Nice hotel. Clean room only complaint is they charge 20 something euro for breakfast. I had dinner with 2 large beers and it was less than 20 euro at the bar in the hotel. So the breakfast must have ladies from the red light district serving to make it worth that much. I'm not cheap I'm just not paying 20+ euro for breakfast at a holiday inn.

We stayed one night after taking a train to Frankfort to catch a plane. The location is ideal and close to many things. The receptionists were very nice and helpful. The room is very clean and comfortable, but there's not a lot of room for storage. The breakfast buffet was very nice with a wide selection. Security is good too which is nice because there is a seedy area close by.

We had two adjoining rooms booked on IHG points. Very nice greeting at front desk in English. we were given rooms on excecutive level with free minibar which had mineral water, juice and a beer. The hotel ordered a taxi that one of us needed for 5:30 am.m the next morning. Also given a choice of 500 points added to IHG account or a free drink at the bar. The room were superb, comfortable beds, excellent shower, clean through out. There is limited free overnight parking on the street, or use the... Read more

We enjoyed staying here both upon our arrival to Germany and the night before we departed from Germany. The rooms were very clean, modern, and quiet! The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful!!! The location was very convenient to the train station, the river, and the downtown area (My only suggestion is to avoid the redlight district very near to the hotel...head toward either the river/train station or toward Alte Oper). I agreed the breakfast buffet was pricey but it was conveni... Read more

The hotel is located at the edge of the red light district. It is not that safe to walk around the area during the night. We encounter 2 homeless people asked for money on the way back to the hotel via Niddastrabe around 10 pm. The hotel staff did remind us that better to avoid turning left.....

Nice decorated, new, clean. You have coffee and tea in the room. No refrigerator/mini bar in the room. I've forgot my jacket in the room so they have sent it to München at their own costs. It was odd 'cause they've asked as a cash deposit. Not really usual for this kind of hotel.

Modern and beautiful hotel, rooms are really cosy. Breakfast is good too (but too expensive if it's not included in the room fare). The area is not really welcoming, there is the red light district and near the drug addicts. The service to the bar was not good.

Clean and very new. i would go back here, my only issue is the location - smack in the middle of the red light district. this part of town seems to have many drug users. The hotel is faultless otherwise, just located in crappy area. Stayed twice now.

For our 4 day stay in Frankfurt, for a short city trip, this hotel was simply perfect. It's extremely clean, the price is right, super comfy and the location is ideal. We could walk to the main train station in just 7 minutes. You can walk to the Alte Oper in 5 minutes, the main shopping street is 10 minutes away. There's the "red light" district nearby, that one should avoid at night and it's just around the corner. Avoid this and all should be fine :) All rooms have free WiFi, free bottled wat... Read more

I stayed here recently before embarking on a trip on the Romantic Road and had a fabulous stay. The hotel is a five minute walk from the main train station, which is a short train trip from the airport. I'd say it took me 20 minutes to reach the hotel from the airport. My room was clean, modern, and quiet, even though it faced the street. It's a standard sized room for Europe and the bathroom was a good size as well. Again, it was spotlessly clean. The staff was superb. They were friendly and he... Read more

Hotel is located closed to the city center. It is a new designed hotel, rooms are very clean and bed is comfortable. The personnel in the reception was very helpfull and interested in with the guests. The price was also Satisfactory. Only the street back of the hotel was quite crowded in the night due to bars.

The hotel is ideally situated close to Frankfurt HBF (Central Station) and all the major attractions and shopping streets of the city only a 10min walk. The room was very clean and comfortable and staff pleasant and helpful. Checking in and out was handled very efficantly by very helpful staff. Breakfast was first class with a good variety of cold and cooked varieties and breakfast times were more than adequate. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

It was tricky rating this hotel as 4, just because its located at the fringe of the red light district. But what the hotel loses out in location it makes up in hospitality and quality of service difficult to find fault with any aspect of the hotel per se. Reception was friendly, checkin and checkout was seamless. Rooms were well sized with a gentle colour combination of white and green which are standard holiday inn colours, breakfast was excellent too I do wish that the bathroom doors were d... Read more

This was my (and our) first ever stay in a Holiday Inn. One of my children is a big fan, in fact he is in their highest grade of regular customer, so we were expecting it to be good and we were not disappointed. A feature of major chain hotels in my experience is that they are usually pretty reliable when it comes to cleanliness and comfort and the Alte Oper Holiday Inn is both clean and comfortable (and quiet though to be fair we were on the 7th floor). I've come here for business before and will be coming back since I need to visit Frankfurt every so often. This hotel is clean and generally nice. Staff is friendly. The location is a short walk from the main station -- though please take my advice and take the North exit from the station, walk into the subway station, then pop back out on the other side onto Karlstrasse, which you then take to Mainzer Landstrasse direct to the hotel. Hotel rooms are very nice and clean. Prices of rooms are reasonable for a 4-star. If you are booking rooms and want to have breakfast in the hotel, do book during reservation...its 17 Euro....cheaper. If you pay onsite, it will cost about 25 Euro. Hotel staff very helpful. They will advise you that the hotel is at fringes of casinos and red-light district.,.. and usually suggests not to go there. Its not a problem and its very safe. There are quite a few restaurants around. Happy staying

We forgot our digital camera at the lobby, we were given it back by the reception guy . Hotel located near a red zone ( we've been informed by the reception lady ) as muslims but it was okay, we found a halal restaurant near too.. Hotel has a great location, is clean and contemporary. Room was comfortable, shower was great: sheets tightly tucked in, multiple pillows, fabulous water pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was generous with good variety; it was a mix of American and European style foods. Two issues keep me from awarding five stars: at check in, the clerk tried to give us a lower floor room, even though we had made reservations for an upper floor room over six months ago. From arriving at this immaculate hotel, we were treated well. The Executive room with balcony was good value, clean and had a great bed. The bathroom was spotless. Service was pleasant and breakfast was excellent. It isn't exceptional, it's a place you'd probably stay one or two nights, and there's no frills, but it's a great choice. From the super friendly welcome, the efficient check-in, the tasty breakfast, the super comfortable room I could go on and on. The hotel was great, close to the center, very clean, newly built. The clerk at the front desk very attentive and helpful, and both the check in and check out and very smooth and fast. The breakfast, included in our offer, was quite good, but the room was fairly full and very noisy due to guests that stayed after breakfast, standing along the tables and talking loudly. This Holiday Inn branch has small rooms with minimal facilities (e.g., no ice cube or vending machines), but the quality of the room is very good - the hotel seems to have been recently built of renovated. The #1 selling point is it's location - within walking distance of Frankfurt's financial center and it's major touristic attractions.

This Holiday Inn is situated very near the central train station and a not-too-long walk to the center of the "old" town, which is really just a post-WWII reconstruction, except for the Dom. There are a fair number of decent restaurants around but most are very expensive. The one in the hotel is OK but the bar is very good and drinks are reasonably-priced. Still a good hotel since last visit in 2015. Good breakfast, good location, attentive staff. However, the heating in the room did not work, and after we have mentioned that to the staff, the problem was not solved. The breakfast room layout is still unchanged, signalling a lack of adjustments to take advantage of a more efficient use of the space. There are not enough sitting options for only 1 or 2 people.
