THE ROOM | I stayed in a Twin Room which is a very small room, but they have utilised the space very effectively! Each bed has it‚??s own little space/nook/lamp and there‚??s a TV at the end of one of the beds. Beautiful bathroom with Molton Brown toiletries. My room faced the internal courtyard so was a bit dark. THE HOTEL | Definitely try the breakfast one morning you're there, there is such variety and everyone will find something they love! And it's a lovely dining room. Go up to the roo... Read more

Everyone helpful and friendly, room upgraded, however only down side poor lighting, but I think this the case in all rooms. No problem with wifi and lots of restaurants close at hand. Ideal for a 3-4 day trip and close to train and street car station. I would definitely return.

This boutique hotel is well located for sight seeing and is easy to get to from the airport. The rooms are small but have very nice décor. As we were in Berlin for only four days w spent very little time in the room. The staff speak good English and are very helpful. If the weather is warmer there is a great terrace on the room to chill out on. Breakfast was excellent but we found the menu for the evening too boutiquey and did not see many people using it. There are a large number of restauran... Read more

We stayed at Monbijou in March 2016, during easter. It's located very close to Hackescher Markt. Very close to s-bahn and metro, u-bahn is a little bit further away but still close. It's very accessible with public transport. Tons of great vietnamese and japanese restaurants in the neighborhood. Strongly recommend.

I stayed here for a weekend away with friends for a birthday. A good location close to public transport. The staff were friendly, very helpful and all spoke English, and the hotel was stylishly decorated in amber, red and dusky blue tones. I stayed on the top floor at the back of the hotel with views across the roof tops, in an attic style room which was perfect for my needs. The breakfast was delicious, with lots to choose from including smoked salmon, cold meats and fish, cheeses, pretzels... Read more

Seriously not one bad word to say about this place! Good location, good area for restaurants and cafes as well as the markets around the corner! Such a comfortable stay and the rooms are quite modern which is very appealing :) would definitely come back here one day!

Just returned from a lovely long weekend here. Lovely little hotel: cosy, friendly and fantastic breakfast! Would have given this 5/5, however the (really) tiny rooms, way-too-soft-pillows and the courtyard bar noise til 2.30am left us really bleary-eyed on check-out. Would book again, but would take our own pillows and EAR PLUGS!!

We had a great stay at Monijou. The location is extremely convenient to the metro, museum island, and more. The room was on the smaller side, but expected with most smaller boutique hotels in a major city. The bed was comfortable, the room quiet, and the shower spacious. The breakfast buffet was also a pleasant surprised. I'm not a fan of the typical breakfast buffet, but I was sold with the choice of croissants, breads, cheeses, smoked fish, and more. A great stay and would recommend to anyon... Read more

When my wife and I travel, we rarely spend much time in the hotel, preferring to maximize touring time. This hotel was perfect for us. It has an excellent location with access to tons of public transit lanes, but it is also within walking distance of a number of great sights. Directly next to Hackescher Markt, where we were able to pick up breakfast-in-hand at a bakery every morning and supplies at the small grocery in the evening. Small, clean rooms with nice bathrooms. Despite facing the str... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights in a suite . Larger room had all the amenities and big jacuzzi bath in bathroom. Didn't have breakfast as preferred to eat out but sampled some delicious red wine in the bar. Hotel is within a few minutes walk of train station and a few bars and good restaurants . We would definitely consider staying here again when next in Berlin .

This a charming hotel in the perfect spot, very close to many attractions and restaurants. Unfortunately, service is not always up to their task. The cleaners put the towel that we placed on the floor for changing back onto the rack. Rooms are generally very small. We booked a corner suite that was reasonably sized but never a suite. Since it went to the street, it was needed to have the windows closed during the night. Charming is also the roof bar with lounge furniture and good drinks.

Monbijou Hotel is the perfect spot for an unforgettable Berlin experience. Located only a few steps away from the famous 'Hackescher Markt' Square it boasts superb Scandinavian-style interior design, the luxury of a wonderful rooftop terrace with excellent views of the Cathedral, and a very comfortable lounge with a fireplace. The hotel's delicious breakfast buffet is your perfect choice for a promising start to an exciting day in the German Capital. Don't miss out on an evening stroll through... Read more

The Monbijou is just 100 yards away from the Hackescher Markt S-bahn station in Berlin. If you're travelling in from Tegel Airport, head out the front, take the TXL bus to the Hauptbahnhof, go into the station to the S-bahn and two stops down is Hackescher Markt. You really can't beat the location. I had a free room courtesy of - because of the price differential I booked a Dom Suite - overlooking the Berliner Dom. I had it from Thursday 7th to Monday 11th July. Normally these ro... Read more

The location of this hotel is probably it's best feature. Just around the corner from Hackescher Markt which has a good selection of restaurants and a very useful S Bahn station it is also a very historical area of the city. The rooms are compact but perfectly large enough for our three night stay. Bed was very comfortable and inward looking room, quiet. The reception, bar and restaurant areas are all tastefully decorated and a nice feeling of space. Breakfast buffet, whilst not cheap for £ use... Read more

This nicely-designed hotel with courtyard and attractive roof terrace is just a few minutes' walk from the Museuminsel, boat trips on the river Spree, Hackescher Markt and other key sites. It's in a neighbourhood with small art galleries and a range of restaurants and is well-placed for public transport. I would happily return here and recommend the hotel to friends.

Our room was a little small (room 504) but had everything we needed and was spotless. The view was great and for us the location was spot on. Roof top bar was lovely and the staff smiley and efficient. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of choice (‚?¨15). The hotel is a little on the loud side at times due to the close proximity of the passing trams but I've lived near main roads all my life so this wasn't an issue for me.

The hotel is designed, and in a fab. location. But..the rooms are very small. If You are over 1.9 m, the bed will be short, and and in any case it wont be wide enough. We stayed 14 nights (in 2 rooms) and yet when we asked for 1900 oclock late checkout, they made us pay for an extra Full night, with a ridiculous excuse. ( there were numerous empty rooms for sale on the web). They tried charging us the full price of 109 eu, till i said id rather pay the Expedia fare, which was 30 eur less... The... Read more

As indicated in other reviews, the rooms are really small, think cruise ship and then shrink the space. However, the common areas, lobby, bar, lounge, 'backyard', and rooftop are really very comfortable and provide you with the space you want/need to just sit down, use your iPad/laptop, read the paper and so on. In the room, sitting on the narrow single bed(s) are your only option. Location is amazing with just about all the places as a visitor you would to see are within a 20-30 minute walk. ... Read more

Spent three lovely nights here. The room is small, but well laid out and with a great closet. It was very easy for the two of us to keep our stuff organized and out of the way. Bathroom is tiny, but since there is shelving, it was more manageable than many bigger bathrooms I've seen. Staff is helpful. Location is convenient to transportation, shopping and meals. Breakfast is not cheap, but I think decent value since the food was wonderful, diverse, and delicious. Excellent AC. Great bedding... Read more

I got a very warm welcome and early check-in, which was lovely and much-needed. Nice design and layout with the courtyard, hardwood flooring in rooms etc. Wifi was weak so would not recommend as business hotel; this may have been due to my room being located in the stairwell (avoid rooms 125, 225, etc) rather than main room block. Location is fantastic and walkable to many terrace cafes and u-bahn.

Lovely hotel. Clean, beautiful, very convenient location with train and tram stops on the doorstep. Our room was facing the street, but the walls were thick and we were really impressed by the sound proofing, we were not disturbed by traffic outside at all. Staff were courteous. We had a drink at the end of the night on the beautiful roof terrace where the bartender made me a lovely non-alcoholic cocktail and managed to improve my partner's ... Read more

We were two couples spending 3 days visit and sightseeing in Berlin. This hotel is very central and a good tour base. It's very clean and pleasant with lovely public rooms. The bedrooms are compact but fine for short stays. We four had rooms 105 and 107 and although they faced the street and the trams are constant we were not bothered by noise. The bathrooms are quite small and one has to be careful not to soak everywhere when showering! Staff are lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was expen... Read more

I spent 5 nights here and had a wonderful stay. I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite, and it was a lovely room. I was on the first floor on the corner right above the street, but it was surprisingly quiet. I was never bothered by any street noise, not even on the weekend. Nice hotel centrally located, close to all major sites in eastern Berlin, cafes, shopping, museums. Quiet hotel, nice rooms, nice beds. We asked for a room facing the courtyard. Recommended!Wonderful breakfast with everything (15 euro pp) and nice bars on the ground floor and rooftop. Recommended for adults on a city break/cultural kind of trip to Berlin.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. The room was ok, but not very spacious. The high ceiling compensated this somewhat. We had expected more space for the price we paid. The room and the bathroom were spotless. The bed very soft and the duvet a bit short for my 6 foot 3. The location was excellent. We were at a few minutes‚?? walk to the Hackescher Markt S-Bahn Station and from the very lively square, where we had dinner and breakfast.

We stayed at Monbijou for 4 nights on our anniversary while visiting Berlin. On the plus side, we upgraded to a corner suite and it was very spacious (bigger than any hotel room I've had in Europe!). The location is excellent for tourists, you can walk to all the major sites and museums and lots of nice restaurants in the area. Very convenient for public transit. Good stay. Exceptionally friendly staff who were more than happy to spend time with us to make recommendations, etc. Good clean rooms and great atmosphere. Rooms are tiny, however, on a City break you're never normally there much so it shouldn't matter that much. We loved the hotel bar at the back - thank you Conrad for making us feel so welcome! We had a great stay - and would probably stay again.

I stayed here with my boyfriend in mid-October and was really happy with the hotel. Upon arriving we were upgraded to the Dome Suite (which is amazing, by the way!). From there, the hotel staff were nothing but friendly, we rented bikes directly from them and they gave us lovely reccomendations on things to do in the area. I would 100% reccomend this hotel to a friend - it has a great feel to it, warm decor (the fireplace is a must), and the breakfast spread is GREAT.

I stayed here for 5 days during a recent holiday to Berlin, and I must say I absolutely loved this little boutique hotel. It is gorgeous. It has the cutest rooms and most beautiful and quaint lobby. The staff are very lovely and helpful too. Location wise it is great too, as it is in the cultural centre of Berlin, and is also very close to both the airport (a 30 minute bus ride away) and city centre (10 minutes away). I would stay here again next time I am in Berlin.
