You get what you pay for... so if you lower your expectation... well, this place is good value... We got a lagoon bungalow that has great view to the private island. The room however is very dated and requires serious renovation... The extra rollaway bed they supplied for my child looked like a piece of junk from the dump site.. (i'm serious...) Water around bungalow is shallow and easy for snorkelling, during our last few days a group of eagle rays (up to 11) came by often playing around our ... Read more

Bora Bora is great. But the service at this hotel is only so so although the location is great and our over-water bungalow has a great view to the private isle. The dinner is not very fresh and not very tasting.

We have been very lucky with our French Polynesian trip with regards to our hotel as we had the best room/bungalow but the last night at Tahiti. I think it's because we booked them through a travel agent in Sydney, Hideaway Holidays, and obviously, the hotels want to have a long term business with travel agents. I think if we had booked this ourselves through booking dot com, we wouldn't have been given the best bungalows. We were assigned bungalow #63 which is the best bungalow of the resort ... Read more

We selected this property since we wanted an over-water bungalow and this price was mid-range of all resorts offering that option. We had a great time in our room snorkeling and playing in the water. I fed the fish bread from the buffet and was able to get fantastic pictures and great memories. We went in off season so it was cloudy and rained a little but we had one spectacular sunny day and it was amazing. We are drinkers so we made several visits to the bar but never really had a great tim... Read more

Sofitel Bora Bora Marara Beach Resort The hotel is okay and it is close to small convenient store. Our room was okay as well but it had a smell of humidity. The way they do their check in is not adequate. They sit all the passengers that just arrived on the boat on a common area and they do it as a whole. Not personalized‚?¶ if you have questions Anita told us everything it‚??s in your envelope. I would have hope for more finesse from Anita‚??s part. Customer service is key for the hospitalit... This hotel has the perfect combination of comfort and Luxury. This is the place where you get one of the best overwater bungalows in the island for a very reasonable price. They are bigger than the usual ones, offer you your own area for taking the sun, the stairs directly to the lagoon as well as a glassed floor to see the fish swimming around from your room. The style is not the fanciest or most luxurious in the island but it doesn't mean the standards are bad. They have a great infinity pool,... Read more

We spent 5 out of 10 nights for our Honeymoon in a Lagoon view bungalow at the Sofitel. We had booked our trip though Costco Travel and they recommended this hotel. The first evening we arrived late and decided just to eat at the Hurricane Bar. The hamburger I ordered was so terrible I did not eat it but we stayed and had a drink. While having our drink we noticed the bartender washing all dishes in the bar sink. She was using a dirty rag with soap then would set the "clean" dishes in the ... Read more

Got a great deal for Sofitel bora bora through Costco travel where breakfast and lunch were included everyday. The food was excellent everyday, I enjoyed the buffet breakfast every morning which was very tasty and the variety between buffet and plated dinners at night (they really seemed to pay special interest with their food it really was great!) We stayed here during mid April and unfortunately it rained almost everyday all day, when we spoke to some of the locals they said that they have bee... Read more
