WOW! What an amazing place! Our room was the end of pontoon room absolutely amazing! Loved feeding the fish right inside the room! Wonderful service just ask for it you get it, treated like royalty! Staff are friendly and helpful. Food was great but would not take a meal plan for dinner it cost more for the plan than it did for the meals. There is a little corner store down the road for snacks, beer and wine. They also make rotisserie chickens that are great for lunch! Also there is a little bur... Read more

Very nice place! Although same seems smaller when compared to Thalasso, we found same more intimate and cozy. Each overwater bungalow has reef corals positioned just below same which attracts various type of fishes. We had fun feeding the fishes from a glass bottom table right from our bungalow. Hotel manager was very pleasant being present in our check in, during dinner and also during boat departure. Restaurant staff seemed a bit too busy for not so many guests,.. This place is truly paradise. My wife and I couldn't have dreamt of better place to spend our honeymoon. The people were extremely friendly and accommodating. The overwater bungalows were even more amazing than in the photos. FYI - bora bora was NOT as expensive as everyone makes it out to be. It's basically Hawaii prices, expensive but not as expensive as you may think. One last thing, this place/BoraBora is for couples. Kids would have fun but it really is made for romance. When making our decision on where to stay in Bora Bora, Le Moana was our choice. In this case, the most expensive is not the best. This is on the best location on the island. If you have a little patients, and muscle, you can take one of the kayaks over to the coral gardens where there is the best snorkeling on the planet! Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. When we checked in the General Manager came out and personally greeted us, thanking us for being Spire members. W... Read more

On par with Intercontinental great service as usual. If you are on a budget, for your information, between Moorea, Bora Bora and Tahiti this Intercontinental has the best overwater horizon bungalow. And you can rent scooter for 2 days at 140000 cpf (we got it at the Maitai hotel). Once you have the scooter, you can just go out and buy yummy cheap local food. They give you 1 big bottle of water for free everyday. I personally thinks that Moorea is better place to buy pearls among these 3 islands.... Read more

We stayed at Le Moana in May 2016. We had a horizon overwater bungalow, it was #16. The pictures on their website do not do justice. The rooms are beautiful! They were really big too! We had a king sized bed, a living room, a giant bathroom, and a big back patio. The coffee table in the living room is all glass so you can see the water and the table actually opens up so you can feed the fish. Everyone at this hotel is extremely nice. The rooms were excellent, but a few comments: - non smoking hotel. You could only smoke in the specified place for smokers and in the terrace of the bungalow. You cannot have a drink at the bar (outside) or at the beach with a cigarette - after charging you 50$ per person per trip from/ to the airport (there is no other way to comfortably get there), they charge a ridiculous amount of money for the room. Shouldn't it be complimentary?? Oh! And on the way to the airport, we stopped twice : once ... Read more

Having seen so many beautiful hotels in French Polynesia during our honeymoon, the Intercontinental Le Moana was by far the least luxurious one. It already started with the pick-up from the Bora Bora airport. The boat was very small and I feared it would sink during the passage. Having finally arrived, the check-in was kind of improvised. Amazing hotel, had a wonderful overwater bungalow. Lots of space with a great patio and sun chairs for relaxation. Hotel service is great, all the staff were very friendly and the facilities were very clean and fairly modern. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the breakfast buffet had a good variety. Room service food was slightly less impressive but reasonably priced. Overall a fantastic place for honeymooners.

We loved our 7-night stay here. Everything is really extraordinarily beautiful. The grounds are quite spacious, yet the resort feels very intimate and relaxing. Although the resort was full or nearly full during our stay, it never felt that way, but seemed very private and personal. At times it felt as if we had the place practically to ourselves! The water is amazing. Water shoes are a must. (There are many rocks scattered among the lagoon's sandy bottom.) We brought "spring floats" with... Read more

Enjoyed all aspects of our six night stay at Le Moana. Has a very nice small resort feel with friendly staff and a very calm and quiet atmosphere. Our overwater bungalow and deck were wonderful, highly recommend the splurge!! Staff was responsive to a couple of issues we encountered, but handled promptly with a smile, all you can ask for when needing to have something addressed. Food at the casual restaurant and bar was very good, lots of variety. We visited two other resorts while in BB... Read more

We only visited the resort during the day and on another day enjoyed the local dance show. We booked a nice table for 2 and had an excellent view of the performance. Others could also just buy a drink at the bar and watch from a short distance standing up. We found the service very personable and mostly qualified. A bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio at about US 45 seemed fair and I believe dinner was around US$ 150 per couple. The meal was an extensive buffet where especially the starters, fish dis... Read more

We stayed in overwater bungalow #30 which was very nice. The OW units are amazing with great views, fish and manta rays right off your deck and Windows. We enjoyed the restaurant twice once for the show which was very good and up close to all the tables. We also enjoyed happy hour each evening at the bar. This is not a "glitzy resort' like its sister resort the Intercontinental Thalasso but our overwater bungalow had every amenity and the atmosphere was very laid back. The staff particularly in the concierge office were charming and helpful. We appreciated that the manager was present at mealtimes and made an outstanding effort to converse with all the guests. It was good to be on the main island and not on an outer motu. The food was good without being outstanding. Unfortunately it was very wind... Read more

First, the basics: as others have noted, it's windy here on the southern tip of the island. But we got used to it and came to enjoy it; plus, there are no mosquito issues because they can never zero in on you in such wind! Also, it's on the island, not a motu, which is a huge benefit when you want to take a tour somewhere. The resort is small, and a little older, but very well maintained. We enjoyed the small size as we got to know the other guests. We stayed in an OWB, which was very nice,... Read more

When planning our honeymoon I spent months trying to find the right place to stay: somewhere with the best located overwater bungalows, with easy access to other places in Bora Bora but also a high-end hotel that wouldn't destroy our newlywed bank account. If there's such thing as affordable luxury, Intercontinental Le Moana is the place to be! First of all the location is simply amazing! Agree that it is not a "glitzy resort" but it has class and has a homey feel and is much smaller and intimate than it's sister IC Thalasso. The staff was outstanding, always saying LaOrana with a big smile without exception. Loved our OWB bungalow 26. We weren't really bothered that much by the wind. The water was calm and filled with fish close to the reef right under many of the OWBs including ours. We spent much time snorkeling, stepping right off our OWB. My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon on the advice of our travel agent, who told us that the other Intercontinental property was undergoing renovations. It's an incredible property and was nice to be in a smaller hotel. The rooms were great, the lagoon was everything you'd imagine. It was nice being on the main island as it made it a lot easier to get to restaurants for dinner (food at the hotel was only so-so). Once we arrived in the Bora Bora airport, the IC staff welcomed us and put us into two different boats - one for IC Thalasso and the other for IC Le Moana. When you go to Bora Bora, what are you there for? Do you want isolation in paradise looking over the lagoon and beautiful island, or do you want easy access to local establishments? For the first, you will pay...seriously! For the last, it won't be as luxurious. I think Le Moana strikes the best balance between these two.
