I have made many trips to the Hilton in Mainz on the river. I cannot say enough about this hotel. The staff, the rooms, the location are all excellent. I am here on business but would highly recommend the location for vacation. Mainz is a wonderful town and you are near buses and the train station so you can easily explore the surrounding areas. Also you can take a boat ride along the river and see the beautiful vinyards, castles and little towns along the river.

I arrived late at night to this Hilton and was greeted by a trainee who at least 15 minutes to check me in as she didn't seem to know how the check-in system worked. She insisted I take a room in the dome wing which is across a bridge, badly signposted, along several empty corridors and above a casino. I didn't feel safe doing it but another surly receptionist refused to listen to my protests. The room was spotlessly clean but the bed was not comfortable. I couldn't wait to leave in the morning ... This is a very good Hilton with an excellent location; modern, good parking and good facilities. My major quibble would be that it is split with a bridge across a road and our room was literally about 600m walk from reception by the time we got there. With bags it was tiring!! Breakfast was excellent

The Hilton Mainz is a typical Hilton hotel. Good service, nicely appointed rooms. The hotel is conveniently situated next to the Rheingoldhalle conference center. From the outside, the hotel building is not particularly pretty looking. However, good breakfast, free wifi (when booked online), and a good location next to the Rhein. Bring your running shoes!

I stayed here for one night. Car park is convenient if not a little expensive (?22). Check in was very quick and efficient, I'm not sure if my Honors membership was recognised but I was given a very nice room over looking the river. The corridor carpet was unlike any Hilton I've encountered before! The room itself was modern and spotless. The city centre is just a 10 min walk away. Hilton Mainz has been one of my "home away from home" hotels for decades. The hotel has managed to modernize and change with the times and has always without fail, been consistent. Very amicable and accommodating staff, spotlessly clean, and very comfy. Riverview Rooms always a big plus - can just watch the steady flow of traffic on the Rhine River on a rainy day. As pointed out by others, all of the buffet offerings - breakfast, lunch or dinner never disappoint. The hotel appears to have n... Read more

A lovely hotel with wonderful rooms and comfortable beds. The staff are all very pleasant and fluent in English. The hotel is right beside the river where the river cruise ships dock. It is an easy walk into the old part of town. There is good shopping in the area, and several historic buildings include a massive church that was bombed in WW2. Several WW2 historical sites. Many great restaurants.

A classical Hilton, fairly freshly renovated with nice large rooms and a great buffet breakfast. But its key feature is actually its location and the hotel positioning right on the river. You can go stroll or jogg directly from the hotel on the river banks, or enjoy a beer at the hotel outdoor seating and watch the river traffic.

The front desk staff was very friendly and accomodating. We were given a WiFi code free to use. The room was spacious, the bathroom size is ok. We had a king room with river view. It is absolutely worth choosing the river view. The bed was very comfortable and there is enough empty space in the minibar to put your own drinks in. Breakfast has a wide variety of choices and is very good. Overall it's a very good but rather expensive hotel. However, you do get value for money. I recommend it!

Hotel is on two sides of the main street connected by a covered foot bridge. Excellent spread for Breakfast though a tad pricey if you do not book in ad... Read more

I had one night in here and found it to be over priced for what it is. It's an old 60's building that's tired and gloomy. This isn't a problem when the price is right, but when it's the same as the Hyatt down the road and they are worlds apart then it's opportunism. Reminded me of the Hilton in Milton Keynes, another one of their ageing stock that you are pleased to leave. The staff here are fine of course, it's just the setting of the place being old and in need of refreshment, including the ro... Read more

Of the two Hiltons in Mainz, this one is located along the river and only a short and easy walk to the Dom. It is also next to an upscale shopping plaza that was apparently built to cater to the well-paid city workers who occupy the City Hall across the way. There is easily-accessed underground parking on-site and several restaurants in the hotel. They are very expensive, though. As to the rooms, they are large and well-equipped and you can choose river or Dom views. Lastly, it is easy to get... Read more

It really seems that this hotel is frozen in the past.. The WiFi connection is very slow and they ask you to wait or go to the lobby. I had the room service and both times the food was horrible and very expensive.. For example the soup was terrible, bad taste and presentation. Not to mention that the rooms are always very cool to the point you have to go immediately to bed. I don't recommend this hotel for the price charged..

This comment relates to the meeting facilities of the Hilton hotel. We had an excellent meeting room (Rhein 5) with river view, very light, high ceiling, good seating, good projection. The food and coffee was good, too. I would be very happy to come back for meetings.

Near the Rhine river, this is a very good hotel and lot of potencial. The service is good and nice. The breakfast is very good, in quality and option offer. The common spaces are pleasant. My room was very small and I paid the same as my colleagues with bigger and better located rooms.

Very pleasant stay in a well located hotel on the river, good breakfast, nice rooms and friendly service.Well used by airline crews and business people, so can be very busy at 8.00 checkout. Very easy walk across the road to the gorgeous old city of Mainz with many shops, restaurants and old buildings

I originally selected this Hilton based on its proximity to Frankfurt airport, however I quickly learned that it has a whole lot more to offer. The location is superb. Its right on the water (Rhein) and the views are amazing. The Rhein is busy with boat traffic and the opposite bank affords lovely views of this part of the city. The hotel has excellent facilities visa vie gym, restaurant, bar and proximity to walking and running paths that stretch for kilometres. Great Hilton property, I will st... Read more

The Hilton is really two hotels divided by a major street. I had the misfortune of being across the street, which meant poor signage and a long walk to my room through their conference event center (lots of fun when crowded with an event - I'm sure the paying organization loved people lugging luggage and regular foot traffic through the narrow networking hall during their event as well) then over a sky bridge to a set of elevators. Their underground parking doesn't have an elevator on the 2nd ... Read more

There are some good things about this hotel: Its location and the buffet for dinner, for example. Those good things are more than outweighed, however, by the bad things: The hotel never could get the temperature in my room correct. After three different trips to the front desk across three different days to tell them that no matter how I set the heating, it is too hot in the room, and after bringing in a portable fan, it was finally time to go home. Three days without a resolution is two an... Read more

Room was nice but service very poor. Not to be recommended. First the room price went up upon arrival, then room service forgot to close the door and I found it open when came back from a meeting, then they tried to charge me for two breakfasts when I only spent one night there and was alone. Moreover, my e-mail with complaints was ignored. For a Hilton - rather poor. I'd try some place else next time.

I wrote this while in the hotel. Once again I am fighting the woeful internet coverage. For a hotel used regularly for business it really is appalling. You can choose to pay for an upgrade but reasonable internet is now provided by most hotels without gouging their customers. The service is ok. Regularly have room service with items missing e.g. no cutlery etc. The room service choice is a little thin. I am currently staying here every week and it isn't a great experience

Hilton should model all of their properties after this hotel! The cleanest most professional hotel I have had the privilege to experience. The staff accommodating at all times. Dining in a beautiful setting with attentive staff. Well done!

It took us a while to find our room in this huge hotel. Signage was poor and there seem to be few staff. Room was fine though, has everything you are likely to need and are quite large. We ate in the hotel restaurant as weather was atrocious that night. Nice view of the river. Decent choice and well cooked - just had the fancy overpriced burger. Serving staff very pleasant. Breakfast very good with plenty of choice and all freshly prepared - nothing looked like it had sat and congealed like in s... Read more

After a string of non-Hilton hotel stays during a European business trip, this property was a most welcomed treat! With a beautiful view of the Rhine and tasty treats in my room it was good be back 'home' with Hilton. The staff was so helpful in providing directions to local attractions and restaurant suggestions. The breakfast was AMAZING. As for the room it was large, well appointed, modern, and comfy. An A+ stay!

This particular Hilton in Mainz Germany is quite nice and the staff is great on all levels. From check in to check out and all of the other departments in between. The rooms are extremely comfortable and up dated in their decor. It's within walking distance to the city center and it's on the Rhine River.

We have stayed at the HIlton Mainz a few times and are heading back there shortly. The staff are always accommodating and the hotel is clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for wandering into the main square filled with shopping and wonderful restaurants. The rooms are clean, quiet and spacious with good amenities and comfortable beds. They have competitive rates that include a fantastic breakfast buffet. If you request a river view you can watch the river traffic and see the river boa... Read more
