I stay in Ibis hotels a lot and this was the first I have been disappointed with. The staff obviously were having a bad day. We were kept waiting when we booked in , kept waiting whilst we asked for a pillow, Maid tried to get in the room at just after 9 AM. The Hotel was clean and the room standard for the level of IBIS. The location was 25 minutes walk from the centre of town but not too far from the U Bahn. It simply was not the level of service I have experienced at many other Ibis hotels

I am an accor member and very often choose IBIS hotels wherever I go.This one was by far the worst: We chose it because of the parking available but when we arrived we realised the pk was full as they only have 60 places for 200 rooms! The service was very poor as they have only 2 persons in the reception and bar included, the room was super small, dump in the shower, no HOT water (they said this was exceptional but anyways did't add to the bad image we had) and the telephone didn't work to ask... Had the opportunity to stay in July 2015 for few days. Its well located, at a walking distance of tram station no. 15 & 16 at Barbarosoplatz. Few asian and continental restaurants are at a walking distance. There is a direct train no. 16 to Koln Dom via Neumarkt and Heumarkt. Clean, comfortable rooms, cordial staff and offers sumptuous buffet breakfast. Best value for money !

This hotel was 50 euros per night...... 50 euros to stay in a centrally located hotel in a major European city!! Ok the rooms are not dripping with amenities but there is a bed and a shower which were perfectly fine. The staff coped well with a group booking of 20 guys and arranged taxis for us all to get to the restaurant we were booked into. If you are looking for a cheap hotel for a couple of nights then you wont go too far wrong here.

Great hotel for business and vacation stays...service in this 2star rated hotel exceeded my expectation...the location of this hotel is ideal....walkable to town ..the proximity to the UBhan stop is 2 mins...The offering of a 24 hours full bar service ...and a reasonably priced room service menu ...was not expected...great English speaking staff who were more than willing to help ...all in all can't complain.....and by the way the bed was very comfortable I do hope they keep the standard...

I stayed for 3 nights in the Ibis centrum, booking there as I was under the (evidently misguided) impression that being an ibis, they would maintain a certain standard. I got off to a bad start when trying to check in around 5pm I was stood around waiting for 15 mins while the 2 staff were trying to check in two groups, serve a number of football fans at the bar & generally try and do the work of at least 3-4 people. Once I did get checked in the room was quiet & clean but very dark (no central ... Read more

Stayed here in May with a friend. The purpose in Cologne was to enjoy the delicious beer and see a few sites so we were looking for a cheap room with a good location. With this hotel we got both. The rooms were small but we were only interested in a place to put our head down. Saying that the bathroom was small but the shower worked and everything appeared clean so had no complaints. I have stayed in IBIS hotels before and was happy with this one. The location on its own was worth the stay.

Our room smelt of damp & full of bugs. Within the first hour of being there i had got bitten. The staff are so unhelpful! We got charged about £100 more then advertised. The room was tiny. The shower was a joke. Everytime we used it, we had to find a position not to wet the bathroom in the poorly designed shower. I wouldnt recommend this hotel.

I'm sure people go on here just to get recognised as a nark. And I'm also sure that some of the people who write reviews and leave negative feedback are snobs. I travel quite a lot and visit many hotels. Prior coming to here I have read absolutely damming reports about this hotel we are currently in. BELIEVE ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS HOTEL. We are in room 335 which is a little small but adequate. It is probably a single room but because of our request that there was a disabled person t... Read more

The windows at the first floor are closed, you only have air conditioning. The rooms are clean but the double has twin beds: the offer wasn' really an offer. The bathroom is little and the breakfast is not included, the price is a little bit higher.

Reception staff were very helpful. Located 5 minutes walk from Barbarossaplatz, which has 5 tram routes running through it lines running through it. 4 stops from Cologne Hoptbanhof, 3 stops with a change to Heumarkt, bottom of old town. Lovely comfy beds for a good night's sleep. Small bathroom has a powerful shower and for a change a window that opens, very pleasant, a whole lot less condensation. Breakfast area very spacious. Usual fayre and bacon butties aplenty! Purchased two rooms for a tot... Read more

The room was very clean (contrary to other reviewers here). It was a little difficult to talk to some of the people working at the hotel because of the language barrier, but they were still for the most part very nice.

The hotel is located in a good area of Koln, but if you want to walk to the city center you will spent about 25 minutes at least. The room was ok, a little bit small, but ok. The bed is terrible, because we feel bites fleas in the leg all night.

the room is very small, the bathroom was really too small for me. they didn't give enough toilet papers. also on the last day they didn't let us sleep for as long as we want (there was no "don't disturb" signs in the room). the service was helpful and the bed was confy, so overall we didn't have too many problems. maybe we choose this hotel next year again.

Lovely hotel, clean rooms.Staff are very friendly . Shops and restaurants close by for breakfast ,lunch etc. Tram stop right across from the hotel so easy access to the centre or Koln Masse. Free wifi which was really good and an area in reception for printing boarding passes etc.

The hotel is situated near the Koeln center which is suitable to business travellers. I spent two night here during Drupa. The hotel is clean enough. But the night receptionist was a little dummy obout my booking for Accor points. So the other one managed everything OK next morning. And the room was so small!!!

As far as I was with a car, the ibis Hotel Koeln Centrum was quite good for me. The Hotel is located in a place with some restaurants nearby and the parking lot is right below the building (very easy for stays with a lot of luggages like my trip).

We always stay on ibis.. this hotel didn t dissapoint us. It s a little far from the central koln but it s a lot of better to stay in this location. Soundproof, away from the noise of koln central. One block behind of the hotel, you can find 2 good restaurants with real german food, wow so delicious. Trams 16 or 18 takes you from the main station to the hotel, only 4 stops and leave the tram at barbarosaplatz. Main station koln, gate 2, tram 16 or 18, first 3 stops are underground then 4 th stop... Read more

Stayed for a few nights during Photokina. Any deficiencies in the room (small, very tight bathroom) was made up by the very welcoming staff, particularly the front desk. Breakfast area and bar and standard enough. Wifi was good and didn't need a long registration process. Good location for walking into town.

Our ten days stay at Ibis Cologne Centrum Hotel was overall, average. The hotel is situated in a good location though, just minutes away from the train station and streets of eateries. It was notably a plus point. It was our stay in this hotel, the forth time over the years. During this trip, we realized that the front desk staffs are mostly unfriendly and lacked sincerity including the one in jacket. Perhaps they are mostly part-timers and lack commitment in their job. They always give peopl... Read more

I stayed for two night whilst visiting Photokina. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk to the metro station, this will take you anywhere you wish to go. The room was clean. The service was typically "Cologne", efficient but cold. The rooms are very small especially the bathroom. The hotel is the opposite side to the airport, so if you have an early flight and you don't want to risk getting on the wrong train, a taxis will cost you around £28. One gripe was every time I went to my room my key didn'... Read more

We were only here for 2 nights but the stay was pleasant. The staff was friendly and check-in process was very quick. The room was very tiny, but had AC. The only complaint I have about the room is the pillows were horrible and lumpy. I was glad I had a small one that I'd been carrying throughout our trip to sleep on. Hotel has a bar that served some great German beers, plus room and food service though we didn't use it. The most convenient thing about this hotel is they will store luggage f... Read more
