I stayed 1 week (October 12-19 2014) for businies trip. Restaurant supervisor and staff disturbing treats. Good housekeeping. Location is good. Reception service is good. But restaurant service is so bad.

Internet is not included in room price and is unreliable when you do buy it. It constantly disconnects, making it impossible to do Skype calls, which are essential for me and many other business travelers. It has disconnected five times in the last ten minutes, and every time I have to re-input the password. What they call their "business center" is a computer in the corner of the lobby: the only place in the hotel to get reliable internet. They weren't doing laundry for guests when I was ther... The view was nice and the room was spacious, but everything else about this hotel was truly awful. The area is ugly and boring, the decor and furnishings are ancient, the shower was tiny with no water pressure at all, and the internet I paid for only worked for a few seconds at a time (when it worked at all.) The worst part however was how rude the staff was, from the manager to the front desk clerk to the to the maids. I was really shocked, in fact I left a day early even though my room was pai... The history of this hotel is fairly obvious - a Soviet-style monolithic building that has been partially updated to cater for post-unification visitors to Dresden. The location is great, a few minutes' walk from the old town. Our room was spacious, quiet and well-furnished, including a mini-fridge and a large HD television that received the BBC World Service . Don't expect a satisfactory wi-fi service, though. The beds were comfortably firm, though you will probably need to ask for extra pillow... Read more

We stayed here two nights as part of a group tour, and I was initially disappointed by not staying in the old city. However, in our room the unobstructed view from the huge windows facing west toward the magnificence of Dresden completely won me over. The sunset our second night was truly spectacular. It was only by chance that we had this upper floor room, but now you know to ask for it. Otherwise, there is nothing special about this hotel, although our room was large and clean, and the locat... Plain looking from the outside but truly nice inside! Charming and knowledgeable employees deliver great service. Huge rooms, comfy beds, modern bathrooms, all very clean. Great breakfast in the park (or inside, your choice). Locked shed for bicycles available.

Hotel overlooks The Elbe and is about 2 minutes from a tram stop and 10 minutes walk into the centre of Dresden. At first view it looks like a 1960's block of flats, Steps up to receptionbut an external ramp is provided. The inside is well appointed, well decorated and modern. Check in was very quick, reception incorporates a small lounge and bar. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very large and spacious, with two wardrobes set up to form a dressing area. Television and minibar but n... Read more
