The Motel One staff is courteous, friendly, and speaks English. The rooms are no frills but clean and have everything necessary for a pleasant stay. The breakfast was fine for me with a traditional selection of goods and decent coffee (honestly better than most American hotels). Think you hurt, soft boiled eggs, breads, etc. Given the hotel is across from Zwinger, it truly is the perfect location for old city site seeing with ample access to tourist busses, theater, and local restaurants. It's a new hotel with an underground car park (which fills up fast) right in the heart of the old city (the Kempinksi must be suffering). Neat tidy small rooms are all you need and breakfast is a cold buffet. The only downside is the fact that they seem to have a carpark that is too small because a lot of it is off limits to hotel guests. They need to sort that out or it will become a problem as parking is tricky otherwise.

The hotel is new, with modern decor, a very friendly and warm lounge area. The rooms are small but adequate. We were here during a cool period and the room was too warm. The breakfast was good with adequate offerings at the buffet. The breakfast room is on the smaller side especially during the breakfast rush and you may find you need to move out into the lobby area to sit and eat. The staff was very helpful and nice.

Stayed here for 4 nights whilst visiting friends who live in Dresden and they booked the hotel for me. The location is fantastic and I could not fault the hotel at all. All the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, the breakfast was to a very good standard - plenty of choice and relaxing informal layout to start your day and the reception /bar areas were modern and nice to relax in too. Rooms/ bathroom although on the small side were clean with all you need if the hotel is just a base. I wo... Read more

It's in the middle of everything! Very easy checkin. Very friendly smiling staff, in all departments. Very helpful with guidance & recommendations. I would stay there again definitely! No fridge or phone in room though, which suited it fine. Except a fridge would have been nice to store food. So, I ended up cranking up the A/C. The reception helped me again and again with much needed Tram info as well as finding a laundromat / wash salon. The Barman recommended Watske (on the Ring), an excelle... Read more

Highly recommended! This hotel has a great location very close to everything you need to see in Dresden. You can reach everything within minutes walk distance. Gently designed rooms, quiet new bit smaller, but still ok. Very good value for your money!

Motel One is simply ideal for a no frills place to stay. The rooms are not large, no mini bar, no cupboard, a very small bathroom with a large shower head but the place is spotless and the air conditioning always functions. This is the fourth or fifth Motel One we have stayed in so we know what to expect and have never been disappointed. We had room 375 and when we opened the window we had a fantastic view of the Zwinger. Breakfast costs ‚?¨9.50 and supplies you with the usual run of the mill st... Read more

This hotel has a perfect location in the centre of Dresden! The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast has all you need. You can even seat outside and enjoy the nice weather. There are parking slots (no free parking)nearby the hotel but not many so you have to be lucky. The personnel is nice and helpful. Perfect quality/ price.

Wonderful location.. Easy walk to everything in the alt stadt. The rooms are basic, but have all the necessary comforts, especially warm showers and very very sound proof. Easy elevators. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a little thin but works if you need something quick. There are also breakfast options a few steps out the door. And.... Check out the restful "fish" on the hotel television channel! :)

Have stayed at this hotel twice & both times have been great stays. 1st off, not that far to get to from the main station, and located just across the amazing Zwinger & also the Staatsschauspiel theatre - cracking views! The Altstadt is right on your doorstep so perfect for sightseeing. The hotel itself is great, motel one rooms are small but they are very modern & fresh - let's face it if you're on holiday who spends time in their room anyway! As I said, views are top drawer as well. The bar a... Read more

Stayed one week for a business trip. Good place to stay since you are in the middle of tourist spots and shopping stores. Staff are friendly and accommodating. We came too way early for our check in so they stored our luggage in their locker. This was really fantastic because we were able to tour the city while waiting for check in. Not much variety in buffet breakfast though but rooms are cleaned regularly. My room was in the 5th floor and has a good view.

This is a chic modern hotel in a fantastic location in Dresden. Standard rooms are small, but nicely decorated. The service staff are very friendly. Rooms are very clean. We had a nice view of the old town. Cheapest hotel parking in town.

Stylish Hotel, great location, very close to the main attraction in Dresden. Extremely pleasant and heplful staff. Easy check. Nice, clean and new rooms, a little bit small but ok for me. I missed a socket under the little working place. The hotel offers free wifi. Underground carpark. Restaurants and shopping mall close by. Great value for money. I definitely would recommend this hotel. Aufenthalt September 2016

Stayed 3 nights in this perfectly located budget- hotel, but unfortunatelly in a room overlooking the noisy and ugly Postplatz. Better choice are rooms overlooking Schweriner Stra√?e. Rooms and bathrooms are small, but well designed and have almost all amenities needed (except a minibar). Great and helpful reception staff, huge lobby, nice bar with big roofed outdoor area. Bar area also used for breakfast. We decided not to have breakfast in Motel1, as there is a great coffee- bar on the backsid... Read more

We have been there the second time, both times in the morning obviously some cleaning staff entered the room in the morning ours before we could realize the knocking. The receptions lady was arrogant turning to impolite at the check-in. All in all we wont come back!

No surprises here. This is a big chain. Great location for walking the old town. Cab from the rail station cost ‚?¨11. Rooms small but all we needed. Very clean and modern. Breakfast buffet very good but nothing hot. We liked it well enough to reserve one in Frankfurt.

I found this hotel on the internet and made reservations prior to departing home. This is a chain hotel. The room was small but clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. The location was great for sightseeing. The staff was friendly. Bar area is also used for breakfast. The breakfast was OK but could have been better. Was able to find a place to park our rental car. Would consider staying here again if ever in Dresden.

A few weeks ago, my wife and I spent three days visiting Dresden. We selected this hotel mostly on the basis of its location, next to the Zwinger Palace, within walking distance to the Fraukirche, and a short taxi ride away from the main train station.. The hotel is essentially brand new and very modern and stylish in design. It seems to cater mostly to business people, and it is probably good for short stays. Longer stays perhaps will lead you to let some details to bother you. Our room was v... Read more

Arrived here on 20/10/2016. Rooms were very small , no wardrobes, no safe , no tea and coffee maker in the room. There was no space in the room for these things. The staff though made up for these things. Fantastic staff. So warm and friendly. Always there to help the guests. Air Berlin had misplaced luggage. The reception tried for nearly an hour to help me contact the airline. Fairly ok breakfast. Nothing to write home about. Fantastically located , just a few minutes walk from the F... Read more

This is my second stay at a Motel One (the first in Berlin) hotel. For the price it offers, Motel One is a great bargain, especially with the decent breakfast spread it offers. The bed is comfortable, and the room I stayed in was spotlessly clean. Yes, the rooms may be on the smaller side, but I think it is assumed that guests staying at this hotel simply need a comfortable bed and bathroom facilities while spending time away from their home. My one wish, still, was to be allowed for a late che... Read more

I booked this hotel because it was the best-priced option in a prime location. I wanted to be close to the heart of downtown for access to the Zwinger, Frauenkirche, and Weihnachtsmarkt. It could not have been better located, and for the price it was everything I had hoped and more. We ended up adding on the breakfast the next morning. It was a very nice continental spread, and the huge lobby/dining area is bright, comfortable and inviting.

My room is simply decorated, but roomy as well. I seldom get a queen bed so I'm enjoying the comfort and size if it! It was pleasant to come into the room with the computer screen showing logs burning in a fireplace. The shower was wonderful!!
