Arrived late afternoon, welcomed at the reception with a smile. We had the same room as last year so we knew what to expect. Clean room and comfy beds, modern, clean and bright bathroom with the power shower. Again we went to the All nighter and danced the night away until the silly time in the morning of 6am. The bed was welcoming sight! Breakfast was again plentiful and of good quality. The wife had scrambled egg on toast and I had the cold buffet and plenty of coffee. The staff top - up the ... I've a unique insight into the different sides of this hotel, owing to the fact that I went in a party and saw more than one room and the contrast was stark. My friends got a room that I can only describe as looking like it was a bedsit, and would not have looked out of place on a Channel 5 benefits documentary. Dark, smelly (although that might be down to my mates) and not very appealing. I held out no hope for our room, especially as we had to walk into a courtyard to get to it. What we d... Read more

As soon as we arrived we saw a huge stag due outside it. It was pretty obvious stags would be staying here. Our room was a family room. Had 2 double beds. The Room was huge. The bathroom looked brand new. It even featured a huge mirror with built in digitial clock and light - this was a surprise as when you look at how much you pay and the outside of the building, you wouldnt expect this. The showers, basin, toilet etc all looked brand new! Great room. Our room looked onto one of the side st... Read more

The room was so dingy, there was hardly any daylight (one tiny window for a long room) and the view is a horrible back yard covered in pigeon droppings. It looks a bit like a scene from a horror film to be honest. The bathroom door was only a plastic fold-over door which doesn't exactly give you any privacy. The location of the hotel is great being a short walk away from the Reeperbahn but considering the price I expected a little better. Also breakfast wasn't even included in our rate. It was p... We stayed at the Budapester Hof Gästehaus in the residential area of a leafy suburb called Bahrenfeld. Only seven stops away from the main station, all the popular areas and the airport was connected by the same S-bahn line. The doorstep was practically just outside the station exit making it easier to get to than most places in the city center. Supermarket, an entertainment complex (with a movie theater, bowling alley, pool hall, and even a shisha cafe), and restaurants were all within a fe... Read more

good breakfast, good location, really close to subway station and to a quite big food-court commercial center, also easy to walk till St. Michael Church as one of the main attractions in Hamburg. Best option if you're going to Hamburg to attend a gig in Knust club. Wi-fi was not at its best though... :(

Ok I'm going to do this in a 'The Good, The Bad & The Ugly' style! The Good The hotel is only about 20 minutes from Hamburg Airport, it cost us about 25euros per taxi and we had 3 or 4 people in each so it's good and cheap. The rooms were mostly clean (although ours had mould on the ceiling), the bedsheets & beds were very clean. The reception staff were really nice and very helpful! More than happy to call us taxi's etc, and there is someone there 24hrs a day. Mega handy. Pricewise it was q... Read more

Visited Hamburg on Thursday 18th Feb with the main purpose of watching St Pauli F.C at the Millerntor stadium. The hotel budapestor Hof couldnt be better placed if it tried. The stadium is a 1 minute walk away and next door is the Jolly Roger which is a kind of a supporters club/pub and amazing inside with lots of stickers posters covering all the walls and windows. The Reeperbarn is a 7/8 minute walk away and if thats not your cup of tea then never fear as there is an abundance of small bars an... Read more

My husband, brother and I visited Hamburg for the first time this past summer and we were delightfully surprised by our stay at Hotel Budapester Hof. Don't be fooled by the rough graffitied exterior. The inside of the hotel is not incredibly upscale, but it's well-kept and cozy. The service is excellent - the staff happily answered all of our questions and directed us wherever we wanted to go. Even better, there was a bus right outside the door that took us just about everywhere we wanted to b... Read more
