The Althoff is a very high quality hotel. Everything is top quality and they have services to assist you in everything, naturally at a cost. It is near shopping, the train station is across the street, plenty of dining options and it's a quick drive to the Porsche and Mercedes museums. It is really a great location and property, hands down. Why didn't I rate it as excellent? - the room was a bit small, but for more ‚?¨ that is easily fixed with a small suite or other class. Super convenient to trains, shopping boulevard, main tourist office, parks, theatre (all within 1 minute). We took a bicycle rental from the station and rode through parks and streets and went exploring with ease. Rooms very comfortable and large enough; breakfast is pleasing (if a little too popular:) Best of all is the friendly and helpful front desk and lobby staff. Can't fault this hotel.

This very central Hotel, overlooking the park and Opera House, is to be highly recommended. We stayed on the 9th floor in a mini suite, with the view overlooking the park and Opera House. The room was clean and had the expected accessories fora comfortable stay. Hotel Reception was prompt, attentive and very polite. The bar had live piano music during the evening after we saw the Ballet. On the Sunday we went to an Opera at mid-day. We had afternoon tea and drinks in the hotel cafe adjoining th... Read more

Right next to/above the train station (and even better, you can't hear the trains), this hotel's location is so useful for anyone who needs to be in central Stuttgart. It was extremely easy to get to direct on a train from the airport. You can also easily walk along the main high street to get to the shops and restaurants etc. The rooms are fairly small but very clean and high quality. There was good wifi throughout. The breakfast was excellent. One night we stopped in the piano bar and had a dr... Read more

In front of the main train station and also easy to reach by car. Perfect location in the city center and also you can go for a walk or jogging in the park. You can only park your car in the hotel garage. It cost ‚?¨19,- per night. Very friendly and helpful staff. Bed and pillows are comfortable. The Rooms have a good temperature. Bathroom is good and proper not so big. Could be better. There is no possibility to make your own thee or coffee. I will go back there.

The hotel is contemporary and well maintained. The location on a park is a short walk to great downtown museums, opera house and shopping. The auto museums are a short drive. We also had a great meal in the restaurant.

Stayed at the Schlossgarten for 3 nights at their Park Suite with 2 extra beds for my kids. Room smelled of smoke but got used to it after a while and furnishings were a bit dated but overall very clean. Had 5-course dinner at their Zirbelstube restaurant and indeed it was very good! Location of the hotel is superb as it's at the beginning of the shopping street. Few metres from the main train station and a few steps away from the S/U trains. Execllent for traveling to nearby excursions. T... Read more

Pros: -proximity to the train station -free wifi Cons: - this would have been a great hotel...... in the 70s. Everything is outdated. Everything. - the housekeeping staff does not speak German or English. I speak English fluently and my traveling companion speaks German fluently. We tried a simple sentence in both German and she just gawked at us like we had 3 heads. - front desk staff. Unless you talk to the right person, you don't get the correct answer. Is situated just off one of main shopping streets and opposite main train station (Hauptbahnhof). Easy to get to from airport (Flughafen) using S-Bahn S2 or S3, journey time 30 mins and costs 4 Euros. Despite central location rooms are very quiet, air conditioned and spacious (and very reasonably priced for such a quality hotel). There is a large park bordering one side of hotel, offering pleasant walks. Tourist Information is just round the corner. Hotel staff could not have been more helpful, ... Read more

Overall great hotel! The room I had was modern with fast wifi and very quiet considering you are central to everything. Now the best part. All the staff, from the bellman to the reception and the restaurant(both breakfast and dinner) are EXCELLENT. No request was too small and allowing me to speak my terrible German and English was very helpful. Would stay again!

This is 5 star hotel, very close to Stuttgart central station, probably less than 1 minute walk! There are many restaurants and shopping malls in the adjacent road in front of the station. As for the hotel, the reception area looks very nice, the bar is stylish with a grand piano and a selection of dishes for satisfying your late night hunger. The staff are very polite and helpful. Getting to Stuttgart is really easy. The railway station at the airport can be accessed from the terminal building and the train journey is only 25 minutes. Stuttgart Central Station is across the road from the hotel. Although located by a busy main road, the rooms are quiet. Very high standards of maintenance and cleanliness, as you'd expect from a hotel of this rating, but the prices are not astronomical. I advise to go there if you want to have a milkshake in the afternoon with a nice view on the garden. Moreover the prices are really good.

We stayed here two nights and couldn't have asked for more from the staff. We stayed here at the end of December 2015 while visiting a relative in Stuttgart. The hotel's location in Stuttgart is excellent. You can just hop off the train and walk directly to the hotel. Very much appreciated after a long international journey. It's also right in the middle of town, and is surrounded by lots of shops and restaurants. This hotel is at such a good location in Stuttgart - very easy for subway and train travel but that is not why I love it. There is shopping right around the corner as well as museums and a great central square to relax and sit in a cafe. The staff here is so helpful and attentive. The rooms are large and comfortable. This hotel is easy to find and close to everything in downtown Stuttgart. The Hop On - Hop Off bus stop is just across the street, and the main train station is also very close. We didn't try the hotel restaurant and didn't pay the additional cost for breakfast, so cannot comment on the food service. However, the hotel desk staff were very kind and helpful.
