We had not had a good impression as we arrived. We booked a double room. When we went to the room, it had two single beds. We went back to the reception and the staff after couple of calls, told us that nothing could be done until the next day. We slept the first night in two beds. The next morning when we came up to the reception to exchange rooms, the staff informed us that the exchange would be made but we should go down with the bags and leave in the storage, because the room would be ready ... We recently stayed here for two nights, basically you get what you pay for. The hotel isn't too far from Heumarket U-Bahn station, there's a little kiosk over the food selling drinks etc and a Mülhrn Kölsch beer hall around the corner. We checked with no problem, receptionist was friendly enough but there was someone there washing the floor who was a bit miserable, we were told there was a problem with the double room we booked so we were given a bigger room. This was room 46 right at the top,... Read more

This was the best value hotel we had on our whole trip. Breakfast was not included but the location is excellent - not right in the centre but only 5 to 10 minutes easy walk from main squares and Cathedral. The room was simple but had everything we needed and was quiet. We had very good interactions with helpful staff. Excellent value for the price. I would stay there again.

I stayed here for two nights. The location is very close to the city center. Parking is very easy in a parking garage nearby. The hotel will validate your parking ticket to get a discount there. The rooms are not very modern but will have everything you would expect and are clean. The breakfast has a variety of choice for most people. If you want a affordable room at a good location this hotel would be recommended!

This hotel is indeed wonderfully situated within walking distance to all sights and attractions in Cologne however that is about it. Wedged between sex shops this hotel boasts having the rudest staff one could imagine, the breakfast (charged at 10 euros) is just an offering of a few cold cuts and cheeses - total ripoff - and the staff - when approached to complain - have a "shrug the shoulder" attitude. Even the shift supervisor actually just shrugged her shoulders at me when I complained about ... Read more

This is a very basic hotel. Cheap and clean and simply basic. Very small room and bathroom, no kettle, no fridge but has a bottle of water on the desk and also a hairdryer. It's well located near heumarkt station, just 2 minutes away and also 2 minutes away from the river. But we were on the first floor and could here quite some noise from the street during the night. However beds are comfortable and after long days of walking in the city, we slept well. If you are not fussy, then this is a good... Read more

This hotel is in a good location for easy access to the city centre and river. Only a 15 minute walk from the central station and less than 5 to the tram stop. It is however opposite a gay night club and next to gay sex shops. Our room was right on the road and was extremely noisy all night. If you are a light sleeper this may be a problem. There is a small kiosk shop opposite and a pizza place for dinner if you don't want to venture too far. Room was small but not unexpected. I found the bed t... Read more

First thing you notice, is that there are sex shops and other very explicit adult entertainment shops right next to the hotel, which is not the hotel's fault but was really unfortunate because I brought a young child with me (10 years old).. Luckily I was able to distract her and she never saw it. Plus points: clean bathroom, comfortable and clean beds, quiet hotel, good-night's sleep, great location and can walk to the centre of Koeln in 15 mins, friendly staff Negative points: sex shops, bathr... I was staying in Cologne to visit the Gamescom so I was searching for a hotel near to the Kölnmesse. When I arrived I was a little shocked to hear that I shouldn't leave the hotel in the night. But it wasn't that of a problem because I wen't to the convention at 8am and returned at 6 or 7pm. Long story short The hotel staff was extremely nice polite. Because the room I originally booked had a water damage I got upgraded to a better room with more space. The bathroom may have been a little smal... Read more

to be honest, this hotel is more like a travellers lodge or inn instead of a hotel. It's fine if you are just crashing for a night. Location is pretty convenient, it's about 10 mins walk from the center district. Room was pretty small and double bed was just 2 single bed putting together. Good thing about this was that it's cheap.

I booked this hotel for the one night only. It seemed to be in an ideal location, a short walk from everything and near the beautiful medieval heart of the Old Town The walk from the medieval quarter started to become a little seedy once I'd crossed the tramway although I never felt it to be threatening. I'm no prude but I could've done without the gay porn shop next door, the gay porn shop a few doors away on the other hand and the gay bar opposite and although it wasn't a problem in its... I booked this because it was central, close to the Rhine and the centre of the city. It was easy to get around from there. The staff were very good. Our first room faced the street and was very noisy. We were there when it was very hot and because the building is hundreds of years old it doesn't have air conditioning. We asked to be moved the next morning and our room was a lot quieter at the back of the hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable but although they advertise cable t.v. it doesn'... Read more

My wife and I stayed here for two nights for a short break in Cologne. We found the hotel was in a great location for the Old Town and shopping areas. We found it to be very clean, beds were on the firm side but not uncomfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast could have had more choice but what there was, was very good. The reception and breakfast room had a very medieval feel to it with dak wood panelling. When we got there and checked in we were given a room uprade... Read more

I went there for the Gamescom (video games show - end of August), and stayed for three nights. Location is very good - practicaly in the center. Micro location is not so ideal, especially if you are traveling with children - gay shop and gay cinema are on the left and right of the hotel, and cafes in the street look very much gay friendly. On the other hand if you are looking for that, might be ideal. Hotel itself is located in a building that was not ment to be hotel in the first place, so man... Read more

The hotel stoped some decades ago! Everything is old and the rooms are depressing. They gave me a ground floor room, so, during the night i was Constantly being awaked by the guest going to their rooms and opening the door for the stairs. Central location. Honestly it doesn't stand as a Novum group hotel.

The hotel is in a good location for the centre of Cologne however the staff and facilities and wifi were poor. The decoration in the rooms was dated and falling apart and the communal areas were cold and unwelcoming.

We stayed here as it was close to the Christmas markets with just a 5 minute walk. The staff were very helpful and spoke good English, the breakfast was ok and the rooms were clean. I only have a few moans..... 1-Quite often the stairwell and corridors smelled of cigarettes. 2-The lift is tiny and doesn't go to the top floors. 3-The doors/walls are amazingly thin, so much so we could hear our neighbours full conversations. If you're a heavy sleeper or nosey, this hotel is ideal for you. Close... Read more

We booked last minute and paid less than ?60 for our room, and a friend paid similar for her room! To begin, the reception staff were friendly and helpful! From there, it was downhill! Outside our room was bags of rubbish! Not the best start! Our room was small, not very clean, and the window seemed to not seal properly as the wind could blow into the room! The bathroom was the worst part of the room, as it stank of sewage! The shower was questionable!! Our friends room was a triple room, ... Read more

We chose this hotel as it seemed pretty central and the location is good especially for the Christmas markets . However the hotel has a strange macabre feel to it with a dingy and uninspiring reception , although the staff were helpful if a little cold . The rooms were enough for my boyfriend who has lower expectations than me but the tools were basic at best with soviet 1950 style furnishings and radiators . The rooms appeared to be made of toilet roll cardboard and we're so thin I could hear e... Read more
