There is nothing really wrong with this hotel but I didn't think the room met the expectations of a Hilton Hotel. The room was small and the beds were hard and if you get a queen room it will be two doubles pushed together. But everything was clean and the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The location lets you forgive the room. It is a quick and pleasant walk to the old town. It is also very easy to get to the train station.

Hotel is in the center of city. Mainz is a nice city and I enjoy every trip to that town. Many beautiful buildings, old town, many nice restaurants and many places to drink very good German beers. Almost all people speaks English and I feel nice every time I visit Mainz.

Location was very good, close to the central train station and in the old city area. Room was average. a bit tired and had a minor bathroom cleaning issue, yet nothing which should stop you from an overnight/short stay, assuming you could get a reasonable price. Would recommend for a short overnight stay. Stayed during May 2016 for business.

The location is very good. Room service and cleaning is very good. The front desk service is average....for me, it was poor. There are a lot of resturants, bars, shopping, etc. in the area.....this is the biggest plus for going to this hotel.

I like almost everything. Plus i was with my puppy and everybody was patient and kind ))) The location is good, park, shops, cafes are very closed. In spite of all these places close to hotel, there wasn't any noise. Thanks to the whole team of this hotel.

I spent a week in this hotel. The location is convenient to resturants, shopping, and the train station. This would be the prime reason to stay at this hotel. The people at the front desk, resurant, and support staff was very helpful. This is an older hotel, which is now going through some updates. Quirky is the best way to describe the room. Furnishings were dated but clean. Room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Like many European hotels the room A/C is not turned on. For most of my stay ... Read more

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the main train station and the Altstadt because the purpose of our visit was to sightsee and take a day cruise. We were able to walk to the hotel with our luggage in about 10 minutes. From there it was only about another 10 minutes walk in the opposite direction to the Marktplatz where the cathedral, Guttenberg museum, and lots of dining opportunities are located. From there it is a couple blocks to the Rhine and the boat docks. That part of th... Read more

We had a nice stay here, rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The A/C in the rooms did not work very well though, did not cool the rooms very cold. We had warm and humid weather while we were here.

The Hilton Mainz City is located in the center of the city but you can't hear any noise from the outside. You can easily get to all sights. The food is good too. I have been there for dinner several times. The staff is friendly.

A definite selling point of the hotel is the location; it is right in the centre of Mainz, which is a nice medium-sized city by the Rhein River. Facilities at the hotel are good, and staff is very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet has a reasonable choice as well. Rooms are reasonably sized with a seating area and a working desk. Beds are also comfortable. It is a good hotel for business or tourism.

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times while on business in Germany. Very nice and clean. Only 10 minute walk to train station and within walking distance of many good restaurants and historical sites.

Overall a great hotel, location close to city center, one of the friendliest staff I've experienced, clean rooms, GREAT breakfast buffet! Within walking distance of the train station so day trips are easy.

The hotel is very well placed 5 minutes from the main station and centrally in town. The Rhine is a 10 minute walk away. Staff at reception and in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. The rooms as such are typical for a business hotel though appeared a bit worn. The "gym" is a small room with three machines, but Hilton have realised the problem and have guest access for a Fitness First nearby (though check the opening times). Breakfast was good with a decent choice of foods on offer an... Read more

Outstanding hotel. Excellent bar , restaurant. Front very polite and concierge service. The hotel is in a great location in the summer and walking distance for all the restaurants in the city. In December you have the xmas market . You can walk along the Rhine for many Kilometers.

I strongly recommend this hotel for its quiet setting and convenient walking distance to the downtown restaurant and shopping area of Mainz. The hotel staff are friendly and are all fluent in English (for monolinguists). My one suggestion is that you eat dinner in the city rather than at the hotel.

The hotel is located near the Mainz inner city which is convinient for evening dinners. Also the breakfast choice was above standard with pancakes, mushrooms, etc. etc. The staff was helful and frinedly , as usual in Hilton hotels. It is also not too far from the main railstation, which makes it convinient for travelling.

The hotel is obviously a bit dated. Still, it was clean as well as comfortable. The staff was helpful and professional. The onsite restaurant staff was superb (Rowina was most helpful) and the food excellent. However, prices, especially for breakfast, are excessive. There are a number of excellent cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance (two to five blocks). The central train depot is relatively close, about .9 miles.

The hotel is a bit old yet it is located in the city center, close to many amenities such as shops and restaurants. The area is very quite. I loved the breakfast choice and the entire dining area is just fantastic. We had a room on the first floor and internet was fast (Wi-Fi). The room was clean and we had an expresso machine as well. We love Mainz and this hotel is our destination every time we visit the city. I recommend this hotel for all who is after tranquility and love walking a short dis... Read more

Hotel is perfectly located for those that want to walk around Mainz. Parking is located at the hotel and if you ask they will give you a season ticket so you can enter leave and only pay for the day. The hotel is a bit dated and in need a refurbishment but still comfortable and quite. Staff are very friendly and able to help with recomendations

We stayed at the Hilton Mainz City for 1 night and it was a good stay. The service was great, the WiFi connection was great and we had a very comfortable room. As noted by other reviewers it is getting a bit dated but that didn't prevent it from being pleasant. Overall it was very good, especially for the price.

This is a 5 minute walk from the main train station in Mainz, making it easy access to Frankfurt Airport, and Mainz is a beautiful little town with more character than Frankfurt. The hotel staff is great and speak perfect English. The lobby bar is spacious and central to the hotel. Great breakfast buffet. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious.

We were two families of four that booked four rooms at this hotel for a three night stay. We arrived by train, and the hotel was within walking distance. At first glance, it appeared a bit worn down, but inside was quite lovely. This is an older style hotel, with a lot of wood and chrome, and it was impeccably clean. Our rooms were lovely, with very comfortable beds and linens. One room had trouble with the air conditioning, but they did not ask for assistance, so that really cannot be coun... Read more

This is a beautiful hotel with a nice open air courtyard for meals. The location is wonderful within 5 minute walk to town square restaurants and shops. But they were having trouble with their automatic room door lock system. The key cards didn't work and multiple guests including myself had to go back down to the front desk for help. they only scheduled one person at the front desk that morning. The poor girl was going crazy. Another problem was my room had an analog thermostat. Just c... Read more

Stayed at the HMC in September during Automechanika week. Got to the hotel early evening following an afternoon at the trade fair but unfortunately on arriving the rooms were not ready. However the reception staff made sure we had some drinks at the bar while we waited. The hotel is well situated near to restaurants and bars and has an underground car park (chargeable) The rooms are good with all of the usual comforts and facilities, but need updating. The minibar was well stocked. Wifi is only ... Read more

This location is within a few minutes walk of the old town city center. It is also right along the river walk. The room was very nice and with the Hilton honors card you received free wifi in your room. If you did not have the card you could still get free wifi in the lobby. We needed a new light bulb in one of the lamps and within a few minutes a repair man was up to fix it. So I would highly recommend this hotel.
