikki an expert in cocktails and cappuccinos. It is the staff that make this hotel so good.

We have just had a wonderful 10 days at the Sissi Bay. The hotel does offer value for money but I do believe that air conditioning really should be included and factored into the pricing and when reading the previous reviews it appears that others agree, even though it is clear from the outset that this is a chargeable extra. We were upgraded, which we did pay for because the first room allocated to us was not very nice, it was directly underneath the reception area and so was very noisy with th... Read more

Just got back from a lovely week at this hotel and would thoroughly recommend it! As two couples, we had booked two double rooms but when we arrived we were offered to change to a family room so we would be close together and were shown round. We decided to take the family room with air-con included and we were very happy with the room. The rooms were fairly basic but that was all we needed on the holiday. My only criticism with the hotel would be the lack of bins in the rooms as the only bin wa... Read more

I have written this review to be more of a helpful fact sheet? We arrived at 2.30 a.m. no food was available but we could buy drinks. The room was very hot with no air con remote in the room, this was because it is payable at a cost of ?8 per day. For some guests it's included but depends on your tour operator / deal. We also paid to hire beach towels ?7 per week + deposit of ?5 you can get new ones every 3 days. The safety deposit box is charged at ?6 per day. The A I programme does no... Read more

Good elderly hotel. Food was good and everyday something different to choose from. We where 3 couples and I had to pay ?40.00 for the AC Unit where as the other two couples got it free since it was running all the time. First five days the room was cleaned good but then there must have been a change in the cleaning lady since it was not that great afterwards.

Not quite sure where to start. On the whole the hotel is clean our room was the sea view we'd asked for and was cleaned on a regular basis. We were half board and as soon as the waiter realised this he treated us like second class citizens. Making sure we paid for our drinks and making us feel very uncomfortable. This could have been avoided had we been given some information at check in explaining their system . As a consequence we spent very little time in the hotel apart from meals. The food ... Read more

Firstly, I read numerous reports on this page about the Sissi Bay Hotel before travelling and was extremely concerned about what to expect, however I find that this hotel is very good, with outstanding features, however, there are areas for improvement. Stayed here in June for a short holiday with a couple of friends. The location is superb, on the seafront, near the beach and also just a few minutes walk into the little town. We arrived at 4am and was greeted by an exceptional night porter ... Read more

This is not a luxury level hotel, but in spite of this I gave the maximum rating, because this hotel has all you could expect from a holiday in Greece: a romantic place, a beautiful view directly on the bay, no confusion, beautiful nature. My room was recently renovated, everything was comfortable and clean. One big plus is the staff: always kind, smiling, ready to help you. In 5-10 minutes walk you can reach beautiful and not crowded beaches. Behind the hotel you find shops and rent car/bike. H... Read more
