I really wanted to love this hotel and had a nice stay overall but for being a 5-star resort for the price there's a lot to be desired. Pros: The rooms were quite nice, I had a beach bungalow, it was spacious, nice porch, no complaints other than the A/C didn't get quite as cold as I would like. The beach was nice as well, great snorkeling on-site, and very beautiful grounds. I was there during the low season so the resort was far from crowded, which was great. Cons: Overall service was far fr... Read more

We had an end unit over water bungalow. It was heaven. The Sofitel met all expectations for what was certainly a trip of a lifetime. The location is a little far from some of the better beaches and sites to see, but you really don't need to go anywhere as the resort if idyllic. There's a small beach - but adequate for the number of people at the resort, multiple restaurants - all good in their own right, and plenty of activities on property.

Having stayed previously at the Intercon and Pearl resorts over the years a nice change to have 11 nights at the Sofitel. Beautiful over the water bungalow serviced daily to a very high standard. Very friendly staff at reception and throughout the Hotel. Magnificently maintained gardens and grounds as were all the facilities. Only a couple of things we would suggest is a daily sheet with weather and any info on activities for the day ! Improvements to the dinner menu which was unchanged durin... Read more

It is the multiple ‚??Ps‚?? of marketing all wrapped up in a hotel - - - Product, Professionalism, place and Panache The hotel was absolutely the best that we have stayed in over a long period of time. It was very professional in everything the staff did as well as being super friendly. Our over water bungalow was very comfortable, well maintained and well serviced. Restaurant K was so good we went twice in two days Downside was the Wi-Fi and it was poor. Being away from our home on a round t... Read more

We just stayed 4 nights in a Luxury Overwater Bungalow and we've been spoilt! We also stayed at the Hilton during our trip and for those that are debating whether to stay at the Hilton or Sofitel hopefully this review will help you out. Whats great: - The beach here was better than the Hilton. Calm waters, especially during the morning when it was calmer than a lake! Perfect for a dip. It gets rather windy at the Hilton during the afternoons - but due to the location of the Sofitel, no wind pro... Read more

We spend 4nights at the Sofitel on beautiful Moorea......for the cost of the hotel we were disappointed in the service.......very slow and the food was really a very boring menu didn't come all that way for hamburgers and lasagna........and expensive. The Vue Resturant was ok not memorable which is a shame. Disappointed to be charged for water and in your room only one small bottle per person per day and not delivered until 18.00.... Great to see local people enjoying them selves as on a Sunday ... Read more

The resort is at the high end price point and with this in mind it is difficult to not expect close to perfection in comparing it to say similar properties in other resort area like Honolulu/Maui ,however if you are prepared to accept a few shortcomings it really is a lovely place to holiday. Service in the bar is at times terrible but the staff are so friendly its hard not to forgive them. I think some better training could assist. We were disappointed the Pure Restaurant did not open any ni... Read more

This is our 3rd trip to this hotel, and it continues to be our favorite on Mo'orea for a variety of reasons. The resort has the unique distinction of being the ONLY one with a view of Tahiti, which is always breathtaking. It also has no standard hotel rooms and each accommodation is a separate building (either a land or overwater bungalow), giving you privacy from neighbors. The rooms are large and the patio areas are awesome (like any tropical location, take a good bug repellent, especially if... Read more

This place makes you enchanted, never want to leave and miserable that you can't live there forever. The weather could have been torrential rain and my partner and I still would have been in total bliss.

This was the most expensive trip my husband and I have ever taken, and with the cost we were shocked (and disappointed) that we would have to pay for water with our meals. That aside - the staff were all very friendly and helpful. A special shout-out to Jeanne, Teupoo and Heinz (the breakfast omelette chef who is as entertaining as he is a food artist!!!!). The breakfast buffet is without question one of the best we've ever experienced!!! In fact, we were impressed with all of the food - you... Read more
