I have stayed in this hotel each November for over 12 years. The location is ideal - near the Kurfurstendamm and its superb shops, with two nearby U-Bahn (underground) stations, and a 12 minute walk to Zoo S-Bahn station. You can also take a bus to and from Tegel airport. If you want to attend cultural events such as the Jazzfest Berlin (which i highly recommend), it is a mere five or six minutes' walk to the Haus der Berliner Festspiele. The hotel itself is in Meinikestrasse, a smart road with ... Read more

This hotel was really convenient since the location was ideal. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was just OK (not much of a variety). The only minus was that the staff at the front desk were generally unfriendly, except for a Venezuelan staff member who was just lovely.

This hotel is near everything. If you want to go shopping, just walk around the corner, if you want to eat, there are several good restaurants nearby. It´s even possible to walk to the Berlin zoo. This is still a quiet place, a little "better neighbourhood".

This is fairly decent business or short break hotel. Nothing flash, but clean and functional. The only issue we had was intially being put in a Smoking room but the staff on the front desk managed to change this by late afternoon and we were able to move. The breakfast is fine but typically continental and on all three days we were there, very very busy. Probably the best thing about the hotel is its proximity to both underground and over ground rail stations and the transfer from the airport... Read more

Absolutely fantastic location surrounded by lots of excellent restaurants. The hotel was nice but I would not have rated it 4 stars. It was clean and for us it was just somewhere to sleep. Unfortunately we were in a room which must have been above the kitchens as from 5am it was extremely noisy. I would definitely stay here again based on location and what we paid, the price was excellent

When my wife and I were in Berlin the temperature was 30+ and at night still about 20, So it would have been good to afford an air conditioned hotel but it was still acceptable. Also at present there is very noisy renovation work on a house opposite (jackhammers sometimes starting at 0700 and continuing to 1600); this could continue for many weeks? So a room not facing the street would have been much preferable. We were not told about this problem when checking in and not offered a quieter room... Read more

The hotel is well positioned in the one shopping areas of Berlin. The rooms are normal size for this level. It is close to a big train station (Zoological Garden). The staff is very friendly and cooperative. I suggest to consider renovation corridors at list at 5th floor. It will be nice if the guest can prepare a cup of coffee/tea in the room

The location cannot be better because it is so to say on Ku'damm and near to the U-Bahn station and S-Bahn buses. The rooms are nice although the furniture is not the newest but it does not bother. Breakfast is really good - what I missed was more fruit. What I was really disappointed at was the staff at the reception desk. Some of them were really impolite and not helpful at all.

Standard Hotel with rather unclean looking carpets on my floor. Very noicy breakfast room with standard breakfast with no attempt to go at least a little bit above avarage level. When you leave your luggage in a store room to pick up later, there is a key to the door, but no direct control of who takes what luggage and some very sour answer from the reception, when I expressed my concerns.

This is our 3rd stay at the Berlin Mark and although the room we had this time was a bit tired we will certainly return on our next trip to Berlin. The room was big enough for two people and the shower room, albeit compact, is perfectly formed. The location for us is exceptional as we like to walk and the Tiergarten is only a 10 minute walk away. Lots of nice restaurants nearby as well as excellent shopping on the Ku'dam. I would recommend the Berlin Mark for its location to the main shopping area and U & S bahn train connections. The room I stayed in was clean and adequate for a city break but the hotel is in bad need of an upgrade, the carpets are in a bad way and extremely warn which is not good if the hotel wishes to attract business and customers though I believe the price of the hotel reflects its current situation which is very reasonably priced for a city break.

OK, this is not the Waldorf. What it is is a well placed and convenient hotel on a quiet street with several restaurants only steps away. It's a breath away from Ku-Damm where you'll find everything. I found the room adequate for my needs, the breakfast entirely fine and the staff pleasant and helpful. The bar offerings were over priced, but there are other places to go. Very good breakfast, helpful staff, clean and situated in a lovely part of Berlin, it is within walking distance of many attractions, such as the zoo, Story of Berlin, Kaiser Wilheim Memorial Church, Hard Rock Cafe and numerous other rest... The hotel bar was modern and pleasant enough, but the 3rd floor looked like it hadn't been done up since the 60's. The room was a decent size but tired decor again. Bathrooms were cleaned to a high standard each day. We got it for a decent price and its location was good so I'm happy enough. :/

The Berlin Mark Hotel is located in a central place, in a quiet street. The location is close to a few bus stations and local train (Bahn). There is supermarket (Lidl), pharmacy and a few restaurants near by. It is simple but pleasant, the service is good. Breakfast is rich and delicious. We stayed at the hotel for a business conference which was set for us very nicely, with facilities - screen, projector, water and hot drinks.

After some of the other reviews I read I wasn't expecting too much but it was great The pros. Nice room next to a lift and door but never heard any noise. It was clean and nice shower room. The breakfast was excellent plenty of choice. Filled you up for a good day out Staff were good no problems checking in or out. Handy for Lidl and reasonable restaurants. Cons the room was too hot and controls didnt seem to work. That was about it really enjoyed our 3 night stay and would recommend it.

We had booked a superior room but it was not more then a standard room. The toilet are to low but it was clean. The view from the window was also terrible. So the location was 300 or 400 meter near the Kurfustendamm that was ok.

we have just returned from having a 3 night break in Berlin staying at this hotel. what a fabulous surprise we had, having read some of the negative reports. We began to wonder if we were at the same hotel! The staff were friendly and helpful, very clean everywhere, location great, breakfasts were suburb very busy but always got seated straight away. Staff were very busy but always took time to bid us Good Morning. The bedroom was very hot so opened windows wide at night therefore rather noisy... Read more

The location is ideal at the center of Berlin, breakfast is good but a bit expensive, staff is polite but when it comes to a 4 star hotel I would say 3 max since the hotel needs lots of details to be fixed, broken mirrors etc and the rooms defently need renovation from the start but still is a medium choice for city hotels located in the center. Parking is available by payment at the street.

Nice hotel, although I must admit it doesnt quite live up to the 4 stars. Location could not be better, cleanliness also fine. The rooms though were very outdated, tiny not working tv which was placed opposite the bed so it could not be seen. Furthermore, the lamp had fallen out of its place. But overall the location made up for some it.

Minuses: Pillows and towels are too old (especially towels, seems like they as old, as my grandmother), poor breakfast, not enough for 4* hotel. Plusses: Location, service, comfortable bed, a lot of light spots in a room.

Stayed here for nights. You can't book in until 3pm, so had to leave cases in an unlocked room right beside the main entrance door, totally unsafe. No toilets in reception area, they are in the basement and stink of raw sewage. The reception staff are unhelpful and rude. The room we were put in was absolutely disgusting and stank of stale cigarettes. The carpet in the hallways were stained and stank of cigarettes, the very mattress on the bed stank of cigarette smoke. No kettle in the room, only... Read more

I booked this hotel for my mothers 60th as a surprise. However as I noticed there was no tea making facilities in the rooms ( a basic facility) I emailed the hotel asking if they could possibly accommodate this request as tea is all my parents drink. However to my surprise I was told that I needed to upgrade my room !! I work in the hotel industry (Sheraton Starwood) and this would be a perfectly reasonable request in my opinion. However I agreed to upgrade to a superior room via email but no res... Read more

Good service from knowledgeable friendly staff, excellent location and first class breakfast I would recommend as a good base for a stay Good restaurants are only a few yards away and offer a varied choice.
