Everything else was perfect and we enjoyed our stay. Location is in the center of the city, the room was nice and clean and the breakfast was great with a wide selection of bread, fruit, eggs etc. The hotel has fitness, pool and spa facilities. We'll be happy to come back.

A stay at the Marriot in Hamburg is rather expensive and then you expect something nice. We had made a reservation well in advance and when we arrived at around 14:30, we were told that the room would not be available before in a few hours. We had to store the luggage in the luggage room and first after 16:30 our room was available. During check-in we were told that the garage was full, so we needed to park elsewhere. When we asked in the entrance here the next parking would be, they told that t... Read more

I've booked the hotel with their mobile app. I announced my checkin with the app as requested and everything went perfect. Even extra room amenities were requested with the app. All hotel staff was super friendly. The room was ready upon arrival as requested. The hotel is centrally located at the Gänsemarkt. All touristic sites are in walking distance. A daycard for the HVV even brings you around time for a few euros only. The Gänsemark U-bahn (metro) entrance is just around the corner. We use... Months prior to my stay, I emailed the General Manager and received a friendly response from Martina Sautter, Guest Services Supervisor. I had booked smoking rooms by mistake on the hotel's website and Ms. Sautter changed my reservations and provided spacious Executive rooms for us. She was extremely accommodating and made sure that everything was exceptional. The Executive Lounge had great breakfasts and gourmet dinners so we did not eat out! The wine was amazing and desserts too tempting. Th... Read more

This hotel was a surprise at the end of a cruise. I was travelling with a girlfriend and it was the first visit to Hamburg for both of us. We only were able to stay one day, but with a map in hand, we discovered the Old City Centre. Just a few blocks from the hotel, it was a beautiful walk and because it was a Sunday, not traffic on the streets at all. The executive lounge was a welcome retreat with enough heavy appetizers for the evening happy hour that we were able to not need to go for di... Read more

The breakfast is one of the better I have expreienced in some hotels with lots of choice - fresh food - good cooked omlettes to order. The hotel is really well situated. Great facilities and nice rooms. Very good breakfast if you like breakfast. The pool and spa was really nice, but the one complaint I have is that the pool had a liner and not real tiles. Too expensive of a hotel to skimp on that, and the liner had expanded do to the pool being warmer than what the plastic could handle. Super expensive parking. Figure close to 30? per day.

In terms of location, the hotel is in an almost perfect location just 2-3 minutes walk from the Jungfernstieg, the Rathaus and Mockenbergstrasse. An underground station (Gansemarkt) is also located 2 minutes from the hotel. The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is in a quiet area but just 5 min walking distance to shops, restaurants and the U-bahn. The hotel itself is the usual Marriott standard. The rooms are comfortable and the services are good. There is a swimming pool and a SPA section which is a nice extra when travelling with kids.
