This hotel almost got 5 stars on trip adviser- given the wonderful soft bed, beautiful and quiet rooms, fantastic shower, lovely cocktails, delicious burgers, good breakfast and exceptional staff. The only two issues were: 1. the gym is useless as it only really has a handful of cardio machines and no weights or mats or non-cardio workout (there is one non-cardio machine but it's actually not very good). 2. Our late night room service arrived an hour after we ordered it and after about 4 ... Read more

Better than expected. The hotel has the perfect friendly staff. Accommodating from the valet guys who were just lovely. The rooms are spacious. The bathrooms floor heating, the view from the rooms lovely. Special mention to Kathrin at reception who was courteous and a genuinely nice person, the perfect lady for hospitality. We have visited this hotel 3 times after our stay just for a drink at the bar and so far no issues. Keep it up. I have to say I'm a regular traveller world wide and in cannes... Read more

Every fine detail of hospitality and professionalism was maintained at this truly <> hotel! Its location is conveniently central in this great city. We will never stay anywhere else when we make our yearly visit to Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig.

The hotel is great, has a great bar, top rooms, etc. Really a good choice. The only thing I didn't like was the slow and inconvenient W-Lan. If you want to have an acceptable W-Lan you need to pay something, wich is just absurd looking at the room rates.

We enjoyed our stay at the Steigenberger Leipzig enormously. Everything about the experience was excellent. The location could not be better. The hotel itself is elegant and of the highest quality. The staff was helpful and professional. We would be happy and eager to return.

Excellent hotel - clean, efficient, friendly staff, lovely facilities, convenient location. The rooms was comfortable and well appointed. The bar in the centre was a great place to sit and socialise. We would recommend this hotel to our friends and colleagues.

Wonderful stay, great location, super friendly staff, no issues when requesting odd things (my case I requested a personal wake up, as I only got 90 Minute rest and was worried that I would not hear the wake up call) - worked - Thank You

The location is excellent, it is right in the middle of the town square and very easy to get to the station. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and speak very good English. We had a very spacious room with a lovely bathroom. We will definitely go back.

My partner and I stayed here for a romantic weekend away, and it's a lovely hotel. A classic building with modern interior and very nice rooms. The location can't be beat. The rooms are quite nice, with big TVs, good furniture and heavenly bedding. I was disappointed by the beds though. When I book a double room I'd like one bed, not two singles pushed together. And if you're going to push the singles together there should be a way to connect them, but that was broken in our room. The bathroo... Read more

A very pretty hotel with architectural merit as are many Steigenburger's but it's just too pompous for its own good. Trying to be world class but looses the friendliness that sets top hotels apart. Reasonable gym and public spaces but prices for drinks and in the restaurant are high. Plenty of choice nearby in the city centre though. Breakfast is good with a buffet that won't leave you hungry.

Steigenberger Grandhotel Leipzig is expensive but, as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for". Location is superb. My room was very large and very comfortable with an excellent bathroom. Cleanliness and maintenance of the building are exceptional. There was no outside noise. There are a lot of very friendly staff to help you. Allow yourself time to enjoy the excellent breakfasts. This hotel concentrates on simply getting things right.

One of the best hotel chains and my favourite in Germany. this particular hotel is perfectly located off the main road and by what looked like the old town hall that is now a museum. Close proximity to a nice alley that is full of cafes, pubs and restaurants.

First off, we rolled into town covered in leather and skulls and patches for a horror punk show at Conne Island, so when we were greeted outside by a man in a tail coat and silk top hat, we realized that we were really not amongst our people. The gloved limo driver who brought us in from the airport should have clued us in. We scored the room for like 150$ and it was the second cheapest place in town on Halloween, so we were not expecting anything like what it was. A bellhop brought the luggag... Read more

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. Luxury hotel which was quite affordable when booked well in advance. The staff and service was impeccable. Our room was gorgeous with every appointment. Water, Coffee, WI-FI, qtips, robes, slippers, umbrella - we were in need of nothing.- It really was the equivalent to any 5* hotel I've stayed at before. Great position, market station 2 minutes away which was great for business trip. Room clean, loved dressing room. Problem with electricity was worrying on last morning as safe lost power. But this was sorted out by front desk chap at 5 in morning - straight away! What was disappointing was being over charged by check out. The female assistant was so slow and reluctant to resolve I left before it was corrected as had train to catch.disappointing as paid for 6 nights in good room, well over £thou... Read more

We stayed here for just 1 night. The hotel is beautiful and the room was large, modern, and quiet. The bathroom has a large bathtub and a separate walk-in shower. We used the valet parking, and the service was very good. The reception center was very helpful with directions. You can walk to all the major sights in Leipzig from the hotel. (It is a few blocks to the Bach Museum, St. Thomas Church, and the Stasi Museum.) There are many places to eat in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. (... Read more

Magnificent hotel with very professional staff, smiling and ready to serve. After a long stay of nine days in 2016, I appreciated the total absence of 'elevator' music or painful jazz music in the hotel bar and dining room. The choice of music is compatible with the city's wealth in terms of culture. Breakfast buffet is very generous in terms of quality and choice. Strongly recommended.

Excellent concierge service and reception. This team should be a example for the Hotel Steigenberger in Dresden, where the team was not good. Excellent localization. The turism seto rvice in the city was very good. We were 3 days in Leipzing, but better to planning 5 days to visit this fantastic city. The germans proved once more they efficiency in the reconstruction of the city.

What brought me and my wife to Leipzig, a city of trade fairs and festivals, was the annual Bach music festival. Planning far ahead is essential when visiting the city during this festival. After much research, we decided on staying at the Steigenberger. It turned out to be an extremely wise choice. Steigenberger is a strange hotel brand; it does not deliver a uniform level of excellence or comfort since some of its properties are 3 star, some 4 star and some better than that. The best hotel during our three week vacation across Europe. Attention to details on all levels. We got an upgrade from Jr suite to a regular suite, top notch. The hotel staff is very service minded. The valet parking as it should be, you know that your car will be looked after. If staying in Leipzig, this is your place.

The Handelshof is on paper probably the best hotel in Leipzig, the reality meets the expectation. The location is perfect, close enough from the main station to walk but also in the center of town, everything is close or easily reachable. It's not the cool area of town, more the shopping touristy one, but luxury hotels rarely are in the center of "Cool". It is a 5* L, no doubt, we splurged on a luxury room, room is spacious, large windows overseeing the Neumarkt, gorgeous view, large bathroom, s... Read more

This was our first trip to Leipzig , after finding the hotel on the net. The staff is one of the best we've encountered in our many travels. The room we had was very comfortable. It has all the extra's you may expect from a Steigenberger Hotel. The hotel has valet parking at EUR 25 per day. Personnel at the reception was very friendly and helpful.

Good hotel in the center of Leipzig. Excellent rooms, furniture, beds, bathroom. Valet parking also very good. The brasserie was closed for "summer holidays" what sounds a bit bizarre for a 1st class hotel. Avoid the bar, it is overpriced and with limited choice of drinks, there are plenty of better ones just outside the hotel. Good breakfast but also a bit expensive.
