I am a regular user of IHG hotels and had been told of how "nice" the Indigo "boutique" brand was. Unfortunately, in this case, the issues outweighed the pluses. First the pluses; it is well situated in former East Berlin, near the underground, and right on tram lines, close to Alexanderplatz a large and fairly lively square with plenty of shops etc. There were numerous good restaurants in the area, including the number 1 ranked by Tripadvisor users, which was a short walk away - and it was e... My husband and I stayed here 5/18/16 - 5/21/16. Great location; within easy walking distance to the heart of Alexanderplatz (including train station and U-Bahn access). The staff was friendly and helpful, and all that we encountered spoke English. I was impressed with how quickly they were able to get us a cab when needed - it arrives in 5 minutes or less. Our room was larger than expected (it's been my experience that European hotel rooms tend to be much smaller than those in the US), and very ... Read more

We stayed in this hotel for a week, and it was a great central location for exploring Berlin. It was clean, small, comfy, and the bathroom was so fun (I don't know if I've ever called a bathroom fun before, but there it is)! The shower was fantastic, but if you are rooming with someone whom you are not comfortable seeing while showering, consider that there wall is see-through in some areas. The breakfast was delicious, but we were not sure if it was included or not. It ended up being included... Read more

Great hotel just off Alexanderplatz with easy access to local transport via train, tram, subway or bus for getting about the city. The room was immaculate, with modern decor and fantastic shower. Restaurant food was very nice, and waitress very friendly. Reception staff very friendly and helpful especially upon leaving as the direct trains to Schonefeld had been disrupted. If you are a single traveler, the double rooms are OK, but trying to put two people and luggage into one of the tiny double rooms (even small by European standards!) is unbelievable uncomfortable! No place to put luggage, no luggage rack so everything ends up on the floor! Yes the rooms are fun looking, but if you can't unpack a bit and find clothing for the next day, doesn't matter how cute the room is. Liked the kettle with coffee/tea but housekeeping didn't replenished either the coffee or... Read more

We stayed there for 3 nights and here are the pros and cons: The good: Great location, clean/new rooms, nice shower The bad: tiny room and the smallest bed we've slept in in ages. Hard to get a good night's sleep due to small bed and noisy surroundings - our room was facing the courtyard which was supposed to be quiet but unfortunately that is where you get the noise from guests partying in bar/restaurant below on weekends (till early a.m.) Would give 3,5 stars if it were possible. This will be a very short review, because I didn't spend much time at the hotel, I didn't try the breakfast or the other facilities. This is why I give the hotel 3/5, even though I am tempted to give 4/5. The hotel is very central, close to metro and train. Within 10-minutes walking, you will find shopping mall, supermarket and local pubs. The room was nice, but there is a glass wall to the shower, so no good if you are shy. The pillows were too soft, but that is the only negative thing... Read more

Some hotels come with a price tag which demand glitz and glamour. Some are bargain buckets and look it. This, however, is a hotel which delivered heavily on value for money and yet provided a stay which reeked of quality. The hotel itself is perfectly positioned for exploration of what was East Berlin...and its proximity to the sights and the transport links makes this a great all rounder. So, firstly, the hotel itself... The reception is warm and welcoming - all subtle lighting and tastefully ... Read more

We chose the Indigo over the standard Holiday Inn right next door, because it is more boutique in style, and it is a nice hotel, but I'd be interested to see the room size in the Holiday Inn, as our room was tiny - almost completely filled by the king sized bed and with very little in the way of surfaces. It was all very design focused but we felt space was wasted with mirrors when an extra 10cm on the room would have been more use. The shower has a discreet, but glass, divider between it and th... We had a high room with a view of the platz itself with floor to ceiling windows (and good blinds/ curtains). The room continues the modern design which works but may not be everybody's taste. The staff, location, and facilities are first-rate. I highly recommend the hotel. The standard rooms are NYC-style small, but they're (and the other rooms) are well designed. If you can spare the money, I'd upgrade to a deluxe room for more space.

We started our Euro segment of our honeymoon in Berlin. We were not disappointed with this hotel! Friendly staff greeted us at the door with perfect English. Our room was clean with a nice view of Alexanderplatz. It was a short walk to Alexanderplatz. Breakfast at the hotel was great, always restocking food items, large variety and full of flavour. Cannot fault this hotel. Thank you!

The hotel was recommended to us, and I can see why. The location is fantastic. Many of the main attractions are within easy walking distance. Options for eating out near the hotel are numerous and cater for all tastes - although if, like me, you don't eat meat you may find that the Italian restaurants offer the best choice. Rooms are lovely. We had a deluxe room and it offered plenty of room. The breakfast deal is worth paying for. The choice and quality of food in the breakfast buffet is fant... Read more

I really liked our room - it was very swish! Yes, as people have noted, there is a glass wall between the bathroom and the bedroom, BUT it has a huge decorative decal (sticker) of the Neptunbrunnen (fountain sculpture of Neptune in Berlin) covering up to chest-ish-level either side, and is reasonably sound proof. But if you want to have fun and play peekaboo through the glass you can! ;P The folks at the desk were lovely and helpful, we were especially happy with Eddi who was really helpful and ... Read more

Stayed at the Hotel Indigo, Alexanderplatz in Berlin for two nights. Very central location with most attractions in Berlin pretty close. The rooms are standard size tending to small. Comfortable bed, wifi worked well, breakfast was very average. A big plus - there was a kettle in the room so one could make a cup of tea and coffee in the room but then there was no hair dryer in the bathroom- something I missed. One amenity I miss on most hotels in Europe is a place to keep and open your suitcase... Read more

We had 5 nights at the Indigo hotel. The hotel is in great location, the receptionist was great and the breakfast has a big variety of products. 3 out of the 5 days we didn't get any housekeeping while everyday we got a different reason- the door was locked (which it wasn't), we put the "Do not disturb" sign up the door (yes for 30min from 8:00-8:30 while we had breakfast) and on the third day there was no excuse- after i complained in the reception i got my room cleaned (at 6pm). So a friend and I went for a city trip and stayed in this hotel. The atmosphere and vibe in the hotel is really nice, and the room is fine! The only recommendation I have for future friends-citytrippers is: these might not be the best room to share with a friend as there is a glass window from the shower to the bedroom, so no privacy while taking a shower. :) We had to laugh about it, and dealt with it, but just a little less comfy and relaxing.. further it was a nice, centrally located hotel.... Stayed here on a family European vacation. The rooms appeared MUCH bigger in photos. We had to keep our luggage under the bed or we couldn't walk around the room. It was also extremely warm in our room (in October?!) and the only solution was for us to keep our window open. This lead to some very loud noise for sleeping! However, the front desk staff was amazingly helpful and friendly and the rooms were spotless!!!

The best of the hotel: location and breakfast. The double room we got was unbelievable tiny, no even room for one luggage that was kept on the floor and we had to jump it all the time.
