Very good location for reaching by foot most sightseeing spots in Berlin. Clean room with basic amenities. Breakfast could improve compared to what you expect from a breakfast in Berlin. Chose a room not on the main road to avoid traffic noise.

The hotel is modern, very well located and clean. Desk clerks are very friendly. We were given a smoking room, which we did not know existed anymore and it obviously smelled accordingly. The room was very clean. We were given a voucher for free drinks as we are accord club member but when at the bar it seemed that alcoholic drinks were limited to wine and beer, which is not clear on the voucher. I was surprised and had to rethink what i was going have. In the meantime one waitress made rude rema... Read more

This hotel was located in the fascinating Mitte area of Berlin. It was great for getting around on foot or by subway The Spittelmarkt station is the closest and a very pretty approach as you cross over a small footbridge on the Spreekanal which takes you to the laneway beside the Novotel. Highly recommend a walking tour of this fascinating city. The Hotel had good sized room, very quiet (we were on level 7), great bathroom and amazing breakfast that was reasonably priced and delicious

We stayed for several days on a family break to Berlin. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. My children who are 15 and 10 managed well on the sofa bed as they had separate duvets and the bathroom was modern. It is an ideal base for sight seeing due to its excellent location. It is a couple of minutes walk to the U Bahn and the correct line for the Olympic Stadium, the zoo and Potsdamer Platz which were all on our list. The Novotel Berlin Mitte is everything you would want from a hotel; staff are very friendly, the rooms are clean and have plenty of storage space (important for three girls in their early twenties) and, most of all, the location is fantastic. It is only a few minutes from Spittelmarkt station and an easy walk to Alexanderplatz, where there are some shops. Wifi was good both in the lobby and in the bedroom and was free. The room was quite tired but clean. The bathroom was immaculate and had some lovely products to use. All staff in the hotel were very polite and friendly. The hotel was in a decent location, and the room met expectations. However, our check-in was delayed past the guaranteed 3:00 PM time, and the desk staff seemed quite unconcerned about this, did not offer any compensation, and were not able to give us accurate updates about when our room would be available. I found this disappointing given the price of the room.

Nice hotel if you have small children but there better located hotels in Berlin. The staff were the best. The rooms too small for a family room. There are no taxis in front of the hotel , you have to order by the reception. In general a bit to expensive since you need a cab for almost anything.

Good location. Internet kept having issues and locking us out. Also ridiculously expensive water - 7 euros for a tiny bottle. You can get massive bottles from supermarket down road for less than a euro so don't get ripped off buying it in the hotel. Would have thought they would cater for international tourists who might want to use bottled water (although the tap water is fine). Other than that it was great - beds nice, spotlessly clean, big room, would have given it 5 stars otherwise.

A nice hotel in the centre of Berlin.Totally not sexy in any way, but its all there. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Personally i prefer separate shower stalls and tub, thats maybe my only "complaint". Whats good to know is that the hotel caters for LOADS of kids on weekends. We booked 7 rooms here for a birthday trip to Berlin and found it very well located for our sightseeing. All areas (reception, restaurant, rooms, bathrooms) were very clean. We booked on a bed and breakfast basis and found the breakfast suited us well with plenty of choice of hot and cold food. There was also plenty of space so we didn't feel rushed. Staff on reception were nice enough although we did have a problem getting help to book taxis to a meal out. One thing we were particularly impress... Read more

Stayed here at the start of the year, and first time using Novotel outside UK. We had a lovely executive bedroom. Room was clean and well equipped. Hotel has good location to visit Berlin (which is an amazing city). Never made Breakfast, but bar food was nice. The service from the front desk was seamless. Nothing was to much trouble, and remembered you by name. Very professional. Definitely recommend and will return.

Free wifi & mini bar in room. Small gym & sauna in basement (we didn't use). Play area, printer & computers in lounge. Family room: Lack of space with sofa bed extended. Very reasonable Japanese sushi bar (good quality & fresh) & supermarket in same block as hotel. Public swimming pool nxt to hotel, which unfortunately had weird access times! Spittelmarkt Underground just passed pool or 20mins walk from hotel to Alexanderplatz.

The Novotel Berlin Mitte is excellent as regards location and proximity to the U bahn. The Checkin is friendly and very efficient, rooms are modern and very clean. Something that disappoints me about many hotels is the quality of the pillows - the Novotel pillows were perfect for me and I managed to have a great sleep on both nights and had no neck ache. Top points there! Like many hotels, there needs to be a better source of direct light for those of us who have to work in the evenings. The res... Read more

The hotel appears to be almost brand new. It is perfectly located right by the Nikolaiviertel with short walking distance to Alexanderplatz and Unter den Linden. Our room was modern and comfortable, and had a king-size bed as well as a separate couch. Travelling with a baby we especially enjoyed that there was plenty of space for the stroller and all the baby-stuff. There also was a dedicated area with toys and space for playing next to the reception.

The hotel is great. Walk distance for metro. Staff nice and helpful. And the best: the hotel had strollers available for babies! Nice choice, for sure! The restaurant offers Child menu and it is a good alternative for dinner. Nikkolaiviertel is near to the hotel; so the guests have good options for meal.

The hotel has a great location with a 10 min walk from both Alexander platz and Checkpoint Charlie. 15 min walk from Brandenburger Tor. The rooms are clean and nice. Travelling with two adults and two kids its a little bit small but its not that important. The big drawback for us was the beds. They were very hard and both me and my wife had back problems when we left the hotel. Change the beds and we definitely come back for our next stay.

We booked in to Novotel as long returning guests of the brand, however have left slightly disappointed with the Novotel Berlin Mitte. Upon arrival we found the member of check in staff to be slightly rude and unwelcoming as their was a slight mix up with our room. I was also disappointed as i had took the time to do the online check in prior to arrival, but still had to go through the full check in process of filling out passport details etc when we arrived. The rooms themselves are perfect ... Read more

This was a trip with my family. The hotel is located in very close to Alexanderplatz and also very close to the subway station. The rooms are nice although some more cupboard space would have been helpful. The breakfast is nice but would have loved some more options for vegetarians. Overall a very nice hotel

Four of us (2 couples) recently stayed here. Good location. Only thing we found was English was a small problem. Couldn't check in even 5 minutes earlier than 3.00pm. Even though we didn't include breakfast in our booking, the first morning we just put it on our room. the second morning it was like we were asking for free breakfast. All we wanted to do was put it on our room. Had to pay straight away with credit card - don't understand why this was so hard. Never happened anywhere we have... Read more

We stayed in a room for people with disabilities (we are not disabled). So I called to reception to ask if this room was our room for sure. She answered Yes. The problem with that, was that the room is configured for people with disabilities, for example there was no bathtub or curtain, we should took our shower on the floor! The facilities i... Read more

It is a Novotel, but our room was more spacious than some other Novotels in which we have stayed, and perfectly comfortable, clean and easily accessible. The front desk staff was very helpful in all aspects. The location turned out to be excellent. Busses are near, as is the Spittelmarkt U-bahn station. A great discovery was the Nikolaivertel district (near the Nikolaikirche) with dozens of restaurants, several of which serve a much better and far less costly breakfast than the Novotel. All... An excellent hotel - great location being only 3 mins from the U-bahn (underground) station and access to all the key sites. Also walking distance to areas like Checkpoint Charlie etc. A newish hotel that has really good rooms - clean, large for the family and very comfortable beds. The service was really good but we did not have the breakfast or dinner in the hotel.

The hotel is very clean and nice, but the wi-fi barley worked (and we had the premium wi-fi!!), it is a goof value for your money because the rooms are very clean and big, but the hotel is very big and therefore very crowded most of the time.

We travelled to Berlin in Jan 2016 and in the peak of winter! Novotel Mitte was a great hotel, well located, spacious and well equipped rooms and very clean! Even with it being -8 degrees outside we never really needed the heating! We were even allowed to check in early! Highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel is not bad. Location is not so bad, but it is not the best. The only complain is the price of Breakfast. EUR 21.00 each person is TOO MUCH! Even for IBIS/ Accor standard. We stayed 3 nights and then we changed to another IBIS close to Alexanderplatz.

Visited Berlin at the beginning of October and stayed at the Novotel....we were very pleasantly surprised. Great central location near to the underground station and within walking distance of most major attractions. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the room clean and comfortable, can't fault it....would definitely stay again. Note....if you visit by car and have a BMW do not park it on the main road (which is allowed on Saturday evenings) we saw 3 BMW cars on Sunday morning that ... Read more

Stayed two nights. Typical Novotel: clean, efficient, friendly staff. This is a very good location, just beyond all the construction near Museum Island. It is a little confusing because the street, Fischerinsel, surrounds the hotel. Some of the Google directions are a bit challenged by that. While it's on a busy street, I had a quiet room and absolutely no wi-fi issues as reported by some other reviewers. There are good restaurant choices close by. Tapas y Mas is a great dinner choice and only a... Read more

We all know that Novotel is very consistent with their standard - you know what you are going to get. This is specially important when you travel with family! A very special feature is a kids corner in the lobby where the kiddos can play the xbox, or play with a range of games and other good stuff they have available. This is good in that critical hour after you come back from your day trip in Berlin and you know that they will have a riot in the room! Breakfast can be crowded but it is managea... Read more

We booked a family room in this 4 star hotel as a wee treat to ourselves for our stay in Berlin. The hotel was very nice on the ground floor but unfortunately we felt our room was a bit small and basic. The bathroom was very small too. There was nothing wrong with it but just expected more for the price.

4 night stay to visit Berlin. Nice hotel. 5 minute walk to the metro and to a couple bus stops. Right in the museum island, very central for tourists like us. Good room, comfortable bed, clean, nice shower. Very good breakfast and we had dinner in the hotel one night, it was ok (not great, but fine for a hotel restaurant). There are no good restaurants for dinner within walking distance. But again, very easy to move with public transport. Breakfast goes until 10:30 and they close the buffet at ... Read more

If you've stayed at a Novotel before you'll know exactly what to expect so no surprises here: clean, comfortable rooms with reasonable facilities. The location is central so only a quick walk to restaurants, bars etc. but there are also two U-bahn stations nearby if you don't fancy travelling on foot. Hotel staff were excellent - very friendly and willing to help with any request. Breakfast was good quality and even at 9am, was not too busy that I couldn't get a seat. Value-wise, the price I... I was there in a business trip and even if I had no much time to go out for dinner I could find a nice restaurant in the very close quarter of Nikolaiviertel. They also have a restaurant there. The room was silent at night, the bed very comfortable and breakfast very rich.

The hotel room was very good. Comfortable bed and a good shower (the "rain" type which I really liked). Had a decent breakfast in the morning and when I arrived late (around 22:00) I could still have dinner in their restaurant. It's only a 15 minute walk to the Alexander Platz and almost next to the entrance of the U2 subway. Overall a very good experience.
