Just 50m from underground station and pretty much in the middle of everything in old East Berlin. Nicely decorated and quite room - though small. Nice central patio with live piano playing in the evenings but gets crowded - not too many tables. Will happily stay again.

Wonderful hotel, in the heart of Berlin. I am a foodie so can not say enough about the breakfast- the best- ever. Smoothies ready to go, every tea leaf you could imagine ready for you to mix yourself or regular bags. Everything you could wish for. The hotel itself was beautiful and the spa. The staff were friendly, rooms were clean, beds comfy. Can not complain about a thing.

Very well located. Room a good size and well lit. We had a late snack when we arrived and this was good, served by friendly staff. Breakfast buffet excellent. I would have given a higher rating if wifi hadn't been 15 euros! I can't remember the last time a hotel tried charging for wifi and i am writing this review on Stockholm airport's free wifi service. I used the 4G on my ipad at the hotel but did not see why I should have to.

This hotel is beautiful and in prime tourist location. It's your typical Westin- room service, pool, small gym (‚?¨5 for trainers and socks if you forgot yours), spa, breakfast buffet (‚?¨35 extra). All the amenities are nice and service is efficient. My only complaint is how long it took me to get to my room. It took 2 elevators and three long hallways to get there. There was nothing simple about accessing the room. It was updated and the bed was nice (a must). If I had stayed more than 2 night... Read more

I like this place, it's perfectly located and offers what you need in a big hotel. Entrance is impressive with the large stairs. Personnel always very polite and attentive, very good breakfast and a good choice of TV channels. Guess though that some work needs to be carried out, specially for the carpets and the bathroom which tub has still a mechanic arm for the shower , unacceptable nowadays at this hotel level. Also the bathroom products are not adequate in terms of quality. Prices perhaps... Read more

This is the second time that I have stayed at this hotel. The location is the best with an U-Bahn station right at the front door and great restaurants, sights and shopping within a few blocks. The people on the desk and the concierges were great. The heavenly beds and linens are still top notch. But, overall, it seems like their fifth star is losing its luster. The double room is small, and has precious little storage space. Even the nightstands provide no shelves or drawers and there is ... Read more

OVERALL IMPRESSION: The Westin Grand Berlin is a very large hotel. Very elegant place, but some areas of the hotel seem to be in need of a remodel. LOCATION: 5/5 Great location, walking distance from the Brandenburg Gate and Checkpoint Charlie. Also close to a couple metro stations. ROOMS: 5/5 Rooms were very roomy, and nice - I think we had a recently remodeled room. Shower was good with hot water and good pressure. Fortunately, I had read many TripAdvisor reviews before checking in, so my expectations were dampened. Granted it's a great location, but the rooms are average, the wi-fi is expensive and barely spotty, the shower was a nightmare, they are very sparing with the towels and toiletries. But, as I said, it's a great location central to a lot of great sight-seeing, shopping, restaurants and nightlife. And, I have to admit the bed was comfy!

The hotel is located on a prime piece of real estate in central Berlin, just around the corner from Unter Den Linden, a street full of great bars, restaurants etc. A couple of hundred metres away you can find the Brandenburger Tor and Checkpoint Charlie , (as was) and also the museum island which is quite close. The hotel is indeed grand, as the name suggests and yet mixes the modern with the established extremely well. and the staff are extremely polite, friendly and efficient. An excellent ba... Read more

Family visit to Berlin for weekend, got cheap flights so spent a bit more on hotel. From walking in the door on Friday evening to leaving on Monday we had a great experience. Would go back there in the morning. Location is very good, walking distance to many sight seeing attractions, close to train station, but very quite in our rooms. On the down side, free WiFi was only in reception area and breakfast was expensive (but lots of local spots to go to as cheaper alternative) Classy hotel.

I stayed at the Westin Grand Berlin for one night in July 2015 and found the place to be quite nice! There's a lot of dark woodwork around, yet that just sets a nice and nostalgic mood to it all. The bed - highly comfortable and the service staff were really attentive. Add in a decent breakfast with lots of hot and cold choices, and that's all you can ask for, right? I also used their gym and pool-facilities, providing for a nice head start on the day. All in all, recommended.

No free English newspaper delivered each morning even though I requested it several times during check in, there are newspapers by the concierge if I wanted to BUY one. Also no free wifi in the room. Decent hotel, with minor needs for upgrading. We had a spa-suite, which was great - but even here there were things which needed to be fixed (bathtub tap didnt work etc. ). Nice lobby, but maybe a little old fashioned and dated. Ok breakfast and friendly staff. Good value for money.

We spent a long-weekend at this wonderful and greatly located hotel. Room was spacious and very nice by all means and staff very very gentle and helpful. To our surprise food at the lobby bar was varied, reasonably priced and in line with billing levels at any other bars/restaurants at the neighbourhood. So should you arrive late do not hesitate to use its eating/drinking facility as sometimes distances in Berlin are long. Last but not least, and the only dark spot pointed out by other guests to... Everything was very average, apart from the great breakfast, one of the best I've had. A good base in the center of Berlin for people on 'work' or 'play' trips. But compared with many of the other Westin's I've been to, it really needs a refresh, and an addition of more staff to help with waiting times. The Wi-Fi was basically non-existant. When billed for it, I gave a simple 'no'.

It was a good stay over there for 4 days. Rooms were good. not that expensive, still many options are there in and around the same. Many places to see near the hotel itself.. Railway is the best to be used to move from Airport to hotel as it is costing only 2.5 euro and the station is very near by.

Great location, and for Europe, good sized rooms. Bathroom was nice and roomy too. I did find the twin beds to be tiny, and it never felt like I had AC on in my room no matter what temperature I set it to (and even after asking the front desk to check it out). Okay, but not great gym. Nice sauna and pool. Excellent brunch!

As a Starwood Gold member I got upgraded to a suite. I asked what such an upgrade usually costs and was told EUR 125. In my opinion the extra cost is a steal as the suites are exceptionally elegant and comfortable. Many of the suites are 'themed' and generously equipped with quality amenities. Berlin is undergoing masses of renovation, so lots of scaffolding and screened off buildings - the work that has already been done is superb, so this is a city that is evolving. We were pleasantly surprised by the Westin Grand Berlin. For a tourist looking to see the most popular sites, the location is perfect. The property itself is aging, but our room appeared to have been renovated over the last year or so, with new furnishings and flooring, and an excellent view of a grassy rooftop courtyard. The concierge was helpful when we needed them (umbrellas, airport taxi, etc.). And the breakfast buffet is a site to behold. If we returned to Berlin, we'd be back.

I stayed one night to see the sights and conduct some business. Hotel is to North American standards and was clean and well appointed with everything you would expect from a Westin hotel. Location is perfect for all the main sights of Berlin and puts them in walking distance. I didn't eat in the hotel so cannot comment on that. If you wanted a more traditional German hotel then look elsewhere but if you want a predictable and luxurious hotel in the centre of town then this is perfect.
