Just 50m from underground station and pretty much in the middle of everything in old East Berlin. Nicely decorated and quite room - though small. Nice central patio with live piano playing in the evenings but gets crowded - not too many tables. Will happily stay again.

Wonderful hotel, in the heart of Berlin. I am a foodie so can not say enough about the breakfast- the best- ever. Smoothies ready to go, every tea leaf you could imagine ready for you to mix yourself or regular bags. Everything you could wish for. The hotel itself was beautiful and the spa. The staff were friendly, rooms were clean, beds comfy. Can not complain about a thing.

Very well located. Room a good size and well lit. We had a late snack when we arrived and this was good, served by friendly staff. Breakfast buffet excellent. I would have given a higher rating if wifi hadn't been 15 euros! I can't remember the last time a hotel tried charging for wifi and i am writing this review on Stockholm airport's free wifi service. I used the 4G on my ipad at the hotel but did not see why I should have to.

This hotel is beautiful and in prime tourist location. It's your typical Westin- room service, pool, small gym (‚?¨5 for trainers and socks if you forgot yours), spa, breakfast buffet (‚?¨35 extra). All the amenities are nice and service is efficient. My only complaint is how long it took me to get to my room. It took 2 elevators and three long hallways to get there. There was nothing simple about accessing the room. It was updated and the bed was nice (a must). If I had stayed more than 2 night... Read more

I like this place, it's perfectly located and offers what you need in a big hotel. Entrance is impressive with the large stairs. Personnel always very polite and attentive, very good breakfast and a good choice of TV channels. Guess though that some work needs to be carried out, specially for the carpets and the bathroom which tub has still a mechanic arm for the shower , unacceptable nowadays at this hotel level. Also the bathroom products are not adequate in terms of quality. Prices perhaps... Read more

This is the second time that I have stayed at this hotel. The location is the best with an U-Bahn station right at the front door and great restaurants, sights and shopping within a few blocks. The people on the desk and the concierges were great. The heavenly beds and linens are still top notch. But, overall, it seems like their fifth star is losing its luster. The double room is small, and has precious little storage space. Even the nightstands provide no shelves or drawers and there is ... Read more

OVERALL IMPRESSION: The Westin Grand Berlin is a very large hotel. Very elegant place, but some areas of the hotel seem to be in need of a remodel. Fortunately, I had read many TripAdvisor reviews before checking in, so my expectations were dampened. Granted it's a great location, but the rooms are average, the wi-fi is expensive and barely spotty, the shower was a nightmare, they are very sparing with the towels and toiletries. But, as I said, it's a great location central to a lot of great sight-seeing, shopping, restaurants and nightlife. And, I have to admit the bed was comfy!

The hotel is located on a prime piece of real estate in central Berlin, just around the corner from Unter Den Linden, a street full of great bars, restaurants etc. A couple of hundred metres away you can find the Brandenburger Tor and Checkpoint Charlie , (as was) and also the museum island which is quite close. Family visit to Berlin for weekend, got cheap flights so spent a bit more on hotel. From walking in the door on Friday evening to leaving on Monday we had a great experience. Would go back there in the morning. Location is very good, walking distance to many sight seeing attractions, close to train station, but very quite in our rooms. On the down side, free WiFi was only in reception area and breakfast was expensive (but lots of local spots to go to as cheaper alternative) Classy hotel.

I stayed at the Westin Grand Berlin for one night in July 2015 and found the place to be quite nice! There's a lot of dark woodwork around, yet that just sets a nice and nostalgic mood to it all. The bed - highly comfortable and the service staff were really attentive. Add in a decent breakfast with lots of hot and cold choices, and that's all you can ask for, right? I also used their gym and pool-facilities, providing for a nice head start on the day. All in all, recommended.

Everything was very average, apart from the great breakfast, one of the best I've had. A good base in the center of Berlin for people on 'work' or 'play' trips. But compared with many of the other Westin's I've been to, it really needs a refresh, and an addition of more staff to help with waiting times. The Wi-Fi was basically non-existant. When billed for it, I gave a simple 'no'.

One could say I lived here for a year, over the last 10 years. And I truly love this hotel: it is old school, stylish but not modern, very attentive has great Spa Suites (the perfect place for your romantic weekend getaway), numerous movies have been taken here (Jason Bourne and others), the best ball room of the town and an amazing staircase in the middle of the lobby. Afternoon tea is delicious as the cakes are.

I spent three nights at the Westin Grand and enjoyed the stay. The location is excellent: a few blocks from the Brandenburg Gate, good shopping all along Friedrichstrasse, a bunch of restaurants within a block or so. My room overlooked a back garden; it was quiet, and there was a comfy chair with good reading light. The room did not have a safe, which is always a nuisance because you have to carry your passport with you;otherwise there was everything one could want. Both the front desk and ... Read more

Great facilities including a spacious bar, pool and sauna. I would suggest crossing the road and heading to the cafe for breakfast. Easy access to shops and transport. Also relatively easy to get the bus from the airport.

All we visited was the pavement cafe. Strangely for a city centre hotel, the waitress' English was less than fluent. Between that and our poor German we managed to get what we wanted. Had a vege burger and chips which were delicious. Prices are very fair for a quality hotel. If you do the same, please go inside and look at the spectacular hotel, built round an atrium. Restrooms are very comfortable too. Delightful.

On the outside an amazing 5 star hotel in a great location. The reception staff and waiters and waitresses in the lobby bar were all very helpful. The one failing was the quality of the room, it was not bad just slightly worn in places. Scuff marks on doors, leather edgings showing wear and tear plus a missing handle from the French windows. Just little things that brought the overall quality of the hotel down a notch.

For anyone wanting a decent standard hotel near enough to most of the popular areas in the Mitte area, then the Westin is a good choice. The added extra of a swimming pool adds to the experience. We had a garden view room which was ok, but I did feel a bit cheated when I realised we were a hike away from the lifts and the garden 'view' was not that great as we were not directly above the garden area. Note that Internet is not free and quite difficult to use, even if you pay for it. Service was just ok. We didn't eat any meals at the hotel, so I cannot comment on that. The location of the hotel is excellent. It's is in walking distance to many of the attractions, including check point Charlie, the Jewish memorial, and plenty... Read more

Like many luxury hotels that I have visited, the main qualities of the Westin Grand Hotel are in the details and what you don't notice - the details. I was recently in Berlin for an extended weekend visit and I can only add my 2 cents to what has been written already - it is truly a grand hotel in the European sense. It is not a flashy hotel and I can only describe it as discrete luxury. It is perfectly located at the corner of Friedrichstrasse and Unter den Linden which is historically known a... Read more

My wife and I stayed here last week. The hotel is very good. As previously mentioned the location is ideal in the centre of Berlin. The rooms are well insulated against the traffic noise and well equipt. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Westin Grand in Berlin. It was a 10-minute ride from the train station and very centrally located. Upon arrival, we entered the incredibly grand lobby complete with large central staircase and a great bar. Our room was ready upon our arrival and we were upgraded to a suite which overlooked the park behind the building as well as a slight view of the Reichstag dome. The hotel was very centrally located, just minutes from the Brandenburg Gate, Ch... Read more

2 nights courtesy of Viking cruises and they sure started the cruise with a hotel that set the bar high. Nothing to complain about, staff are attentive, friendly & the rooms very comfortable. I would stay again.

Good hotel right near all of the main attractions and convenient to the train and subway stations. Was easy to get around and there is a bus right around the corner that goes to the airport. All the main sites were within walking distance and hotel was nice.

The Hotel is Classically designed and is beautiful to look at when you enter the reception. The rooms are to a high standard and are very comfortable. The meals and drinks available in the lobby bar are to high standard, together with the meals served in the main restaurant. Staff at all times are friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideally located to walk to many of the attractions in Berlin

I stayed here with work for 2 nights. 16th-18th November. 2016. The rooms are old and brown! Need a refurb. The rooms were so hot that you couldn't sleep without the windows being open. The air con was the worst I have ever had!! On a plus point bathrooms were good and the hotel is in a great location. The bar area was nice.

This was my partner and I first time in Berlin, we paid a lot for three nights away, we arrived, and checked in, we then went to our room to discover that it was a twin room when we paid for a deluxe double! We querried this at reception to be told that no other rooms were available and we had to check back in the morning! The next morning came, and the quality of breakfast was okay, the layout and presentation was poor and untidy. The staff clear tables and that's it, no service at all, ... Read more

We stayed in this lovely property twice on a 2 1/2 month journey around Europe. The second time was a day stay to get some rest between two over night trains with sleeper cabins. This is a great choice within walking distance of the Brandenburg Gate and the remains of Checkpoint Charlie, other memorable places I knew as a graduate student. The rooms are fine, the bar/lounge area stays open reasonably late for a nightcap.

I stayed for two nights for a seminar held at the hotel . The hotel is indeed grand, especially the public areas such as the lobby and restaurants. I had a standard de luxe room on the second floor, which was nice with ALMOST everything one could need - lovely bed, ample closet space, coffee maker. The sound insulation was also good, so the traffic outside was not a problem. However, neither the room nor the conference venue had WiFi. I find that an obvious letdown in a hotel of this standard. ... Read more

The room decor is a bit tired and tattered. The service, however, is still attentive and luxurious and the location second to none. All the trappings of a luxury hotel are preserved -- turndown, a knowledgeable concierge, lots of towels, a great breakfast and a mixologist at the lobby bar. To the hotel's credit its daily room price is significantly decreased from its more up to date neighbors. It truly is a bargain to get location and service at the price they are presently charging.

The front receptionist at check-in was amazing. I have been traveling for over 2 weeks at this point. Started in Portugal with habitat for humanity than a week in Germany, starting in Neuss and driving to Kassel area and finally to Berlin. We have been on the go and after returning the car and taking the train into Berlin, the hotel was less than 10 minute walk. She check us in early which gave us a chance before we started exploring an amazing city. The hotel is in the perfect location, ideal f... Read more

The hotel is conveniently located. Berlin at your fingertips for business or leisure. Lobby is nice and restaurant is good. Rooms are spacious but somewhat in need of update. My room was rather warm even after turning off the heating. The vent brought little to no relief and opening the window brings in road noise. Bed was very soft and two singles unconnected. I managed to separate them during the night and almost fell through. Also the furnishing has seen better days. Showering in the tub is u... Read more
