its a nice & simple hotel. the room which i stayed was the comfort one (4th floor). not big not too small. they cleaned everyday. The staff is really helpful. the metro train passes right under the building and you can hear it but i didnt found it very annoying. one thing that i found poor was that every morning was the same breakfast (I stayed there for 7 nights)

So, the hotel does not hide the fact that the rooms facing the street can be a bit noisy. That's why they're cheaper than the rooms facing the courtyard. I had a room facing the street and was apprehensive after reading some of the reviews here, but it is not nearly as terrible as they make it seem. Yes, you can hear the underground every once in a while, but it's nothing like an earthquake, it's just faint noise. The traffic can be heavy in what is apparently one of the more important streets i... Read more

The hotel has a great location, just at the Opera U station, just accross Deutche Oper. Rooms are nice and warm, offering all you need. Breakfast is good, and they also offer complementary coffee and tea in the dining room all day long. Staff was kind and it is a good value for money.

This is a great place to stay if you fancy a visit at the Deutsche Oper, the Schiller or the Renaissance Theatre. Staff is very friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable and breakfast buffet provides a good choice of food. Also the free WiFi works very good (even for streaming). The only downside seems the noisy and busy street in front of the hotel and that my bathroom was a bit old fashioned...

The reason for our visit was to attend performances both at the Deutsche Oper and at the Staatsoper, then temporarily lodging at the Schiller Theater just a few steps down Bismarckstrasse. Given the hotel's location, our needs were amply met. It also provided a good base of excursions elsewhere in the city. The rooms are small, but quite satisfactory for three or four night's stay.

Good hotel at a fairly good location.loved the breakfast.but the rooms were bit cramped and when the weather is humid it can get sweaty without the air conditioning.overall good experience except the cramped room and without the air conditioning.

Good welcome, clean room, good bed, good varied breakfast, reasonable rate and, above all else, great location; I'd guess, from the Oper U-Bahn station to the hotel it's just 50 steps (if you get on the last carriage of the train and come out of the subway exit by the last carriage). To be clear, we needed somewhere for a single night before travelling on and this hotel was spot on. Not luxurious but better than adequate.

I should have probably read more of the reviews before booking this hotel, however it was very close for my work meeting. The street is very loud and as mentioned by previous reviewers the whole building shakes when trains go through. I found the loud street a bigger problem as the trains at least seem to stop at night. When I asked for a quieter room at the back of hotel I was told it was a ?30 upgrade. This would make the hotel exceed my budget allowed for work stays so I had to decline. B... Read more
