This was second time to ever do budget accommodation. My friends and I picked a dormitory for the last couple of days in Berlin. We were very skeptical at first but then pleasantly surprised especially about the cleanliness of the dorms. A bit disappointed because the rooms are not cleaned daily though the bathroom is. Our room had a great view of the Banhof and the river so that was really cool. . Even the breakfast is very budgety. Was really hoping for eggs ???, but maybe that was a li... Read more

Be ready for lots of people! Big hostel, lots of traffic, near the Berlin Central station so very busy. But, extremely clean, they maintain it well. If you are on a budget and need safety, convenience and the basics of bed and breakfast, call in here.

Check in was quick and check out was even quicker. Lobby staff was helpful. Room was small but we did not need anything fancy-simply a place to shower and sleep. Hotel does not provide shampoo so must bring own. We (my boyfriend and I) did not stay in a hostel room but a two twin bed room with private bathroom. Was extremely convenient as it was located immediately outside from the train station and was a quick walk to Brandenburg Gate and other main attractions. Bed wasn't the most comfortable ... I can't emphasise how good the location of this hotel is. Right next to the main central train station and within very close walking distance of all sightseeing. The room I had was clean and very basic which was all I needed as we didn't spend much time there art all. The reception staff were helpful and pleasant! Highly recommend!

Location brilliant - less than 5 mins walk from the Berlin HBF. Staffs are mostly friendly and helpful. Had some confusion with the instruction of the washing machine and they were patient to explain it thoroughly. Thumbs up. Washing machine and dryer work well. Rooms are clean (took the 4 female bedded dorms and met some of the best roommates!). Waiting area was spacious and well designed. Price is good. Provided some good walking tours that are available at the counter. Walkable distance... Read more

simply: The best Hostel I have been so far (And I travel a lot!!). Amazing rooms (with TV and wifi and rooms are also eco-friendly), rooftop bar, amazing lobby bar with very affordable German beers (one night we ended up talking and drinking until sunrise with guests from other countries a very fun night and we were not disturbed at all). Location: Amazing! few steps from the main train station!!! very convenient very close from all the main attractions. LOVED IT!!!

Clean, well equipped, excellent service and good location. Walking distance to the train station (There you can find stores, restaurants, drugstore 24x7); only 10min to the Parliament and Brandenburg Gate. Their breakfast service is very good!

It's 3:35 in the morning. I am highly disturbed by a shredder/vacuum coming from the garage across the road. It sounds like something atrocious that I don't want to hear in my whole life. Please sort this out I need my beauty sleep. Going to saxenhausen tomorrow I can't do this anymore I don't wanna be the reason why every time I walk out the door I want to kill this vacuum. Please accept that it was very hard not to swear in this review. Feel my pain please send someone to shut it up

I stayed here for two nits. I arrived late on a Saturday, and was quickly checked in. I had booked a single en-suite room, which was very small, but incredibly clean and had everything i needed. Breakfast was a bargain, a simple continental affair with plenty of coffee and fruit juices. The balcony space is open to guests, and provides a geat view of the city. The location is fantastic - 20mins from Tegel airport , and situated right next to Hauptbahnhof and perfect for on the go tourists.

This is more like a hostel accomodation. A lot of local German schoolies stay at this hotel and they were rowdy. The bar wasn't attended and seemed they are short of staff. One rude staff at reception named Sandra was terrible. The rest were ok. The towels were not changed. Maybe need to put them on the floor or ask. The common area can be crowded so difficult to get pass to get to the elevator. Pros: Location- right next to the station Rooms are generally good size. Strong and reliable wif... Read more

Hotel has a great location for getting around Berlin it is situated next door to one of the main station rooms are small but well maintained. It is within easy walking distance of the river and the Riechtag and Brandenberg gates are within A 10 min walk. The food in the hotel is pretty basic and I would recommend getting breakfast fro any of the varied outlets in the station next door to see more of the city jump on train or tram and the city tours by coach leave from right outside the hotel

We stayed here for one night, because we had an early morning train connection. For travelers from Hauptbahnhof, the location of the hotel is unbeatable (literally one minute walk to the station). Overall, this is more a high quality hostel. Our 4-person room had bunk beds (but very comfortable). The wifi was super good, the rooftop terrace offered wonderful views of Berlin, Reichstag nad Tiergarten are within 10 minutes walk... For a hort stay, nothing to complain about!

I stayed at the hostel for 4 nights while visiting both Berlin and Poland is part of a wider school trip. The location of the hostel is very good being right next to the central Berlin station however on first arriving in my room which was meant for three people should have been for a couple at best. It was a double bed split with two single mattress and a came bed on the floor making it very cramed to move around and awkward to wash. The room it's self did have AC which was needed and kept it... Great location and helpful staff. Pool table is a plus too. Air con was barely a trickle of air so it was far too hot in the room. The bar area was uncomfortable and the TVs in all the wrong places to watch.

If you just want a coffee with bread and meat. The luggage area was a great help and coming from the train station you can't be the location. Price i would rate as ok.

My sister and I stayed at this hotel on our first trip to Berlin. We loved it because it was so close to one of the main train stations. It was so easy to get around Berlin with public transport so the location was perfect. Also this train station has a lot of options to grab a snack before you head out to explore the city. The accommodation is basic but clean and the staff are friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

The position of hotel is good, near central train station (Haupbanhof). Rate 5 stars. A quadruple room (room for 4 people) but only 10 m2. In comparison, the same room type in Meininger Brussels is larger than Berlin. No air conditioner, only fan coiling. Rate 2 stars. The attitude of receptionists is good, check in and check out easy, not extra tourist fee (in Belgium and Holland I have to pay this fee). Rate 5 stars. Meininger Hotel Berlin is located within 50m of the Berlin Hauptbahnhof (central station) and therefore has a great location. The main tourist sights are a short 10 minute walk. The hotel itself is very fresh and clean thanks to a modern interior. The hotel has a kitchen and large dining area which is useful for those making their own meals. Overall I had a great experience as the hotel provides good facilites and is perfect for both solos and groups at a cheaper price.

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights in a 4 bedroom female only dorm. The dorm was very small for four people and only had toilet and shower facilities within our room for one. So there were many occasions where one person was in the shower and others needed the toilet. There were separate toilets on the ground floor but you had to wait in line at reception to obtain a key, which seemed ridiculous and was a lengthy process, especially as we were on the 7th floor! The hotel is right next to DB Hauptbahnhof which facilitate transportation but the room are so small that you can barely move, the rooms were clean but some time the room service clean only the down beds on the bunk bed. Big, bohemian and packed of bellowing groups of children: that is what you're up for if staying at the Meininger. Although having the central station a few strides away means you'll be anywhere in Berlin in a jiffy, I wouldn't recommend spending a night unless you don't care for interrupted sleep, vast unfriendly corridors and average food.

Only suitable for group travel, even then not very nice. The rooms are cramped, as are the breakfast rooms, and the interior is not very nice either. The location next to the Berlin central railway station suggests that the hotel is in the city centre - it isn┬┤t. The only nearby shops are in the station it self, not much more than a bus station can be found nearby. Also the rooms get unbearably hot in the day, the A/C does not really work. I stayed in one of the hostel rooms - 4 beds. The place had more of a hotel vibe than a hostel vibe meaning that it was hard to connect with others outside of my roommates. It was very busy, often a line to talk to staff at the front desk. The rooms didn't have any locked storage. They did have a bath/shower which was nice. The rooftop bar had nice views, but the bar wasn't open during my 5 night stay. Location next to the main train station was great.

This one is a really nice hotel. Its location could be considered as its strenght, because in less than two minutes you're in the central station of Berlin. There are a lot of young customers.
