We stayed at the St. Annen hotel in October 2015. Great location, friendly staff, good bkfast. Small well appointed rooms, fair trade amenities. Overall a very nice stay in a beautiful city. we walked everywhere.

This is a lovely little place with great service and good rooms. And the location is ideal: A 15 minutes walk to the "Landungsbr├╝cken" or 20 minutes to the city center. The room itself was very quiet and clean.

I stayed for only two nights, but enjoyed this little hotel. The room was fairly small, at least by US standards (I've noticed that European hotel rooms seem to be a little smaller than is standard in the US, and this wasn't anything out of the ordinary from what I've experienced), but was properly sized for my needs and was very nice. The room was clean, well lit, and nicely decorated. The shower was a little on the small size, as was the rest of the bathroom (I didn't have quite enough space t... Read more

Stopped here as we were visiting to see the Manic Street Preachers at the Grosse Freiheit 36 music venue. It was ideally situated and no more than a 10 minute walk. Also very close by was St Pauli football stadium. City centre was also within walking distance. The hotel was spotless, with excellent, friendly service on Reception including a couple of free drinks. Breakfast was delicious. On departing reception booked us a taxi back to the airport which arrived within a matter of a few minute... Read more

Everything is positive about staying at the Hotel St Annen, from the friendly staff, cozy bar and comfortable room to the guest parking and great breakfast. It is so close to most attractions, especially the Elbe and the Reeperbahn. We didn't need to use the bus or train as everything was walkable. There are also great places to eat, like Alles Elbe in the next street, Hein-Hoyer Stra├?e. I will stay here again when next in Hamburg. Moin!

This small hotel is only a ten minute walk from one of the most beautiful parks in the world. The area is not the smartest in Hamburg but the hotel is neat and calm and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. The hotel also has a pleasant little bar. The rooms are not huge but comfortable and clean with smart bathrooms and excellent showers. The back rooms overlooking the pleasant courtyard are best. Breakfast was very ample and varied and staff were charming and extremely helpful. Sadly, we w... Read more

The Hotel St. Annen offers a unique and distinctive atmosphere that cannot be found at the major chain hotels. The hotel is located on a quite street that is within easy walking distance of the harbor and tourist information center. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful and the room was very nice. Everything was very clean and of good quality. I enjoyed the nice breakfast they had morning. The only thing that could have been better was the internet connection. My wife and I lost con... Nice staff, good breakfast till 11.00 and a clean room. Free parking in the street. Receptionist was very helpfull and gave us some good advice. Only downside is that there is no airconditioning, making the hotelroom and breakfast room a bit warm in the summer.

Surprisingly quiet for an area of bars etc. In winter you wouldn't hear outside noise at all as they seem to have triple- glazing. In summer it was l quiet even with the windows open (we were at the back overlooking the terrace). There was so little internal noise that we were surprised to see so many guests at breakfast. Really liked the area, a little like parts of Paris. As a slightly alternative area there is a lot of moron scrawl which may reduce the enjoyment of some visitors. However, ther... Read more

This hotel was small, but had everything we needed. The room was modern and clean. We had a double bed and the sofa made into a bed for the kids (already done for us!!) The bathroom was clean and spacious. The staff spoke perfect English and were so friendly. Breakfast was delicious and served from 6:30-10:00. We went at 9:30 and they were still making more food until the end. Hot foods (eggs, sausage) as well as cold (breads, cheeses, meats, yogurt, muesli, etc.) A little out of the center of t... We stayed at the Hotel St Annen in Hamburg for 5 nights and from checkin to checkout nothing was too much trouble for the staff of this hotel. I was shown the gluten free breakfast options AND asked if there was anything special I needed, if so they would go out and buy them before breakfast the next day. A simple word each morning from then on and I would get museli and GF bread delivered to my table. Good range of options for breakfast and a variety of good eateries nearby ranging from Vietnam...
