We spent 5 nights here as part of a longer European holiday. The accommodation itself was average but the staff here are wonderful and so helpful. Their input definitely made our stay here much more fulfilled. The location is very handy to the Munich Rail Station, easy walking distance to the Marienplatz and numerous other attractions. The breakfast bar is also a highlight of the hotel. It offers a great selection of food types which should satisfy most tastes.

Barely a two minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof (main railway station), the Mercure is a super city centre hotel. The bedrooms are extremely well furnished, appointed and comfortable. Breakfast offers an excellent selection of traditional German fare with other popular choices to suit international travellers. Just a 5-10 walk takes you the Marienplatz, the Ratskeller and the big churches of Munich. Our first visit to Munich and this hotel was the perfect choice, thoroughly recommend it !!

This is a four star hotel which unfortunately is not in the best neighbourhood (that being the worst part of Hauptbahnhof or Main train station). I arrived on a Sunday evening and there were a lot of drunk and shouting people around the station and that made me pretty uncomfortable. The hotel itself is quite luxurious and lives up to its 4 stars - the staff were always very friendly and welcoming, my room was very spacious, well decorated and also very clean (there are also renovated rooms). ... An ideal hotel for our few days touring Munich on our way home from Austria. Check in was an excellent start to the stay. The room was spacious for our needs and the breakfast very good. Just a short stroll from the main rail station and not too far from the City Centre sights.

We had two rooms since this was a last minute addition on our trip. Driving was a little tight with a bigger vehicle and parking in garage a bit tough in the parking garage. The hotel is nice and very comfortable outside area wasn't the best. Probably wouldn't stay here again if by myself. Staff was friendly. The hotel is only a couple of minutes away from the main station, which is handy but also unfortunate because the area is rough. We arrived around 9.30pm at night and felt quite unsafe walking to the hotel with our children. There were a lot of people, many homeless, drinking outside the station. The staff were very helpful, and all spoke English well. We booked the triple room (queen bed and a pull out sofa). The room was quite big and well appointed. Location wise it is close to the Munich Central Station. I stayed on the second floor and if you are like me who doesn't smoke and have low tolerance of smoke smell, try to avoid staying on this floor because the main door is usually open and people just smoke outside, causing the lobby area to be filled with smoke. This is a nice hotel located very close to the central station (under 5 minutes away). We chose a Superior Room as it was only slightly more money than a Standard Room, and we were pleasantly surprised with both the size of the room and the amenities. In fact, for the price, it is probably the largest hotel room I have stayed in. On arrival, we were welcomed by the reception staff who are very friendly, and were advised that our room had a free minibar. The minibar only contained a few drinks (i... Read more

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The room was spacious and comfortable. We appreciated that the minibar was included. Breakfast was delicious and included many different options. The location was very convenient - just across the street from the train station and only a short walk to Marrienplatz. We rented a car and made use of the parking garage next door. We would definitely return!

We stayed 2 days in this hotel for a weekend. It is very close to Haubtbahnhof which is the main train station where you can directly go to the airport. You can use metro for city center or regional trains for outside of Munich, even you can use international trains from haubtbahnhof. The hotel is just 5 min walking distance to Karlplatz where the old city starts. We stayed at the top floor (5th) in a standard room. It was big enough, clean and comfortable with sofa. The minibar is free for the ... Read more

The main areas of this hotel are quite nice and newer, rooms are a little tired, could use an upgrade. Service is good. Breakfast is great! Location is great for trains in and out of the city. It's a bit of a walk to the major tourist areas of the city and at night the neighborhood feels a little off... Overall good value.

The staff is exceedingly friendly. I had a privilege room which was a bit larger and came with breakfast and free minibar. The garage is large with easy access. The hotel is near the train station and the central city. Breakfast was superb considering this is not a large hotel. I highly recommend for anyone staying in Munich.

A very good service, personnel very well trained and wulling to help you on whatevwr you need. Very well located near the Central Station and the Stachus. Only weak point was the mattress which was too soft and they havent been able to change it.
